@mokechan Massive online multiplayer happened. For some reason, developers throw Story, Creativity, and Uniqueness out the window in order to make a multi-player experience.

Not to be a hater, but look at Halo and CoD. The 2 best selling games, yet have terrible story and creativity (regardless of what you say, Master Chief is NOT a "Real" character, he's a filler character), instead they sell based on multiplayer.

The days of good stories and uniqueness are gone, multiplayer based is here.

From what I've been told CoD was based on the World Wars..But I will agree with the whole multiplayer thing. These days it seems to be about achievements and multiplayer over storyline, characters, or history the game is based on..There's no point in making a game with a plot if people don't even care about it.
