This miniseries was produced by ABC/Disney as a "docudrama" to prop up Bush's State of the Union address on the last night. Just because you add fictionalized content, though, doesn't make outright lying about known facts OK. Other than that, stereotyping all Muslim characters with stary, googly eyed expressions like they are schizophrenic, and having so many of the women hysterical in so many scenes in which their professionalism is expected shows typical Disney racism and misogyny.
This docudrama is not about whos fault is it. Its not about democrats versus republicans. Its about the mistakes and the lack of communication within our government.
You should watch the trailer for the documentary "Blocking the path to 9/11". I love the part in which one of the people involved talks about how many people on the project were left of center, and they were worried that Bush will silence it. Turns out they didn't hear from Bush.
Say what you want about the trailer, the documentary is on both administrations. Yeah, obviously it'll focus more on those who screwed up the longest! Did Michael Moore's F9/11 focus on both administrations?
Watch out America. The Clintons made sure this movie was edited before it was released. Now this great movie can not be seen on DVD because it will make the Dems look bad. Is this the kind of freedom we can expect under the Democrats rule? Wake up America before it is too late. Bush did what Clinton should have done. Too many people are driven by the liberal media. Bush good! Clinton bad! Get it?
At least Clinton was constantly trying to kill Bin Laden. The US was safe because Bin Laden was constantly on the run. Bush said Bin Laden is a fly and did nothing. And so the US was attacked. What Bush did after we were attacked does not count. Any president would have retaliated.
@t8114jg regardless of whom you supported, Clinton lost the political capital to intervene in other countries after attempting it in Somalia. Its easy to speculate on the past and say good and bad but Clinton was no longer able to use the military to promote American interests. Besides it was not the Clinton administration that ignored Ahmad Shah Massoud's warnings in 2001...
If your current President doesn't care about capturing Osama Why do you? Why not blame Bush? Didn't the crime happen after Clinton and on Bush's watch? Isn't that when the criminals gets arrested usually, After the crime not before it? You need serious educating my friend.
Considering that if you've seen the movie, only two of the clips they show are actually about the Clinton administration (the "start a panic" bit being about the Bush administration), I can't help but think whoever wrote the Australian trailer severely missed the point.
I'd rather be accused of giving Clinton head then contradicting PHYSICS....
SOMETHING is not being said, there are holes in the official story, science proves that their claims are false, so if there was no conspiracy then why lie?
Yup, biggest fear after returning with the Eng. corp. in afgh was that some git would shoot down any evidence I have with something that someone else wrote!

Interesting... Joe is in denial like the rest of the "family values" porn-obsessed kool-ade drinkers.
It's been proven this "docu-drama" had no business even using part of the word "documentary." If you can prove otherwise, Joe, please present your point-by-point proof right here. Otherwise, begone, Mr. Porny!
If you're referring to the Sandy Berger scene, just replace him with George Tenet and have the team not surrounding the compound, merely ready to go, and you have the actual events.
If you're referring to the Barbara Bodine scene, it's all documented in a 2003 biography of O'Neill.
You seem fond of talking about BJs, what about the fact that bush let a gay prostitute have access to the White House on over 200 occasions? He was there during all hours and often never even checked out.
You Republican 'family values' people sure like to spout porn. Joe, your kid being in the Corps and your working in DC doesn't mean dookey. The facts are that this film MADE UP STUFF. It lied. It told an untrue version of events. So, whatever you need to believe so that you can live with yourself and Bush, please do so. But some of us respect the truth, the facts, and the people who died on 9/11.
Yeah, it's 'big news' isn't it? Thinking about Clinton's sexual life is kind of important to you, isn't it? Those 'family values' have you completely focused on other people's sex lives. Well, I'll leave you to your porny thoughts now.
This movie is the "Bread & Circus" for the sheeple of Dubya's Military Industrial complex, (What used to be the United States)...What did the Romans say?: Give them bread & circus and they won't notice the empire crumbling down....falling in free fall on it's own footprint.
And yet, Dubya's Military Industrial Complex can't manage to rig a Congressional election. Strikes me as pretty basic.
Actual controlled demolitions are from the bottom up, incidentally - just watch the demolition of any Las Vegas hotel - and that's not getting into how nobody noticed the buildings were being wired with that amount of explosives.
yeah, lets all waive our right with our flags and blame the dnc. hhhmmmm, who funded bin laden in the 80's? the cia under reagan. and kong of cool, bush didnt win the first time, get your facts straight, and while your at it, remove o'reillys phallus from your mouth.
If Bush didn't win the first time, why was he president?
It went to the Supreme Court (Because Florida ran out of laws to ignore) and they decided the election.
In your denial, hasn't it ever occurrred to you that if Gore was such a great leader, why did the people he represented in the Senate vote against him?
Now Dems are mad at the person they wanted as V.P. with Gore
As for flight 800, MANY people have problems with the govt's explanation. Spark in the fuel tank? Funny, planes have been engineered for a while now but this fatal flaw was overlooked? It only happened this one time? Sounds like BS to me. Why do we still allow so many of these flying death traps to operate without fixing the problem? The likelihood of it having been terrorism is FAR greater than your rosie scenario.
This from a guy who probably thinks the pentagon was hit by a cruise missile. And yes, I do mean egypt air where the co-pilot chanted to allah as he brought the passengers to their deaths. No terrorism there! Doesn't fit the profile at all, does it?
He sat in the classroom during the attack you piece of shit! I'm not talking about after. It is the duty of the Secret Service to protect the president. They let him sit there reading about a fricken goat for god's sake. Why? You are too stupid to even get it. Pull your head out of your ass!
results matter! Its been FIVE years. Where is Osama. I never cared about Saddam or Iraq or Iran. AQ attacked us, where is Osama. Bush didnt deliver in 5 years. That's incompetence
Not having another attack on our soil after 5 years is incompetence? I think your eye is on the wrong goal... Isn't our security the true key, whether by capturing, killing, or making operationally ineffective? Or is it success only if you have someone in custody (who might already be dead)?
First, there has been no credible threat (that we know of) that's been stopped. The Miami 7, the Buffalo cell and even the liquid bombers were blown way out of proportion and even aided and abbetted by our own intelligence agencies. Am I glad we haven't been attacked? Of course! I live 20 miles from NYC. But in the grand scheme of things, we're not "winning" this war. The ultimate objective is to kill more enemies than you create. Our foreign policy is creating more.
Actually, "conservatives" are more misinformed about world events than liberals. Haven't you seen the studies? Oh, right, you hate science!! Bully for you!
Bill Richardson, Aug '98: "You combine [ties between OBL and Sudan's MIC] with Sudan support for terrorism, their connections with Iraq on VX, and you combine that, also, with the chemical precursor issue, and Sudan's leadership support for Osama bin Laden, and you've got a pretty clear-cut case."
Sandy Berger (burgler?), Oct '98: "[W]e have information that Iraq has assisted chemical weapons activity in Sudan."
Let's just blame bush for everything. How is it that this attack had nothing to do with Bush's presidency and yet you bleeding heart liberals manage to bring in other issues totally unrelated? Katrina was a failure mainly on local Government and added to it Michael Browns incompetence and ignorance of his own job. Bush had to come in and kick them in the ass to get things started.
No, how about you all just put the appropriate blame on BOTH Clinton and Bush without making up conveyances of false images to sway a country over one of our most disatrous times. And Bush was eating cake, playing a guitar, and golfing on vacation while La. flooded.
Where the Saudis come into play IS the financing. Its alledged that the pages redacted from the Comgressional inquiry dealt with Saudis. Care to explain that? Or would that be engaging in "conspiracy theory"?
"Duh" is right! You're the one who asked the question and then forgot what you'd even asked. You didn't ask whether there was a point of investigating...LOL!
"...the indictment states that Al Qaeda reached an agreement with Iraq
not to work against the regime of Saddam Hussein and that they would work cooperatively with Iraq, particularly in weapons development." Just search Google with clinton bin laden saddam indictment as search terms
While the original indictment did refer to an Iraq-Al Qaeda connection, several months after it was handed down, then-assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Patrick J. Fitzgerald specifically removed from a subsequent indictment of bin Laden -- which superseded the original indictment -- the reference to an Iraq-Al Qaeda link after failing to substantiate that such a relationship existed.
Your indictment of Hillary Clinton is laughable. The Senateis not an intelligence gathering body. They take the intel they're given, hope it's accurate and base their position on that. The OSP is responsible for putting that belief in Congress' collective head; Not Hillary Clinton who was acting on the (bogus) intel the OSP and CTEG cooked up and cherry-picked. You wanna play this back and forth game? I'll upload the video of Condi and Colin saying in 2001 that Saddam was not developing WMD.
Yes, by 2004, BILL Clinton claimed (despite his Nov 98 indictment), "All I can tell you is I never saw [an Iraq-Al Qaeda link]."
Meanwhile, HILLARY Clinton said in 2002:
""In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaida members."
Comparing Clinton and Bush here is apples and oranges. Clinton's DoJ included the connection in the inidictment based on testimony then removed it when it fell apart. Bush, on the other hand, peddled a connection that simply did not exist and went to war based on that. Read the SSCI report: NO LINK.
You don't know how to look at dates, do you? 2002 is half a decade after Bill Clinton linked Iraq and Al-Qaida...yet Hillary was still out there saying that he has given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to Al Qaida terrorists. Guess you can't say there was backing off from the position until AFTER, huh? Hindsight is a terribly convenient way to be right.
Clinton linked them then dropped it once the source was proved unreliable. Fastforward 5 years, 9/11 happens and PNAC members who occupy important positions in the WH, DoD and State start "piecing together" intelligence on Saddams WMD's programs (OSP). Again, the Senate is NOT an intelligence gathering body. They rely on the intelligence. However when intelligence becomes politicized and hardnosed, you end up with a disaster like Iraq.
A selective memory only works on people who are dishonest, or can't handle facts.. like the outcome of the 2000 & 2004 election (Including the House & Senate)
Clinton was doing just fine before the GOP impeached him. You make fun of his performance but it was people like you that interfered and made him unable to concentrate on more important issues that a President has to deal with.
Clinton was an awful and undeserving president. He committed felony perjury, with no help from the GOP. Do you believe in equality under the law? His concentration was on getting rim jobs from interns. Bush sucks too, but unlike Clinton, he was elected by a majority, twice. Stop kissing Bill's ass, dude. It's UNCOOL.
I'm a LIBERTARIAN who would never vote for a Democrat or a Republican. I'm not a defendant of Clinton but I would vote for him over Bu$h anyday. I just don't like it when Bu$h supporters are trying to blame him for 911 when it clearly was Bush's fault. Now that's UNCOOL and shows signs of desperation from the wrong I mean right.
If anyone deserves blame it's Clinton. We were attacked so many times during his administration, including the first attempt on the WTC, and he did nothing.
The BU$HIES HAVE connections the the Bin-laden's not the Clinton's. George Herbert Bu$h was with a Bin Laden family member on 911!!! WAS HE NOT!? Take your Faux news headphones off already!!!
It didn't start under bush. Osama declared war on america in the 90s. I watched the interview. Bill didn't take it as seriously as he should have. He didn't want to. The economy has little to do with who's president. Credit for it goes mostly to the working people in the private sector. Anyway, the economy was improving when bill got into office, and declining before he left. It's very good now and has been for a long time. Ask europe.
You live in a bushie dreamland... right? I bet you will blame Clinton for a death in your family or even when you eventually die. What a loser all you neo-con fascist republicans are.
I'm really disappointed in Disney. First they took out the People Mover, Skyway, the original Rocket Ride, and the friggin Submarine ride. They absolutely decimated Tommorowland (made it all gold and lame). And now THIS propaganda? Sooo...it's Mickey "Maus" now?
Bush appointed the Commission, buddy. First he wanted Kissinger. Then, after it became known that he had Saudi clients, he stepped down. THEN, he appointed Kean who has Azerbijan oil connections but is still allowed to chair. THEN, he appoints Zelikow to the most important position -- Executive Staff Director. Zelikow is a top-notch Bush insider and when the families complained, nothing was done.
At least F9/11 was a documentary with verifiable sources. You might not like the interpretation but the Bush/Saudi/bin Laden connection is documented.
From what I see so far with Path, there is no documentary footage (except Clinton and Lewinsky, predictably) and the line between fact and fiction is so blurred that you can't distinguish.
When did he do that? And when did he manipulate that non-existant connection to lead the country into war based on fear that has destabilized the entire Middle East and emboldened our enemies all the while neglecting to capture Osama bin Laden after he attacked the homeland?
FEMA did its job during Katrina...the disaster plans are local. We need to go back to understanding that centralized national agencies aren't the way to run things....and start to hold local officials responsible if they don't proplerly enact their own disaster plans!
You are a sad, sorry young man if you can't even acknowledge Bush's supreme incompetence during Katrina.
I used to think Bushie was incompetent because he looked like a deer in the headlights for 7 MINUTES during 9-11. But he was a deer in the headlights for 5 DAYS during Katrina. That cemented his record as the worst president our country has ever endured.
Amen, Johnny. One thing though: he was deer in the headlights for seven minutes, but only on film. He stayed at the school til at least 9:35. Remember, he gave a press conference at 9:30 instead of getting on the horn to make sure that everything was under control. So the President was condemning terrorist attacks instead of trying to stop them. Worst. President. Ever.
The reponsibility for rebuilding the levees was federal -- Army Corps of Engineers to be specific. After a massive storm in 1996, SELA was formed and the reponsibility was transferred. However, the projects funding was diverted to pay for the War in IRAQ. Bush appointed a crony with no experience in emergency-response and it's all Nagins fault, right? Theres plenty of blame to go around, but a disater the magnitude of Katrina simply cannot be handled locally. Period.
How can some people watch this movie and not get insulted by false claims? Don't you get angry when you are obviously fed false propaganda. Doesn't it anger you that the Government thinks you're dumb enough to buy the crap they dish out? Do you still think Iraq has WMD's??? If you answer NO to all except the last question then keep on watching the movie and don't forget to watch the second pt tomorrow. I must be retarded then.
Is anyone going to actually watch this propaganda? Supposedly it bashes both sides. But, just remember, it's an ELECTION YEAR folks. TV is no longer for your "viewing pleasure", it's a massive propaganda tool used to keep you scared.
Bush 41 was a Houston oilman when the Bay of Pigs took place (1962) and when JFK was shot in 1963. That coup you allege in 1963 must have been from the democrat-side because that's who took power on Nov 22nd, the Johnson democrats.
FGYoung: Free speech and libel are two completely different legal concepts. Read a book sometime. The Constitution guarantees us free speech without government censorship. Libel and slander, collectively called defamation, are torts where one individual holds another accountable for falsehoods and smears. Two. Different. Things. Go to law school and then get back to me.
Dillinger123: Hee hee hee. Why don't you stomp your little feet and pee your pants while you're shouting obscenities and death threats. It couldn't make you look any more insane, angry, immature and fascist.
Dillinger123: false. Please stop taking Rush Limbaugh's drugs and realize that you're lying, you're being lied to, and some of us don't like lies. IOW, STFU, KTHXBYE!
If failing to get bin Laden is the reason to smear here, then how do you feel about Bush? He actually said he didn't spend that much time thinking about him, let him escape at Tora Bora, diverted resources out of Afghanistan into Iraq, where bin Laden ISN'T, and sits by in tacit agreement with Pakistan when they agreed not to get him. I thought tough guy Bush didn't distinguish between states that sponsored terror and terrorists themselves. We were suckers to believe that.
Plenty of facts have been stated with cited sources YOu just choose to ignore them. I do hope that they cover the financial part about the Put options on both United and American Airlines days before 9-11. Who did finally come collect the profits on them? Hmmmm...
Actually I didn't watch it. It also seemed very biased and not worth my time. But you do make a good point and a good comparison. My biggest concern with either one of these "documentaries" is when they are unfair, contain misinformation and the people watching them don't question the validity or consider the source.
As for your name calling... well that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion.
Always remember, some of the people you are confronting here are working for the gov't just to post against people who are WAKING UP! So when somebody says that 9/11 was not an inside job, they either A:work for the gov't, or B:have note done the research!
And you get yours from disingenuous spinmeisters and the propaganda ministry that masquearades as a cable news network. What's your poin?. At least Colbert and Stewart are honest. They may be satirists but they're not the DNC bitch like Limbaugh/Hannity are to the GOP.
The GOP regime at the time did not let Clinton do his job properly because of the G.O.P pressure with the whole Monica thang. The G.O.P even made fun of Clinton during "OPERATION DESERTFOX")Remember that one? They said he acted to take attention away from Impeachment.
So, you are saying that it's perfectly alright to mislead a Grand Jury about criminal charges, because to actually act with integrity too much to expect from a President...and so when you evade criminal charges by lying, the opposing party should not hold it against you because it might interfere with the way you run the country? WOW, what Clintonian reasoning!
When did I downplay Clinton's false Lewinsky testimony? To this I would say that, although lying to a grand jury is a serious charge, "misleading" the American public into a war based on knowingly false information (yellowcake - 2003 SoTU) is far worse. Even worse than that is sanctioning a wiretap program that violates the 1st and 4th amendments. Even worse than THAT is sanctioning torture then overriding the Congress anti-torture bill with a signing statement.
Harvey harvey harvey. What the hell were you doing getting mixed up in a properganderous piece of tripe like this? Must be desperate for dollars? The whole thing makes me wanna find a little island somewhere and disappear. "The horror... the horror..."
bush ignored the memos and warnings. It was his fault. I wonder why NORAD failed to scramble interceptors that day? I wonder why the Secret Service didn't whisk bush away to safety during the attacks? They must have known he was safe. I wonder how they knew that?
At least he tried which is more than Bush has done. Didn't Bush let Bin'Ladens family out of the U.S right after 911? Should he have held them for questioning? Bush has said on tape that he doesn't care about Bin Laden any more why do you?
Yea blame Clinton for 911...Remember the movie "Minority Report? Pre0cog/Pre-crime? This is like a bad version of "Minority Report"! Bush/Cheney are responsible for 9/11, One LET it happen, The other MADE it happen. Bush got the warnings and he goes on a month long vacation, then when the attacks do occur?, He sits on his ass just like he sat on his ass during the KATRINA debacle.
Abramoff jail-53 Congressmen under investigations Cunningham jail Sufarian jail Sears store detective given #3 CIA man job under investigation Tom Noe 53 Felony Counts. 3 Homeland Security officers arrested for pedophilia. Frist SEC investigations Lied before the MD board Nomination for Director of Women's Studies- Dr. that says it's okay to rape own wife. Bernie Kerik - mafia etc etc etc Which side of the three factions are we suppose to take in Iraq in order to win?
... in terms of conveying how the Clinton administration handled its opportunities to get bin Laden, it's "100 percent factually correct," he said. "I was there with Clinton and (National Security Adviser Sandy) Berger and watched the missed opportunities occur," Buzz Patterson declared.
So wait, who was president when 9-11 happened? Oh yeah, Bush. That'd be like blaming the head coach of a team for a mistake the assistant coach made while he was out sick. Pitiful
Or a new head coach at a college for the Seniors he didn't recruit. Lots of time pointing fingers and no realistic solutions. Everyone is to blame, including the folks who only see just one side.
Clinton ordered a missile attack on binLaden, the Republi-cons whimpered "Wag the dog."
The Bushistas had advance warning of a major terrorist attack and made sure we didn't stop it, while preparing to take political advantage the Hitler did of the Reichstag Fire.
If the GOP has nothing to hide, why are they fictionalizing the events 9/11? For the same reason that they fought an investigation into 9/11 and why Bin Laden is still free 5 years after 9/11: The GOP is unfathomably incompetent on national security & the midterm elections (where the American people will overwhelmingly hand the GOP their asses) is in a few weeks. The media will constantly enable Bush no matter how many lives are lost on his watch and regardless of how weak the USA becomes.
And nor does it exempt yours from using a tradegy in her city to call other Americans traitors and terrorist sympathizers. Especially ones that had no problem joining the military as the you yell WAR WAR WAR, but fail to make that trip to the recruiters office.
Exactly LTDee! The warmongers on this forum are not willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for their cause. However, they don't have a problem with other people doing their dying. They are such hypocritical cowards.
Still with that stupid, illogical "chickenhawk" argument. Aren't you people tired of looking like idiots by now? By your standards, no one can have an opinion of anything unless they're personally taking part in it. I suppose I can't be for better law enforcement unless I become a cop. Morons.
I've been in both and experienced both and your telling me although you've done neither, you know more than me?
And it's kind of hard for me to hold a .50cal now, since a drunk driver slammed into my police cruiser and broke my neck, but if the Army can accomodate my disabilities, I'll go back in even in I am in my mid 40's, like you.
First of all, I served 5 years active duty and 21 years with the VA taking care of veterans, so don't even try to measure your public service dick against mine. Secondly, you didn't answer my question: Is American citizen not allowed an opinion on the use of our armed forces unless they're a member? It's a simple yes or no fuckhead.
Whether you are anti-Bush or not, it's intellectually dishonest to pretend that Bin Laden did not exist and have violent plans against America until Jan. 20, 2001.
O.K. Well, Al-Qaida was created in 1988. What about the years between 1988 and Jan. 20, 2001 when Clinton gave Bush a report when transistioning office? Was Bin-Laden only stoppable after Bush took the presidency? I'm not understanding your statement.
Don't worry LVNVUSA, he doesn't understand it either. Just parroting some talking point he picked up at democratic undergrounf or some other batshit crazy site.
How many Americans died under the Clinton administration either as a result of terrorist attacks or as American troops in combat? Now, how many Americans have died under the bush administration either as a result of terrorist attacks or as American troops in combat? Do the math!
Buzz Patterson , a former military aide to President Clinton who claims he witnessed several missed opportunities to capture or kill Osama bin Laden "I was there with Clinton and (National Security Adviser Sandy) Berger and watched the missed opportunities occur," Patterson declared.

If only Clinton had taken care of it in the 1990s.

Joe, a 'documentary' does not contain wholly fabricated facts that are aired as truth. You can't be that much of a fool, can you?
kimonthejourney 5 years ago
My kid is in the USMC. I worked in DC. The story is correct. Everyone, who doesn't suck Clinton's cock, know that.
Sorry to be so graphic.

That fact the he allowed an intern to blow him in the Oval Office is big news.

Not having another attack on our soil after 5 years is incompetence? I think your eye is on the wrong goal... Isn't our security the true key, whether by capturing, killing, or making operationally ineffective? Or is it success only if you have someone in custody (who might already be dead)?
Gondring 5 years ago
First, there has been no credible threat (that we know of) that's been stopped. The Miami 7, the Buffalo cell and even the liquid bombers were blown way out of proportion and even aided and abbetted by our own intelligence agencies. Am I glad we haven't been attacked? Of course! I live 20 miles from NYC. But in the grand scheme of things, we're not "winning" this war. The ultimate objective is to kill more enemies than you create. Our foreign policy is creating more.

"...the indictment states that Al Qaeda reached an agreement with Iraq
not to work against the regime of Saddam Hussein and that they would work cooperatively with Iraq, particularly in weapons development." Just search Google with clinton bin laden saddam indictment as search terms
Gondring 5 years ago
While the original indictment did refer to an Iraq-Al Qaeda connection, several months after it was handed down, then-assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Patrick J. Fitzgerald specifically removed from a subsequent indictment of bin Laden -- which superseded the original indictment -- the reference to an Iraq-Al Qaeda link after failing to substantiate that such a relationship existed.
ChurchCommittee 5 years ago
Nice try though.
ChurchCommittee 5 years ago

Gondring 5 years ago
Your indictment of Hillary Clinton is laughable. The Senateis not an intelligence gathering body. They take the intel they're given, hope it's accurate and base their position on that. The OSP is responsible for putting that belief in Congress' collective head; Not Hillary Clinton who was acting on the (bogus) intel the OSP and CTEG cooked up and cherry-picked. You wanna play this back and forth game? I'll upload the video of Condi and Colin saying in 2001 that Saddam was not developing WMD.
ChurchCommittee 5 years ago
Yes, by 2004, BILL Clinton claimed (despite his Nov 98 indictment), "All I can tell you is I never saw [an Iraq-Al Qaeda link]."
Meanwhile, HILLARY Clinton said in 2002:
""In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaida members."
Gondring 5 years ago
Comparing Clinton and Bush here is apples and oranges. Clinton's DoJ included the connection in the inidictment based on testimony then removed it when it fell apart. Bush, on the other hand, peddled a connection that simply did not exist and went to war based on that. Read the SSCI report: NO LINK.
ChurchCommittee 5 years ago
You don't know how to look at dates, do you? 2002 is half a decade after Bill Clinton linked Iraq and Al-Qaida...yet Hillary was still out there saying that he has given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to Al Qaida terrorists. Guess you can't say there was backing off from the position until AFTER, huh? Hindsight is a terribly convenient way to be right.
Gondring 5 years ago
Clinton linked them then dropped it once the source was proved unreliable. Fastforward 5 years, 9/11 happens and PNAC members who occupy important positions in the WH, DoD and State start "piecing together" intelligence on Saddams WMD's programs (OSP). Again, the Senate is NOT an intelligence gathering body. They rely on the intelligence. However when intelligence becomes politicized and hardnosed, you end up with a disaster like Iraq.

Amen, Johnny. One thing though: he was deer in the headlights for seven minutes, but only on film. He stayed at the school til at least 9:35.
