If my memory serves me correctly, #734 was being refurbished in 1994 so a Baltimore & Ohio Diesel built by the montreal locomotive works was running the trains. Glad to see #734 back in action. She is quite a beauty.
When the Petersburg event was coming up, I asked them if they would want a B&O whistle since they would be operating on B&O rails. They were very generous to accept and actually use the whistles. Countless thanks to everyone there. Please continue to support them with paid ridership or donations.
The B&O 6 chime is mine. At the start of the season, it did sound rough. Kevin (one of the engineers) adjusted the bell to clear up the sound and it sounds INCREDIBLY AWESOME! I have not tried to post video of it on YouTube as I don't know how. The railroad also has my B&O 3 chime (both on loan) and has had it on the engine last year as well.
They killed it, don't you hear how bad it is in this video? Their stupid playing with the whistle coming into the station ruined it. It got worse than this too, started to squeak and everything.

WHAT IN HELL DID THEY DO WITH THE GOOD WHISTLE?
Did one of those CRIMINALS up there in that HELL HOLE called
"Cumberland" SELL IT OFF?
4freespeech 1 year ago
@4freespeech - Nope, the owner of the whistle took it back and now, it has the B&O 6-Chime on it...

@trainmaster844 "The owner of the whistle took it back?" Why am I not surprised.
The B&O is OK but the Hancock "steamboat whistle" made those mountains
ring with melody. Reminded me of the old whistle on the Kelly Springfield Tire
factory that blew every shift for like 75 years until it shut down. Wonder who got
that whistle? They should put it on 734 and blow it, except all the old laid-off
Kelly employees and the rest of us who heard it daily would start crying for
days long past & gone.
