@77Aussie What camera are you using? Nice sharp images and lovely colour. I do a bit of filming a little upstream from here but was down looking at the bats yesterday and thought I'll have to drop by with my camera when the weather gets a bit warmer. Hope to put together something on tiger snakes and other yarra wildlife later in the year. cheers
@pseudechis I'm using a JVC GZ-HM330. It's an entry level camera, but it has a 30x zoom and all the write-ups say that it is a good camera. It takes good video on a tripod, but I'm not happy with the stabilization when doing free-hand. As for tiger snakes, I'm sure there are plenty around that area. I saw one on another day down stream at Dight's Falls.
@charonbond They do fan themselves to keep cool and the noticeboard at the site actually mentions this. I found that they don't seem to mind the presence of people, but it's probably a different story if you try to climb the same branch they are on. You wouldn't want to pat one though, as some are known to carry a virus that can be deadly to humans if transmitted through a bite or scratch. Thanks for complimenting my vid. : )
Some beautiful footage in here...great work.

This is a really cool video. When they flap one of their wings, is it to keep cool? They dont seem to mind the golf course in the back.
