阿 is pre-name particle in Mandarin, and 亞 is Cantonese. (Different tones)
But most people would use 阿 in the written language. Being a purist I can of course not do that...

By the way, is it supposed to be 阿明 and not 亚明 in the subtitles? I know they sound similar in Cantonese, but still...
