  • now I´ll trhow my guitar in the garbage and find a real job...

  • whoever titled this video Mr 336.....not that it matters, but isn't that a CS-339. i'm only asking because i've been using a figured CS 339 for the past 2 years, one made in 2008, with this exact color pattern. i think this video of him is the exact same guitar as mine. also, there is no ES-style guitar on the gibson website called a 336. just curious.

  • @funkymonkey6string

Actually, there is a CS-336 (classified as an archtop, not an ES, the top is solid, not laminated). I have one in Tangerine Burst built in 2002. They are substantially more expensive than the ES-339 because the back and sides are carved from a single block of wood. Anyway, Mr. 336 plays wonderfully well.

  • suck a sexy guitar damn

  • Was that some guy building a shed at the start of the video?

  • hey people.. don't waste time on some random person trolling about the skills of mr. grased. You can always hit thumbs down for the comment. ;) arguing on youtube about puny little things is just as stupid as trolling about a video.

  • Does anyone know where I can get a download of this? I absolutely love and I think its just what I need for the dreadful commute that I have to make every morning lol

  • Lauraslook# shut the fuck up

  • If you like this you need to check out Tom Hemby. He is a Nashville session player that has posted a handful of videos of his Jazz Fusion band. Kieth Carlock is drumming, Adam Nitti is playing bass, Mark Douthit on sax, and Michael Whittaker on keys. These guys are monsters especially Hemby. If you like a lead player that knows how to get great tone and can play some interesting stuff look him up. He is also a monster acoustic guitar.

  • beautiful!!!!

  • This is not even in the same league as Coltrane. Listen to SoulTrane and you'll understand the difference between playing with emotion, and then playing w thought. he can't take his eyes off the fret board because he's too concerned with missing a note in the scale.

  • @lauraslook What the fuck would YOU know about the thought process behind a Coltrane or Garsed solo? You're too busy posting vids of your FUCKING CAT!!!! Post some of your own playing and stand behind THAT instead of using other musician's abilities to bolster your bitter and prejudiced opinions.

  • @lauraslook I'm pretty sure he's just thinking, which is usually required when you improvise.

  • completely souless, and confusing. absolutley no depth, no dimension or character

how can this even be considered as anything but repetition....the only skill here is a

mastery of finger exercises up and down the fret board.

  • @lauraslook You are either a troll or have little understanding, either way I pity you.

  • @lauraslook

Says someone who has the raconteurs as a favourite-video. I guess you're just after some chord-bashing so you can at least feel the 4/4

  • @lauraslook

haha...you admitted you were confused by this, which explains everything.

  • Gee....how many notes can I jam into 3 bars, maybe one of them will eventually fit

  • @lauraslook What exactly are you saying? You only like people who play very few notes and all others are bad? That would mean you wouldn't appreciate most jazz, including geniuses like Coltrane or Parker. You also probably wouldn't like composers like Beethoven, Debussy or Stravinsky. I like a lot of music that has very few notes and has what you would define as 'depth'. But it would probably do you some good to open up your ears a bit.

  • That drum intro sounded like my old Ford trying to shut off

  • So awesome to see a great player on a 336. Killer tone, as well as playing!

(but props to the rest of the band as well. Great job!)

  • thanks, I'm going to make my table into a guitar

  • thanks, I'm going to make my guitar into a table.

  • Great stuff! I'd just like to point out his playing position. He has the strap short enough so that he doesn't have to support the neck with his hand. Anyone trying to play with their guitar slung down around their groin will never be able to attain this kind of fluidity, I don't care who they are.

  • One of the greatest musicians ever.

  • Everytime I see Brett play it's looks as though his fingers are barely touching the strings he's that graceful.

  • A great flippin' Garsed tune and a really nice version.......

very trippy to hear Virgil playing drums on it.......pretty wild at the outro......

  • I love how he plays the same song differently.

This is the 3rd version of Undoing I have heard. The main themes are obviously all there...he just plays them differently each time.

Which I like very much. They all convey a slightly different mood. Too many people are afraid to ad lib these days.

  • @mspumperer,

That's true about many NOT improvising much, but NOT many are as skilled at improvising at such a high level as Brett!

  • its crazy man

  • is the CS-336 smaller than a es-335??

  • it looks like a 339, cool stuff there!

  • much

  • Comment removed

  • yessir. slightly.

  • Whats the name of the song??

  • "Undoing" it says it in the description

  • I love how he plays with the intervals.

    Garsed is amazing

  • that was freakin awesome!

  • Brett embodies the phrase...."Put on Earth to play the guitar"......sheer genius and so humble its unreal!!

  • Wow the lick at 1:28 is insane. I bet I watched this lick 1000 times over and over.....

  • well well well........ tone, feeling... well well well :D

  • Brett is a master, he's amazing!!

  • I wish i had 1/10 of that talent.

  • he used to take lessons from me. i wonder what he was doing all those years i tried to teach the right hand technique... hope he gets it together some day

  • Captain, I sense a large amount of sarcasm in this sector!

  • I'm sensing the same vibes, I believe I was very very drunk at the time of the posting (as i am right now too).

I think you can't touch his playing even IF you nailed the same notes, it's his style and feel, and it's just so great

  • Brett totally rocks .... and I absolutely love the big sky album ....he deserves all the success :)

keep up the good work brett

    //KenHan - (sweden)
