  • Hanford???

  • Those who put the bible together , never wanted his human side to be shown, all the human things he did were never put in the bible as theyre only attent was to make all see him as holy only. We know only a few years of his life, it's tragic other writings of him are not part of the bible. When reading lost gospels are not lost, just never included in the bible by men. Christ spent so much time traveling the world, I am sure he much to say, and many much to say about him we MAY never know.

  • I don't think Jesus was funny. How can you laugh when millions of your children are in all kinds of bondage, and are in danger of eternal damnation. The time to laugh hasn't come for him yet! There is a whole creation to redeem.

  • @kongolise

    well said.

  • @kongolise so do you think god is ever happy or that jesus was happy and joyful?

  • Jesus invented 9gag....

  • Wouldn't that be awesome to see Jesus laugh! A smiling, witty Jesus! Cool!

  • Thank you, once again, Mr. Driscoll for another inspiration (as funny as it sounds) at this time in my life.

  • im not religious but this guy is a good public speaker.

  • @GameAnarchy4Life

This man is against religion, brother. so was Jesus!

  • I have very little doubt that Jesus had a sense of humor. But I do not think the verses Pastor Mark quotes are actually jokes, except maybe the one about the plank in our eyes.

  • RELIGION

  • Sorry to be a party pooper but the fact is that millions of people every day are still heading for a pit and we are still squarely missing the Target as servants that should be desperately seeking to save our brethren from hell. There isn't a day that goes by we shouldn't be ashamed and sober about that fact. That just my opinion. Praise our messiah for being serious about our eternity enough to be tortured and killed for us while we still don't for others.

  • @TadFortitude THat's true; but Jesus also took the time to attend in conversations, parties, be alone with his 12 disciples, etc.

  • @TadFortitude

Yes I agree. Jesus said woe to those who laugh now!

  • It's easy for is to laugh at things because we don't know what we are doing. Bit I'm pretty sure if God spoke audibly to you about your approaching death. You walked with Satan while starving and being tempted by the prince of darkness in the desert for 40 days, and understood that the weight of all mankind rested squarely on your shoulders. I think you might begin to understand that because he was Fully God and Not just fully manx that he knew not one second of his ministry here was funny.

  • @TadFortitude

    I totally agree with you.

  • I think the Mel Gibson depiction of Jesus was accurate in "Passion of the Christ". The scenes with his mother, playing a joke.

  • 6:30-6:32 So "the Christ, the Son of God" means "Bullwinkle," right?

  • Jesus is a George Carlin fan

  • JEBUS

  • We are made in His image so it makes sense He has a humorous side. Jesus was a masterful teacher who wove stories, striking mental pictures and humorous delivery which are as relevant today as when He walked among us.

  • jesus is your god and you make funny 4 your god fucking christian

  • "maybe the mark of a true christian is someone you can eat chicken wings with and chew poo with?.."

    did i hear that right?

regardless, great sermon. i do overlook this aspect of jesus frequently. thanks!

  • @butlikereally .... "shoot pool with" is what he said. "chew poo," lol, it does sound like that is what he said.

  • Haha! Love Mark Driscoll!.

Fun fact: The hebrew word for "camel" is also the same hebrew word for "large thread" or "rope". So when Jesus makes the point about rich people not entering into Heaven He never actually said a camel. He said a "large thread" or "rope". Blame the translators.

  • God, has a sense of humor I know it from my personal experience

  • To be fully human, a human must attain all passions, feelings, and emotions. The Christian bible says he was half human, half God. Or a human with God-like properties. But with that god-like aspect, he must have threw away the humor part of his human emotion.

  • @Shrumins

He was not half human and half God. He was FULLY human and FULLY God. Something we will never completely understand as long as we live on Earth.

  • @iluvdng07 Wait...do you not know maths? Let Full=100%. 100+100=200. Jesus was not 200% anything. He was 50% human, 50% God, therefor 100% being.

  • @Shrumins

Ok, the problem is you are using human logic to describe Jesus. The Bible says he was fully God and fully man, not half and half. You are right, Jesus wasn't 200% anything; he was 100% God and Man, but that doesn't mean he was 50/50. Go read Colossians 1:15-20 (pay special attention to vs. 19). Also read Colossians 2:8-9 and Hebrews 1:3. These explain Jesus being fully God and why you shouldn't use human logic to understand him. Also read John 1:1,14. These explain his humanity.

  • Acts 19:32 - "The assembly was in confusion: Some were shouting one thing, some another. Most of the people did not even know why they were there." I Lol'ed irl when i read that the other day.

  • he's a satanist 9:15

  • Damm look how much the church corruopt the Bible the book of God ! The make look Jezus aleyhi salam look like he is a bully ! StagfourAllah A prophet is making fun of a believer or Bulling him ? Thats not humour for prophets..!! Im not saying Jezus as dind had a humour bud dont think he (as) had this kind of one ! May god forgive me if am wrong Peace be upon All to You ! Salam Aleykum

  • "There were ten foolish virgins..."

No, there is no such thing as a foolish virgin, for more than ten minutes.

  • Wow, who gave this guy a microphone? I suppose next he’s gonna say that Jesus was joking about the whole repentance thing and the going to hell for eternity is a big punch line.

But here are a few things God laughs at:

    1) dictators like Hitler who want to take over the world (Psalm 2:1-4)

    2) people who are wicked and hate the truth (Psalm 37:12-13)

    3) people who trust in their great wealth as opposed to God (Psalm 52:5-7)

    4) people who conspire to harm God’s chosen people (Psalm 59:6-8)

  • @Comforter2000 I think you're missing the point.

  • @Earthfart No, I get the point. It's just offensive to me as a Christian, and this "preacher" is misleading people. Jesus was not trying to be funny so that He could fit in with the crowd and His disciples. Of course, if I want to be this "middle of the road" type of new age "Christian," then I would want to believe that Jesus was just another cool, hip guy like the "Christians" are today in America.

  • @Comforter2000 So, in your mind, Jesus didn't have a sense of humor? Never danced, laughed, told a funny story or joked around?

  • @Earthfart Jesus may very well have had a sense of humor. I just don't read about it in the Bible. So taking some passages and making them out to be jokes is, i think, stretching it.

  • @Comforter2000 I dunno, I see a lot of sarcasm and snarky comments in scripture, some from the mouth of Jesus Himself.

I have a hard time picturing Jesus as ultra-somber and zombie like, only speaking when it was time to teach.

Not that seriousness doesn't have its place, but its hard to be a light to others when you're always like > :|

  • If you have no sense of humor then you must lead a miserable life that will require years of therapy. I hope... that when i get to heaven God slams the door in my face... and then opens it and says... "I'm just josh'n ya... come on in!"

  • @jkc0721 LOL that would be funny yet scary at the same time

  • There is nothing disrespectful about acknowledging the humanity of Jesus.

People insisting on Christ as a monotone stiff-upper-lipped drone seem to think this depiction is somehow more "holy." Not true at all.

  • Jesus was a "master of wordplay"? Doesn't this make one wonder why he didn't write anything?

  • No English people are jsut not funny. nd they're boring.

  • I saw a part of another video a couple a weeks ago that was saying Paul had humor too. I can't imagine Jesus or Paul, or any other Apostle or believer, who has come to the knowledge of the Truth, joking around and laughing on the topic while millions plunge into hell every day.

There was a mention of "stuck up Sunday school people" and "being cool to hang with". Christians are to be set apart, separate from the world. Not the same thing as "stuck up", but also not making light of seriousness.

  • Visualizations of some of his parables, like the one mentioned about hypocrisy, are certainly amusing, but Jesus wasn't a comedian. Go read the descriptions of hell, and the fate of the lost. Imagine that kind of future for loved ones who never came to the truth. The teachings of Jesus give us salvation and keep us out of hell. It is no laughing matter.

  • I don't know about this. There are some statements Jesus made that I did think were funny, for example when he asked if the people went out to the wilderness to see a reed blowing, but there was a point to all these statements. He wasn't joking; everything he said is revealing the will of the Father. It's serious business. Also, he hung out with sinners to save them, not because he loved shooting pool with them. The disciples all treated Jesus with reverence, and so should we.

  • Didn't jesus teach about being humble and being simple, not wearing $200 designer jeans from A&F that already have a rip in them for stupid fashion reasons?

  • @tehkrustybanjoboy Jesus taught on grace. what clothes you wear does not really matter. I used to think like that too, but Jesus wasn't a legalistic guy who had a bunch of rules. he was against the rules.

  • @johnie4uscarolina: Jesus was against the rules? "I have not come to destroy the Law but to fulfill it"? Writing the 10 Commandments, but He was against the rules?

  • @alniea He was against the rules of that modern day. Jesus didn't preach on the 10 commandments, instead he gave two new commandments: Love God, and Love everyone else. Paul went on to solidify that stance saying that we are not under the Law anymore, but we are under the Law of Grace. However, the Law shows us that we are sinful. With Jesus Christ living inside of you, you don't want to sin because he died for sins. However, if you are to sin, God is faithful and just to forgive you.

  • @johnie4uscarolina Then why did He follow every single rule God commanded Moses?

  • @Comforter2000 Because the Law shows us our sin. If Jesus didn't follow the Law, he would have sinned. However, that is different for us! No matter how hard you try to live a perfect life abiding by the Law, you will always fail! The Bible tells us that the Law is not for Christians, but for un-believers! We dont abide by the law, instead we abide IN Jesus Christ! When we abide in Jesus Christ, we have the choice to follow the flesh or to follow our new Spirit!! Don't be legalist! Jesus wasn't!

  • @johnie4uscarolina If we love and follow Jesus Christ, we follow His commandments a.k.a. His law. (John 14:23)

  • @Comforter2000 but what is His law?

  • @johnie4uscarolina I think the new testament writers made it clear that His law is that we love God and love one another. These seem like two simple things...but these are two laws that automatically imply some things that we can and cannot do. Not only imply, but Apostle Paul and John and Jesus Himself taught what was right and wrong.

  • @Comforter2000 Yeah! the Law that God has in our hearts is to love Him and one another. you're right that Paul, John, Jesus, James, and Peter all wrote about the behavior of a Christian. if you have $15 dollars to spare i would love for you to go buy a book called "God without religion" by Andrew Farley! It has completely changed my view on the Bible and on Jesus. The man speaks nothing but truth. I would love for you to get it

  • Are you serious? Jesus was a stupid desert dweller from 2k years ago. All religion is absurd! You fucken moron!!!!!

  • Look at ZOMGitsCriss god is funny.

That is an absolutely brilliant video illustrating all the humour in religion, You don't have to be stuffy and humourless. You can have a laugh as well!

  • the movie the gospel of mathew shows Jesus with a sense of humor. You can see it here on youtube.

  • Very true Jesus had a sense of humor...He made Mark Driscol didn't He..lol. But just as the "Rich Young Ruler" couldn't unload his great wealth, a camel must unload what it is carrying in order to pass though small opening in the mountain. "Eye of the Needle" WE must unload what we are carrying (heavy burdens) to enter the Kindom of Heaven. Context... Mark....context.

  • As him being GOD in the flesh, and GOD is all good things and GOD is love....I am sure jesus was hilarious. Look at MATT 9:27-31. He heals two blind men and says "See that no one knows about this". lol dude... I would have laughed so hard.

  • ha-ha!! i love this!!

  • "Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14).

  • pretty sure im the only person who got the hanford joke...

  • @jc4you hehe, nah, I got it too...just forgot this is worldwide and some outside the area may not know what Hanford is.

  • The Urantia Book gives the best Treatise of the complete life of Jesus than any other source on the planet. Yes, Jesus had a healthy sense of mirth; in fact He required that He and HIs Apostles take one day a week for recreation and fun.

  • "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?"

I always thought that verse was humorous. I guess it actually is!

  • PART 3

    GREAT VID!!!

  • PART2 People envision Jesus as staunch and stuffy. People loved and followed Jesus. People dont follow someone who is a stick in the mud. I have always thought that He would have been fun loving and a hoot to be around. It wouldnt surprise me that He played with the children. Heaven is a place of joy and peace, and laughter. And God is full of Joy, Peace and Laughter. It just makes sense that Jesus had a sense of humor!!

  • PART1 You know what? Have u ever been around someone who is miserable, nasty, a grouch? U dont want to stay around someone like that. People flocked around Jesus. He is God, but also he was human. Yes, people wanted to be around Him because of the presence of God within Him, but I cant help but think He would have been a cool dude to hang with. God has a sense of humor, just look at some of the people He created. Little children can sense the spirit of a person and they were drawn to Jesus

  • mockery is the best way to deal with brainwashed idiots. Finally, after thousands of years, the church has lost all its power, and we rationalists have the freedom to say: ''it's all made up rubbish!''

  • Yeshuah/Jesus SO had a sense of humor. I LOVE JESUS!

  • I always wonder if Jesus thought farts were funny. Imagine him an his disciples traveling from town to town and he lets one rip and Thomas is right behind and and is all "C'mon Lord!" And Jesus looks over at Simon Peter and gives him a little smirk.

  • if this guy is going to heaven then I'd rather end up in hell!

  • @marcohorowitz8 what?

  • @marcohorowitz8 Hmmm with an attitude like that, you very well may get your wish

  • @shhh1956 you always start your comments with Hmmmm..... ?? Anyway, I shall see you all there when we're dead! ciao

  • @marcohorowitz8 You don't know what you're wishing for..

  • @MaroonmeisteR neither do you. You've never been to hell, it doesn't exist, it's all been made up by irrational humans. you don't know any more than we do what happens after death, it's about time these Christians stop pretending that they know, we've had enough of their lies!

  • @marcohorowitz8 lol We? like you speak for every atheist in the entire world. Why would you come to a Christian video if you were not in the least bit interested. If you were so sure your faith is secure there's no worry right? "The biggest trick the devil ever pulled was making the world believe he didn't exist."

  • Lol. True. Peter "The Rock" was very unstable. He had temper problems and his emotions would drastically change.

  • Please don't hate me, I love Jesus but that joke about camel is scary. Hell is no place to joke about. Unless I'm doomed in advance which I don't think is the case. I'm not rich but that, at least to my limited understanding, means there's no way that someone with a lot of money goes to Heaven. :(

  • @BritneyAddicted4EVA

No, that is not how the story of the rich young ruler was meant to be taken. This is why you need to study your Bible carefuly. Jesus was talking to a very rich man who thought he could earn his way to Heaven by doing good works. Jesus saw right through him and what He was basically saying was "If you love Me, you'd be willing to give up everything you have for me." That's what He meant when he told him to "sell everything."

Abraham was very rich, and he is in Heaven.

  • @BritneyAddicted4EVA

    *continued*

Now, the reason that Jesus said that it is very hard for a rich person to enter Heaven is simply because what is the requirement according to the Gospel for Heaven? Faith. What is faith? Trust. *MOST* (not all) rich people are going to put all of their trust in their money and completely forget that they need God.

    That's all Jesus was saying.

  • the point was, its impossible, and its a miracle anyone is saved.,... just read the verses following the "eye of the needle" verse

  • i love u jesus .... :D

  • 2:03 somebody tell me where Isiah said that

  • @anonymousQ45

    Isaiah 53:2

  • Jesus actually did some stand up comedy for a while LOL

  • i have a question, who gives a shit?

  • @luskcameron Go to the website, watch the sermon. You'll see. It seems to not make a difference, but he makes some interesting points. This was kinda my first thought too though...

  • Since I've learnt to laugh in God His Word makes so much more sense!! :)

  • the intro's creep me out -_- hahah but i love this guy

  • we need to stop asking to ourselves if God was this or that! he was PERFECT!!

  • @teta809 IS

  • Hey Mark, you're not funny.

  • 08:23 I got sawdust in my eye...prophetic. hahahahahahahahaha

  • God does have a sense of humor!

  • Is Jesus funny ? Does the pope shit in the woods ?

  • Of course he is funny , not remember the time he was on the plane and it went out of control ....................... sorry that was leslie nielson

  • Ahahahahaa! I LOL'd at the plank scripture the other night with my sister. I love Jesus. The dude was funny.

  • When I read the Bible, I sometimes LOL. He's hilarious to me. For instance: Psalm 50:12 It's like he was being sarcastic. HILARIOUS!

  • All christians should listen to this guy. The world would be a much much nicer place.

  • Of course Jesus had a sense of humor! Funny sells better!

  • There is at least somewhat humorous mockery ...

However what is recorded in the scripture is almost entirely extremely serious and somber.

You can't really laugh when you're talking about salvation and damnation.

  • Actually the last example is lacking in context. I agree with a lot of what this is saying in this video, but the "eye of the needle" is actually an opening in the city gates. It was a small gate that would open at night for travelers who came in after dark (larger gates were closed). In order to fit a camel through, you had to take all the belongings off the camel, & bend it onto it's knees to get in. This signifies letting go of earthly goods & yielding to God. Not impossible, just hard.

  • @Tavlo I think you've missed the joke buddy. lol

  • @Nightwing20

LOL!! I did get it, but I just wanted to clarify that he is interpreting the scripture with a modern mindset. There are more examples of Jesus' humor. The eye of the needle is a bad analogy because it isn't a strong argument. He could have used the conversation with Nicodemus or with the Pharisees, or even Peter. My point is to someone who doesn't know Jesus' teachings well... the eye of the needle analogy falls apart. :-)

  • @Tavlo I get what you're saying. I would say that Pastor Mark wanted an excuse to have a 2x4 on stage! My favorite is in Luke there are 2 instances where Jesus was eating with the Pharisees on the Sabbath, and someone wished to be healed by Jesus. The first time, Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for them rebuking HIM for healing on the Sabbath. The second time (after healing the first person) JESUS asks the PHARISEES, "Is it right to heal on the sabbath?" Jesus mocked them because he's awesome.

  • @Tavlo Tthe "eye of the needle" metaphor, in it's context is thus. Matthew, Mark, and Luke record an account where a rich man asks Jesus how to get into heaven having following all the commandments (i'm paraphrasing b/c of space). Jesus tells him to sell all his possessions and follow him and the rich man was sad. The issue has to do with worship and valuing your possessions over God. Therefore it is easier to have a camel go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to get into heaven.

  • @Nightwing20 Yes, I know what the metaphor means, notice that I comment on it a little earlier... it's not a needle for sewing is what I'm getting at. The metaphor is very clear and if you know the context, makes even more sense as a metaphor. Anyway, I agree that Pastor Mark wanted an excuse to have a 2x4 on stage... very funny. :-)

  • @Nightwing20 Dont think so you could make a really big needle and put camel food in a line thru the needle and get it to follow it . Voila camel thru a needle !

  • @Mcorp30 Jesus said it wasn't easy... not IMPOSSIBLE. I would love to see that needle though!

  • I don't see why he wouldn't have a sense of humor. We are created with humor. He was definitely charismatic enough to have many followers.

I see a lot of humor in how he talks to the Pharisees and even Nicodemus.

  • I agree with this. Just not the camel one. He should have used some of the stuff Jesus said to the pharisees. Much funnier. although to be fair maybe its in the rest of the preaching.

  • maybe this guy is working for the enemy, 9:15 might be a coincidence, but im very suspicious

  • @mukkohaha

Haha. I think that's funny you actually brought that up. People who use a lot of expressions might use it unintentionally. And even if he used that on purpose doesn't make him a satan's employee.

  • Dude's gay and talking about shit.

  • He was very charismatic, so I'm assuming he had a good sense of humor.

  • jesus was funny! he made it look like he was resurrected and born of a virging so a bunch of guys and girls thousands of years later...

  • lol Jesus is kinda of a dick to peter HAHAHAHA

  • The Bible is reportage, evidence, historical records. God, Jesus, came into human history on a rescue mission for his jacked up people. It's news not advice and readily available for study.

  • If those were his best jokes no wonder he had to start a church to make a living.

  • lol @ 1:42 Cecille B. DeMille was also a blatant racist in his films. Not the best person to portray Christ in film.

  • i think it's safe to say: Jesus made me LOL today

  • Where does it say Jesus was a builder/carpender? All it says is he was the carpenders son.

  • @trixxxy100 In Jesus' times, since there weren't any schools like now a days, the boys would learn the trade-skill their father knew in order to make a living . If your dad was a fisherman you'd grow to be a fisherman, if your dad was a... well you get the Idea, and since Jesus' father was a Carpernter he grew up to be a Carpenter as well.

  • @OHYOYO007 And the biblical evidence for that? The Egyptians had schools long before the birth of Jesus. As for doing what your father did, that was common until the 1930's. In fact to do another profession was extremely unusual.

  • @OHYOYO007 Technically, Jesus' father Joseph was a handyman. He might have done some carpentry, but he was a man who worked with his hands and so did Jesus.

  • One of the funniest line from the NT: The woman at the well. After he tells her about her past, she asks, "Sir, I take it you are a prophet??"...

  • I love the imagery Jesus makes in Matthew 23:24.

"You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel"!

and the story of the gold hemorrhoids in 1 Samuel 6. lol

  • How do u know its a joke??

  • @TribeofShabazz coz its funny?

  • @Dejavu12321 hahahahahahaha ha

  • @Dejavu12321 lol i thought you were trolling.. for your information, jesus is a myth. he's one of many gods that died on a cross, ressurected, had twelve disciples, etc.

you shouldn't take it so seriously.

  • @MrWaddefak Untrue. Even though Im agnostic Ive done a lot of reserach on that for school and if you look into those so-called myths seriously and skeptically it's historically not true. It just gets passed around a lot by atheists so people come to believe it's true without reseraching both sides seriously for themseleves.

  • @Dejavu12321 No, please don't post that on random irrelevant videos. You aren't telling anyone what they haven't already heard. You just sound like a catchphrase touting looney Christian who is out of touch with the world. Be real, be heard. (Yes I'm a Christian)

  • Yeah im sure Jesus was a barrell of laughs.....well maybe when he drank too much of that wine

  • only mark would describe the apostles as "blue collar" fucking retard. Like they came out of the american midwest. Blue collar pssssh

  • @explosivedoubt "blue collar" doesn't mean American MidWest people. Sure, that phrase was started in America, but the phrase "blue collar" merely refers to the working class, which WERE the people that Jesus primarily hung out with.

  • “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

He went to those places to help them realize their sin, help them turn from their ways, believe in Him, and repent so that they could be made new by the Father. It's actually quite insulting to think that he found the same things funny that sinners did. Not only is it insulting, but it would make him a hypocrite.

  • Jesus didn't hang out with the tax collectors and people who partied it up all the time so that he could laugh at the same things that they did. He wasn't there to have fun.

"Then Levi gave Him a great feast in his own house. And there were a great number of tax collectors and others who sat down with them. And their scribes and the Pharisees[a] complained against His disciples, saying, “Why do You eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” Jesus answered and said to them....

  • @ 8:14 that was too funny lol!!!!!

  • @Icannottolerateit Laughing at your plank. Go rent DOGMA and have a glass of wine. You're kind of wound tight. --I totally believe humor is in the Bible. I'm not some laxadasical Christian either, I work for a non-profit woman's group who deals with women going through those issues you're waxing woe to the world about. Humor and love is the remedy to those women. If a bunch of non-christian humanitarians figured that out why wouldn't Jesus?

  • Uhhh what a gross misunderstanding of "Peter".

Peter was the FIRST to preach a sermon and the FIRST to convert others through the Gospel. He was given this privilege BECAUSE of his confession of Christ.

He mocks Peter as a man BEFORE Pentecost but as we can see Peter was definitely worthy of being called "Rocky" after Pentecost.

The plank is about hypocrisy, something Jesus did NOT find funny. We do not see him laughing at pharisees.

    This is....disturbing...

  • @Icannottolerateit Why are you so defensive of Peter? He was a pastor. And he could have quoted, "Do you smelllll what the Rock is cooking?"

Do you remember when Moses asks God for His name? "I Am." Now imagine Moses trying to explain to hundreds of people. "Who is this God?" "I am," says Moses. This is hilarious.

Besides, well can all choose to be as courageous as any of the disciples. But only Jesus gets the glory. "Get behind me Satan." - quote from P. Driss

  • @rejecthomophobia I am not so sure I am "so defensive" of Peter, but Christ was not insulting him. He was the FIRST to recognize Christ as Messiah, he was the FIRST to preach the Gospel, he was the first to step into the tomb and believe.

"Greater works than these you will do, because I go to my father" What does that mean? Is that a joke as well? Sarcasm?

Christ does get all the glory, but he is so glorious he allows us glory as well.

  • @rejecthomophobia He was a little more than a "pastor". "Pastors" are a dime a dozen, Peter's are.....well we have never met one.

Actually Moses would have said, "I AM sent me".......Or, "The God WHO IS"..... Let me guess...that was a joke as well.....*sigh*

  • @Icannottolerateit There must be a proverb about continuing a discussion with a fool. Learn to have a sense of humor. You must be a Church of Christ person. So sad. We can get glory, just look at Dr. King. Lighten up.

  • @rejecthomophobia Dr. King was more concerned about social issues than any spiritual issues.....

What revival did he spark? He got more people interested in civil rights than Jesus Christ.

Show me a proverb that says "lighten up". I am pretty sure Christians are supposed to be serious.....Paul says so over and over again.

If you want to be taken seriously BE serious....

Calling me a fool is a little unwarranted. Referencing King is proof you are a little clueless on the subject.

  • @Icannottolerateit You just make yourself look worse and worse. Jesus turned water into wine so people could have a great wedding party. What's so serious about that?

  • @rejecthomophobia Because he did not act like a drunken frat boy like Marc seems to think he would have?

You read the Old Testament prophets, the men inspired by the Holy Spirit, and think they were joking around often enough to declare them as men of humor?

Have you even read Jeremiah or are you just talking about something you know nothing about? Show me anything he wrote that was not tearful and sincere. How about Isaiah? Malachi? Surly ONE of the OT prophets was telling jokes...

  • @rejecthomophobia Maybe Habakkuk? Joel? Nehemiah? Ezra? David in Psalms? Micah? Obadiah? Haggai? Zechariah? SHOW ME, quit just stating YOUR opinion; I am only concerned about GOD'S opinion.

Humor can, in no way, glorify God. How can one joke when billions are going to Hell? Seriously? Do you honestly tell jokes while someone is getting raped in front of you? Is this now much more serious than that?

I am all ears for these "humorous" moods that these men apparently had.

  • @rejecthomophobia "Oh, that my head were a spring of water and my eyes a fountain of tears! I would weep day and night for the slain of my people." Jeremiah 9:1

I assume Jeremiah's situation was less grave and depressing than our own? I suppose we should be joking around about absolute nonsense as opposed to feeling compassion on the billions that are rushing into Hell?

Dr. King cheated on his wife, so let us at least discuss people fit to be ministers if we are going to reference them.

  • wow none of those were jokes, especially the third one. He said the camel thing after a rich man sorrowfully walked away because he was too covetous to follow Christ. Do you really think Jesus would tell a joke in his very next breath about it. Very doubtful and sad that people would get a laugh out of it

  • @Christ0pher222 This Church and this preacher are hilarious.....Mark uses humor almost constantly, and this is his way of justifying it.

Jesus probably laughed on occasion (and about silly or playful things), no doubt, but not is it ever mentioned in the Bible.

  • Well if Jesus was anything like His Father:

God: "Hey Abraham, go kill your son... DUDE, I'm just kidding, I wanted to see if you were faithful and trusting, haha." Abraham: "THAT'S NOT FUNNY GOD!" God: "Oh, you're fine silly."

  • If he (Driscoll) is so "jacked-up" why is he preaching all the time with such a big mouth?

Mt 16:18 (You are Peter, the rock on which I will build my Church) is definitely NOT meant as a joke. Again Driscoll is telling bullshit to discredit the Catholic Church and secure his following.

  • What about where jesus rolls into the house and the woman bows down before him aand starts to wash his feet with her hair. jesus just chills there and lets her continue. then the deciples say look how he lets her wash his feet. and jesus is like "i dont see any of you offering to wash my feet"

    LOL jesus is a boss.
