The rear end is the stock one. I put a 63' positraction unit in it, all you have to do is respline the axles from 33 splines to 30, that's it. It now has 3:42's positraction....Also, all 61-65 rear ends are the same except the 61/62 have 33 splines on the axles and the 63-65 have 30.
I have a 1963 buick wildcat power windows, breaks, and steering, all original paint, stereo, beautiful leather interior, and the wildcat nail head. My grandpa gave it to me, my step dad and i plan on working on it, it need a new exhaust, and maybe a new starter, but it is a nice car, and i never see them at car shows.
I just replaced the trans with the switch pitch T400. Just narrow the crossmember 5", get a flexplate from eelco, and shorten the driveline by 5" too. That's it. I was the first to do this back in 1985 when people said it coulnd't be done. The vacuum advance is the same, but need the specs to find which one I need. I do have 2 more complete sets of dual 4's... :)
@andyboeing747 Yes, I found an original dual quad distributor with the factory settings. I installed a pertronix point removal system, it makes for a better spark!
Beautiful car ! I bet it moves out nice.

my friend who is 16 has a 67 wildcat with a nail head. its a nice car very heavy though.

If it is a 67' it shouldn't have a nailhead in her. It would most likely be a 430 CID motor. The nailheads were from 1953-1966. :)
