Just thought, maybe Movits will be the releasing factor to Swedish becoming an international language just because people want to be able to understand their songs ;)
I'm Swedish and I can barely distinguish what they are saying. Granted, my sound system is sub par at the moment, but it's certainly not a lesson in how to clearly articulate Swedish. I totally love it at any rate!

Since I'm from the same town a can say that the lyrics are always telling a story, and most often in a very ingenious and funny way. I think they quite often also have an undertone of social critisism and/or talking about the hard times like growing up(Fel del av Gården), heartache (Ta på dig dansskona) or no cash and runnig away (2 dollar på fickan). Enjoy.
Honestly I don't give a FUCK if I understand it or not. I listen to Kaizer's Orchestra and I have little to no idea what they're saying. I like music for music, not necessarily the lyrics. If I understand them, great... if not oh well. These guys have a catchy sound so I've got nothing to complain about.
we're not saying colbert made them good, we're just saying that colbert gave them publicity in the US and definitely helped them gain some popularity.
You know, we from sweden acctually know them too. They´ve been having small famousness on swedish radio and tv since a year back since äppelknyckarjazz...with that sound its well deserved. Hehe its funny though that you probably dont understand a word they saying=P
no we don't. but the sound is great. it just sounds really pleasing and the words sound pretty and although we're obviously missing alot of meaning it doesnt matter to most american movits fans.
Trust me, as a Norwegian it is pretty hard to get everything they say, so even if an American could understand Scndinavian he would have a hard time with this one.
That is true ;). A true swede should know what they are saying, it might be difficult for foreigners(even if they understand swedish) because of the dialect. They are from the north(Luleå).
@landshark668 where are you from? I'm east coast and don't understand what your talking about. (Unless your thinking of a New York or a Boston accent)
I just ran across Movits! Great stuff coming out of Sweden. When I heard this track, it reminded me of some Everlast solo material...all dirty south and sexy.
@niclashbg they appeared on the "Colbert Report" and the "bump" is the popularity gained from being on the show! all the people commenting saying "Colbert bump from (-----) " have found movits from seeing them on the colbert report.
They sing about influences when growing up. One passage for example teacher asks if he wants to be a football pro but he rather smoke crack and sing. "farsan var en rolling stone & morsan ville se tom jones" is some of the chorus(?) wich translates to like: "Dad was a rolling stone and my mother wanted to see tom jones".

We have Comedy Central here, with the usual American shows with the addition of some Swedish programming. I never miss a single episode of The Daily Show or The Colbert Report. My absolute favourite is Real Time with Bill Maher though.
