@doodleguitarist Your cousin is very near correct. This song is way up there but I'd say Revolution Nine by the Beatles is freakier for recreational herb use =P
beatles are more historical, maybe better... PF is......is.....even just the wall is something will make cry the most strong and cold-heart dude, will make the most weak person feel strong, will make you angry with no reason, will calm you with no reason, will make you nazi, will stop you from being nazi, it will make you to use drugs, and it will make you stop from them.....that is pink floyd, mainly "the wall", and A LOT more....
@xXxMartin96xXx Well I agree completley with your statement but that was like 90% bias. I love both The Beatles and Pink Floyd (and Led Zeppelin xD) because they both have songs and albums that just compel you in different ways. I enjoy exploring old and new bands for these traits. The fact is according to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the Beatles are # 1.
@xXxMartin96xXx I agree with ypu completely, I laugh when people try to interpret this project (album and movie) it's one of those things that's simply a different masterpiece for every individual.

The music of Pink Floyd resonates with many truth seekers and mind explorers who delve into the unknown. If you are a truth seeker, search "Truth Contest" in Google and click on the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says. Everyone needs to see this. The Present will turn this world right-side up if it reaches enough people. You will see what I mean when you read the first page.
My dad said he use to go out in the bush with his mates when he was high as a kid and turned off all of the lights and played this full bolt. He said it use to scare the shit out of him.
@hungrymonsterman No. This album was more about how Roger Waters was insidiously becoming more jaded to his fans and reclusing himself from everyone. Sid helped in forming the dilusional aspect but Pink's distant father, school life, and distain for the music business all stemmed from Water's life and handling of fame.

Although it's not even Dave Gilmour playing guitar this has to be one of my favourite Floyd songs ever! Composed by Bob Ezrin with Ron Di Blasi playing the classical guitar.... Hauntingly beautiful. A 2 chord masterpiece!
I LOVE this song- and I need to ask that question when the prediction for the end of the world happen! like today May 21, 2011~ LOL I have to ask about 11:00am and again!

@IAMTHEPIGG I think every Pink Floyd fan heard that classic!!!:)) but yeah if they haven't that's something they should start with...when you start there's no getting out.
I feel like this guy: always trying to destroy the wall that keeps me outside the world but everytime I try, nothing happens, and I try again untill I lose my mind.
@turkniktout Me too, not much time ago i was finally about to be outside the wall but some how I end up inside again. Im climbing my way out but it's dificult, it is too high.
@juanchotazo11 I think that people like us never really go out, we are at the top of the wall sometime but when life thinks that it's enough, we get pushed in the other side of the wall and we're alone, one more time.
@turkniktout What's really bothering me is that I dont know when or how i got in, I started thinking and i realised that i've allways been behind it, sometimes more than others.
@MissMileysFan1 more than that...the greatest of all time....the beatles are the most influential band ever...but Pink Floyd's music reached S.F...it's supernatural....it's MAGIC....I really think only men with supernatural powers can compose music like Pink Floyd...it's more than music...it's a feeling..an emotion...it's like you're living the song

@MrBART024 Thanks a lot, MrBart. I meant YES, I CAN play this song, even though the initial positions were difficult for a beginner. Thank you so much for your support!
I got this song tab for my guitar tutor. I didn't know that song before. When I had learned it, I was going to listen the original version. I was terrified. This video clip is very frightening, and the song is the saddest that I ever heard and played on guitar.
Dammit, I wish my house had full surround sound stereo around it so I could blare this whenever I'm home alone. Just to sit and gaze into space, getting sucked in by eerie feelings (the good kind, not emo).
I can play the whole song on acoustic as well, It's probably one of my favorites to play with my effects pedal set on reverb and a kind of stradivarius kind of effect
