But he is hardly as popular and well known as someone like Robbie Williams or Elton John, which is really sad as some of the nonsense churned out by these people gets totally unnecessary accolades, while good old Mike is only known by people with truly good taste, which in a way is good to as in this way he can concentrate on his music rather than publicity that will corrupt it.

Mike Oldfield is beyond doubt the greatest musician ever. the range of his music from comedy to hard rock to sweet love songs to out of the world tunes is something no musician has ever been capable of doing. Even the titles of his songs are legendary quotes.
