@Mohammadas75 little older than me. started listening when I was 15 right around when daydream was released. One of the greatest thing for me was to rediscover her earlier songs before I started listening. Still consider daydream my all time favorite album though.

I don't think the reason this song was not included on Daydream was anything to do with it being too R&B. I think the reason is obvious - the song's lyrical content is clearly about Mariah's failing marriage; it's no wonder Tommy kept the track off the album.
@CartoonPropaganda They're about equal. Do you hear the drums in this song? No pop song is going to have feature this kind of drumming...much less, a thick, grooving bassline.
Long Ago is just faster and it draws more from hip hop. Slipping Away is a contemporary R&B slow jam. Both are urban and both wouldn't of been recieved all that well by the white pop/AC audience at the time.

@Da1uLyK eventually though in a couple of years idk maybe its just me but ballads will be big again because if you look at the 80s and the whole pop and dance time it shifted into ballads like crazy in like the early 90s and evetually when people get over the pop dance thing again someone will probably bring it back .... hopefully

@BxzD9159595 hopefully yes. But really I wouldn't care less if 90s-like ballads were never mainstream again as long as somebody's making fresh ones somewhere. If that doesn't happen, well at least we got these ones. Oh and we got Susan Boyle to help make big ballads "da ish" again. lol
(not that the other ballads being produced today suck, just that SB is super popular hence influential atm)

This track, Breakdown with BTNH and the Remix of I Still Believe with Da Brat and Krayzie bone. These songs are smoothe and real R&B jams! Still love her but wish she had more songs like this.....

This was released in limited copies.this cd single has a barcode it is not as some people have suggested a promo . Promos dont have barcodes . I bought mine in the uk from a specialist soul shop .written by mariah carey co produced with dave jam hall for untouchables entertainmet

mariah wants to be on the charts, so bad. it's sad. She is a pop singer with rnb tones. She KNOWS from twitter her fans want Classic Pop songs from her, but to stay on the charts with Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady gaga who are much LESS talented, she puts out the fluff like touch My Body, Obsessed.

....You could tell she was really emotional @ Michael Jackson's memorial. I think it's cool she sang 'I'll Be There' with Trey Lorenz, like on her MTV Unlpugged album. He was obviously a musical hero of both.
