i do a lot of pastel chalk landscapes. but i want to give you a few tips. when you do your first coat do it lightly and soft.. then go over it again and again( be patient) and do lighting and shadowibng last ....and try to not use secondary colors like orange and green. instead of useing that color mix two colors to make that green or orange
A major coinsidence that I used pastels today and it was the first time I thought to use cotton swabs. This is an excellent Basics tutorial. Draw what you see, not what you know.

Thanks. We are planning to try using toothpicks, toothbrushes and even coins to add effect.
