MMMM no me parece que este sea un rol para Jonas. A pesar de que lo puede solventar técnicamente, interpretativamente es todo igual, y eso no me gusta nada. En otras obras, como en Adriana Lecuvre, es impresionante su interpretación.

Por otro lado, será posible que siempre las minas con las que canta este tipo estén todas buenas!!!!

Very fine rendition even though I prefer a more lyric voice doing it. The tempo is a bit slower than what I usually hear in this aria but that's up to the Conductor also, not just the tenor.

Très belle interprétation et très bonne diction en français pour un ténor allemand. On sentait aussi qu'il était très ému, car c'était la première fois qu'il jouait Werther je crois (par deux fois on sentait qu'il était à la limite de tousser avant de chanter. Il s'isolait pour s'éclaircit la voix).

Mais c'est un ténor magnifique que je viens de découvrir et que j'apprécie beaucoup. Il n'a que 42 ans je crois, alors nous allons j'espère le voir longtemps.

Yes I see what you mean ; specially at 5:50, I do not really like what he does. I would'nt have done this, but it's just a moment of the evening. I don't like to "push" my voice ; I think he knows what he can or cannot do. I've noticed in others videos that he really takes care of his voice. So I want to believe that he his wise enough. At present he is my modele (I'm a singer).

Jonas Kaufmann es actualmente el mejor tenor del mundo. He visto los 4 " Werther" que canto en Viena los dias 17, 21, 24 y 28 de enero 2011 y bordo siempre el ultimo acto. El aria siempre la canto maravillosamente y el dia 28, como despedida de la Opera de Viena y ante las interminables ovaciones que le tributamos, la repitio. le "Werther" de Jonas est bouleversant d'émotion, même à la Xème vision du DVD. C'est toujours un choc de le voir et de l'entendre. On est suspendu au moindre de ses gestes, ou à la plus légère des intonations. Jamais Jonas n'est banal ou ennuyeux, tant il apporte de profondeur et d'intensité à tout ce qu'il joue ou qu'il chante. "Bravo" est bien faible pour exprimer ce qu'il fait partager. Toute la distribution (et l'orchestre) sont à la hauteur de ce Werther irremplaçable.

Comment peut-on critiquer la diction de Jonas Kaufmann ???!!! C'est parfait de A à Z, les voyelles et notamment les "é" sont parfaitement en place. J'aimerais qu'on m'indique un chanteur français capable de mieux faire. J'ai 70 ans et j'ai vu et entendu beaucoup de grands "Werther" (par exemple Alfredo Kraus), mais jamais personne comme Jonas Kaufmann (découvert dans "Carmen" à Covent Garden en 2006). Je suis enthousiasmé par son "Werther" au point que je vais le revoir à Vienne le 24 janvier.

L'aperture est excellent mais la diction paraît assez éloigné d'un Thill par exemple. Vous comprenez un mot de ce qu'il dit ? Il faut s'accrocher quand même.

Sa diction est loin d'être parfaite, il est vrai, mais c'est quand même un ténor qui a de l'allure.

Il est jeune, donc encore perfectible.

J'exagère. Kaufmann est très bien. Ses graves sombres rendent justice à l'écriture de Massenet (le rôle fut d'abord pensé pour baryton). Les liaisons sont impeccables (peu de francophones y arrivent). La diction, assez bonne mais améliorable.

Je citais Thill parce que c'est un des seuls chanteurs de la discographie à être bon. Je ne connais pas Vanzo ou Chauvet là-dedans. Le deuxième a sans doute été très bon là-dedans. Beuron est sans doute trop léger. Alagna est pas mal.

What an artist - for a German his French diction is excellent and his staging is magic. He comes close to Massenet and to Goethe, something wich is not every day the case.

We all should enjoy his talent.
