Hearing her sing somehow makes the world a wonderful place for a few minutes... even if her voice isn't as good as it used to be. But it doesn't matter. It's still Julie Andrews singing :)

Is this true, or some rumored memory I have...is it true that Julie Andrews had some kind of surgery or had cancer or whatnot, and they didn't think she would ever sing again? I remember my mom mentioning it to me when I wa little, but I can't remember! SORRY IF THIS SOUNDS WEIRD!!! I just want to know if it was true or not :)

what you heard is true: Julie Andrews was forced to quit "Victor/Victoria" towards the end of the Broadway run in 1997, when she developed vocal problems. She subsequently underwent surgery to remove non-cancerous nodules from her throat and was left unable to sing. It believe it took her about 2 years to regain her singing voice, but she never reached her earlier potential!

No voice in earth has made me cry these tears. It is truly wonderful too see her singing again, I was there live and I have never heard a voice like that Susan Boyle can well do her own thing, but Julie has a whole class to her self becuase no one has been close to her talents.

HazieRox, you might be practically crying but I am in absolute tears. I wish they did this in NY. I would pay anything to see this amazing woman sing live in front of me. It must have hurt her deep down listening to someone else hit that amazing note that she hit at the end of this song. That is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. When she puts her hand on her head and makes that note. Ever since I heard her sing again in Princess Diaries 2, I cry everytime I hear her. She is the best!!!

It is such a joy to hear Julie Back singing again! She may not have her old voice, but she still sounds amazing and makes me smile and brings tears to my eyes! She is amazing and it is such a shame that she can't sing like she used to but, but she is so inspiring for carrying on and never giving up! Love her, She is the ultimate star! Can't believe she is in her 70s, she seems so much younger!
