And they would stop using SLS too. There are so many companies out there that are providing environmentally safe B&B products and are doing it better than Lush now. Lush were the pioneers ... now they have slipped way down the ladder.

IF these claims about the recycling were true and IF the company was being honest in this video, why do the 5 pots you return to the store end up in the rubbish at the shopping complex where the store is located? This came straight from a Lush staff member.

@chenushk It depends on how close the store is to the Factory. In the UK, when black pots are returned to the store, they must be sent back to Poole, Dorset where they can be turned into new black pots. If it works out that it would be less environmentally friendly to transport the pots back to the factory than to simply put them in normal recycling a decision is made.

i am so in love with lush but recently i've discovered they use sodium laureth sulphate and sodium lauryl sulphate. these are very dangerous chemicals, i'm a bit dissapointed now :(

@kerflop It's compostable cellulose film if ordered from the UK. We tried sending everything naked, but products suffered in transit.

One thing you could be doing is actually looking at your energy supplier. This would make a great difference to how energy is made and produced now and, in the future. For the UK you could use Ecotricity who supply gas and electric through sustainable sources.

@smartverity We have been with Ecotricity since 2007. In fact, if people switch to Ecotricity and they mention Lush, they get £20 voucher to spend in our shops as a thank you. We've been talking to Ecotricity on the gas front and hopefully we'll be their first business gas customers.

Really appreciated the Environmental Policy since not many companies out there are aware of it.

But here in Hong Kong, we still don't have the 5-pots recycling scheme regardless Lush have been opening for several years and they are using plastic wraps instead of paper bags for soaps and other stuffs... :(

Hope someone in Lush will look into this matter as I do admire the policy that UK Lush have made~
