I recently got an accordion from a family friend that dates back to the 1920's. It sounds perfectly fine, but there's one problem I noticed - it only has two columns of keys on the left hand.
Because there's only the bass and major keys, I was wondering if it's possible to still play minor chords? Is there a way to alter songs (like this one) to where I can still play them? Or am I just unable to play any songs with minor chords?
dude- u rule- thanks- i learn quite a bit here and there from ur videos : ) i appreciate it. and im sooooo happy u put up beirut songs- i love beirut! so thank u! my only request- lol try not to move too much! makes it harder to see it- but it still works out great since u say wat ur doing out loud- thanks again! : ) look forward to ur future posts! : )
Thank you thank you so much for your accordion tutorials and especially for the Beirut songs!!! Don't their songs just melt all of our hearts? Your instructions are clear and easy to follow and I love the sound of your voice too!
I guess they must be rugged for it to have survived that and it still sounds good too! Funny, when you described what happened I could picture it in my mind and I had a feeling of deja vu. Weird!
No I mean it looks like the plastic broke off the treble register buttons. Hey I just got another accordion (I have eight now and two concertinas) it has 34 treble and 48 bass but at least it has full size keys. It was the cheapest on ebay. I've sorted out a couple little problems, but it sounds and plays pretty good. I like your white one, I suppose you trust it will be taken care of.
Yep :) The treble keys all broke off... I used to have a carrying case for the accordion on the back of my bicycle. The case broke while riding and the accordion went sliding across the street. When I picked it up, two of the buttons had fallen off.
I have a question for you.

The third fell off later...
Accordions are rugged instruments :)
