That's a song called "Der Führer's Face," played by Spike Jones and the City Slickers. It was very popular on American radio during the war, as was all Spike Jones' music.
Very nice compilation and many new motives for me; I once happened to visit a Militaria-Fair in Dortmund and saw a stand of a local trader of Aviation-Art. He sold Faksimile of the pictures some of which are included inn your collection. In case you don't know about the artists: I made out the two favourites of mine; Robert Taylor & Nicholas Trudgian!
Some other brilliant painters are Frank Wootton, Heinz Krebs, Mark Postlethwaite, Ross Buckland, James Dietz, Roy Grinnell
Wonderful work! You must be as dedicated to WW2 aerial combat as I am, probably even more. The music / soundtrack is rather apt too.
Forgive me, but there is a painting depicting a Yak 9 against a Me 109 sandwiched between a Hurri chasing a Ju 87 and a squadron of Spits taking off against the backdrop of an Air raid with a Ju 88 up at 3'o clock. Does it belong there?
However, I still feel this video is a work of art. Thank you!
You have a good eye. Yes, that distant speck is a Yak, and it probably should have come later with the Eastern Front pix. I fear I had too many paintings to work with and I missed that one. Incidentally, as a WWII aerial combat fan, you might want to check out the entire Wars on Canvas and WWII in the Air series. There are at least five more videos that fall in our area of interest. Cheers, John (bestjonbon)
