this is strange, on the first clip ther is no sun and shadow when he run.

On the second clip the shadows falls to left and sun comes from the right.

Then back to clark, the sun comes from the back, and he also got a highlight and shadow in the face thats a strang way to put your light. Then when you zoom out clark has two shadows. One sun = one shadow.

just some reflections.

@ponkasss I usually add some noise and blur in After Effects to help it blend with the background better.

@ponkasss Yes, you render the objects in separate passes (multipass) and then everything exports nicely over to AE. C4D even makes a nice .aec file for you.

@smartacious Rotoscoping. You have to duplicate the original layer (footage) and place it on top of the 3D text, then roto around the actor.

I need help!

I am trying to find away, a good way to use Maya with After Effects by importing a 3D Model into AE for motion tracking.

I have heard of exporting from Maya to Photoshop, then AE, but for some reason it only worked wants for me after that the 3D model would not not show up in Photoshop.

Is there a program out there that can import motion tracking into Maya accept MacthMover, I can't even get that peace of crap to even track in Maya on a HD 1280 BY 720 I cant see how people do this

@lostmic Well, first of all, your workflow is all wrong. you dont import 3D models into AE.

First you have to track the shot (I use syntheyes) and then you export the camera and tracking points from syntheyes to your 3D package (Maya, C4D, Lightwave, etc). Render out your 3D elements and then comp it all together in AE.

@TEEKHD This is an older version of Boujou, and it has no problem exporting to C4D. I really have no idea what you're talking about. I no longer use Boujou, as its way too expensive. I use Syntheyes.

Years ago, pixelcorp sold Boujou to members for $300.

it would be really easy to to make a record from a big distanz and then place the text in cinema4d or something like that and zoom in the video and move the camera...

this works just with very good cameras... otherwise the quality would suck....

It's amazing how something so small in the scene can create so much work. I had the same thing in some of my self shot footage. There was some guy standing around and he clashed with the shadow of my object, so I had to mask him.

@xRiioTz Tracking can be a long tedious task. Depending on the footage you're trying to track, the auto tracker may work, or you might have to place custom trackers, and track them manually to get a solid track.
