The 2009 deficit would have been extremely high even if McCain had managed to win. Obama didn't destroy the economy. He was left with a massive disaster. Conservatives blame Obama over unemployment on one hand, but don't want govt to do anything about it on the other. Pure insanity...

If Christians only believe in the New Testament, then most conservative Christians must be full of crap. When talking about Homosexuality for example, Conservative Christians ALWAYS quote the Old Testament. Listen to the 700 Club sometime on the subject - it's almost always the Old Testament that's brought up because it isn't something that's really mentioned clearly in the New Testament.

Christ actually said "it's easier to pass a camel through the eye of a needle, than it is for a rich man to get into Heaven" (or some version of that depending on which translation you read), but Conservatives like O'Reilly, Beck, etc. all seem to think that means they can make a ton of money at the expense of others and they are more Christ like than me because hey, they walk into a building with a cross on it on Sundays.

Bill Maher knows a lot about the literal interpretations of the bible, but if you ask any religious scholar, they'll tell you the bible was never meant to be taken literally.
I can't understand how so many people can sit there and stomach the half truths and twisted facts that Bill Maher spits out of his mouth. I am impressed with how well they held their composure. Considering they are probably two of the most arrogant talk show hosts of all time, I almost expected an all out verbal attack from at least one of them...namely O'Reilly. You can find quotes of a seemingly religious nature from the Founding Fathers because many believed in "a god", but not the Christian God. Looking at the private writings of the Founders reveals their dismissal of Christianity.

The economy was in free-fall when Obama came into office. It's now improving at a steady pace. Conservatives the country over can't stand the guy though and have done everything to destroy his reputation so they could get back into power.

The 2009 deficit would have been extremely high even if McCain had managed to win. Obama didn't destroy the economy. He was left with a massive disaster. Conservatives blame Obama over unemployment on one hand, but don't want govt to do anything about it on the other. Pure insanity...

If Christians only believe in the New Testament, then most conservative Christians must be full of crap. When talking about Homosexuality for example, Conservative Christians ALWAYS quote the Old Testament. Listen to the 700 Club sometime on the subject - it's almost always the Old Testament that's brought up because it isn't something that's really mentioned clearly in the New Testament.
As for this interview, when placed against an intelligent person, O'Reilly shows his ignorance.

I can't understand how so many people can sit there and stomach the half truths and twisted facts that Bill Maher spits out of his mouth. I am impressed with how well they held their composure. Considering they are probably two of the most arrogant talk show hosts of all time, I almost expected an all out verbal attack from at least one of them...namely O'Reilly. A few civilized jabs here and there under a relatively calm debate was a nice change for them both in my opinion.

@applejelly2 A democracy is simply a system of government where the people, or a select group of people, vote individuals into power. Thus, the United States is by definition a Democracy. Whether it was/is a Constitutional republic is irrelevant and inconsequential.
You can find quotes of a seemingly religious nature from the Founding Fathers because many believed in "a god", but not the Christian God. Looking at the private writings of the Founders reveals their dismissal of Christianity.

Man it's great when Bill Maher brings up the point that Bush ran up the deficit astronomically with the (false) Iraq war..this is the point the Democrats and Independents don't throw in face of the teabagger Republicans..these hypocrite tea baggers are crying about deficits and out of control spending now..but they were nowhere to be seen from 2001-2008 when Bush was running up deficits with the Iraqi war and tax cuts for the rich and easing financial restrictions on Wall Street..NOW THEY CARE
