@TheRealZethM I'm still working on it, but I don't think it's going to be finished this year. It's a lot more work than I thought. Mostly on the art side. I'm also going back and revamping a few things, like having modable weapons (which people seem to enjoy in newer zombie games) I'll post an update soon. Might create a website so people can donate to motivate me to work :P

Very sorry for the double post, but I had to say I hate all the pokemon references too. But they are all made by kids for sure. Also, I was wondering if depending on your character there would be a different beginning to the game, different monologue and maybe you start off in a different house/town near by? Does the sprite you choose actually effect dialogue?

@JayPCM Well, right now there are a few dialogue changes depending on character. But I still need to go back and revamp all of them, so in the end, yes probably. I plan to go back through the entire game when the main quest line is finished and add TONS of hidden things and references. Thanks for the encouraging comments also :)

Ya, a zombie themed game should NOT have turn based combat, you have a nice base but you really have to fix how you fight zombies

@Simpliztic Thanks man. It's coming along very slowly (been busy). I used a few of the default tiles, but I'm weeding them out as I go, adding what I need etc. I'll send you a message with a good sprite creator. I used it to make the base sprites, then I tweak them in photoshop. Thanks for the interest. It's great to hear comments that don't involve the word pokemon.

Like being able to fight Nemesis, Wesker, Hannibal Lecter, the SHONAN II AI system from System shock 2, the baby from eraserhead, Alma from FEAR, Michael Myers, Hellraiser, pyramid head, or even giygas from earthbound! Guest characters would be an awesome addition for certain segments too! Like chris redfield, HUNK, Ness, the guy from Condemned 2, and Rick from splatterhouse!

Sounds amazing man! I actually would prefer the sprite battle layout, sortof like chrono trigger right? That sounds like a REALLY good solution to me. Also weapon customizations sounds like a really good way to get progressively cooler gear as the game goes on. Btw it'd be amazing to have bosses be horror references too!

Btw I do have to agree that it looks sortof like pokemon, but NOT in a bad way. It actually encorperates all the good parts, and I do see a lot of final fantasy and zelda in it too. Keep at it man!! Btw I loled at the "boomstick," and "doubletap," attack commands, nice. Reference "system shock 2," "Resident evil," "Nosferatu, 1922" "dead space," and disturbed please!!

I am loving the visual style man!! It looks amazing!! The lighting effects and all, I would love the music to be a little creepier though. Also I'm loving the very RPGesque battle system, just visually it's not looking so good. I also caught the horror movie references, and that might just make the game for me right there, show some love to some famous horror VIDEOGAMES too, and this will blow my mind!

@theSneakySasquatch Thanks man. I definitely will be adding A LOT more references. The first thing I plan on revamping when I get back to work is weapon creation system like Dead Rising 2. As for the battle system. I agree, the art is crap. I'm planning on making all of the battle images for enemies look like the in game sprites. It's a lot easier on me that way as well. I'm not a great artist. There is plenty of creepy music in it also. The track I used for this teaser is just the battle music.

I might end up doing the enemies as pixel sprites cuz I can do them myself. The tileset is very custom. I basically raided all the best bits from every set I could find and added a lot of my own stuff (blood smears etc.)
