Iv ben into taekwondo since 1978 so believe me when I tell you thie IT's CRAP. See how he drops his guard after every kick? It shows lack of seriousness. Life is not a game. He'd get beaten to pop on the streets. I sincerely think Ninjutsu is a lot more practical.
Do you think Taekwondo is more practical? My instructor who was Korean and world champion was knocked out on the streets of Nigeria before my very eyes. He was knocked out by a 17yrs old groundnut seller who punched him on the face and swept him off the ground. He was just like this guy. Lots of fancy stuff but look at the video yourself. Does he have a guard? Nope.
@jovinovi Nah, I didn't say that TKD is more practical. Actually I believe no Martial Arts to be practical. It's the combination of some MA that makes it practical. But that's just my opinion.
i'm suprised he didnt break his hand the only time he puched, seeing as though WTF think kicks are everything there is to fighting and thus havn't ever punched anyone.
pfft. imma not talk about which martial arts are good but the actual video. the guy sucks. he has no flexibility. i don't think this guy can kick to the head to save his life in a real sparring match. he just had the guy fall down to make u forget how low his kicks are.
Every says "WTF is bad, it cant win in a fight, i sucks, its ballet".
1) WTF and ITF are both very good and need discipline to master although some may say ITF is better you could be right depending on what you want to say but WTF is still good.
2)WTF can win in a fight, it all depends on you.......
3) Theres nothing wrong with ballet, it would be very hard to become good at so thats not a bad thing... alot of professional sportsmen and woman are known to study ballet to help them
if you want an effective taekwondo ,its better to see ITF,this video is WTF,this is ballet, but ITF is the original taekwondo and have all the forbiten moves that WTF dont allow and they dont teach illegal move.
they do teach illegal moves they just don't use it in a sparring match...its like saying "Soccer sucks because you can't use your hands to pass the ball"

NOt really TKD wont work. My instructor was head of the Korean team. He was knocked out in Nigeria by a groundnut seller. A kid less than 19yrs old on the streets. My instructor was a 6th dan. Nigeria had to send him packing.
tkd is very offense oriented martial art. unlike many others that have both yin and yang aspects. so unless he's determined, (unlike this video guy) he will be getting his ass kicked by anyone who is. when you learn tkd, many places mix hapkido with tkd. i personally like break dancing with tkd but..tkd is more like a sword in battle, you also need a shield to survive. kind of like korean history ain't it? korea is divided and tkd is incomplete.
well I did tkd to 5th degree. Wont work on the streets. Look at him when he kicks. His hands are down. A head butt would put him out. A slap as well or a punch to the face. Tkd have bad basics Im sorry to say.
i've been through hundreds of training sessions of the main martial arts;
TKD may not be the most effeciant, but holy shit, i personally dont know a dumbass who would want to fight me just because my confidence and skill is that high. honestly, kung fu and TKD are the best for streets, and for ground, use your jiu jitsti and aikido:)
@KungfuMuythaiguy6 are you joking? if you are doing TKD for long time i can not understand how you might think its good for street fights, high kicks usually take too much time and during that time i can easily block it and attack back with practically anything plus there are no kicks under the belt which sux big time, muay thai is one of the best arts for streets, i figured you should know it if you have it as your nickname
TKD is only a sport, not a real way to defend yourself on the streets
@BohemianRadegast , you are wrong.Taekwondo is known for the fastest kicks and powerfull ones, it's like boxing but for the legs, so you can't block an high kick if you don't see it. High kicks wouldn't exist if they weren't effective, Also i don't understand how you people "argue" about a martial art , when what really matters is how you use your skills. There are many factors in a street fight, fitness, mental state, environment, reason, strategy, etc. You cannot judge an art by what you see.
@NunoTrickz I cant and iam not, all iam saying is that TKD is only a sport today not a real martial art. Fastest kicks? have you been doing any martial arts at all?, kicks are fast if the user is fast, the only real kicks you mostly use in reality are ones bellow belt and these are most effective as i said erlier the high kicks are a lot easier to blockade especially if the one doing them is tired a little
@BohemianRadegast ,yes, i had and still have martial arts training , i trained Capoeira, boxing, ninjutsu, MMA and Taekwondo. I will not argue with you anymore, you can think whatever you want, if you call taekwondo a sport i can call mma , judo , jiujitsu , greco roman fighting, muay thai , kickboxing , karate, etc , sports to cause if there's also competitions and stuff like that, k1, ufc are some examples, it's easy to talk this way. And taekwondo uses hands to, search "meaning of taekwondo"
@BohemianRadegast Also taekwondo is not only about kicking, it's footwork is very nice for dodging. But like i said and others say, it's not about the art, it's about the artist.
@NunoTrickz i totaly agree with u.. especially about each individual (fitness, mental state, envirnoment reason, strategy, etc. and i think bruce lee is s great example for it. he was one of the most famous for his martial arts career and he had a lot of different styles not just one or two. and if below belt was the most efficient bruce wouldnt have used them at all or very little. oh and FYI BOHEMIANRADEGAST Bruce also had TKD background which came very usefull for him in fights.
well the school i train at, we have to do knuckle ups if we dont keep our hands up or tight, but if you want to do tkd on the streets, try taking up olympic, soon im going to be training in original tkd and olympic
RDraGon2179 you are completely correct - Im a TKD fighter and we teach this stuff to juniors - It's TKD's sports side. The self defence side is 100 X better
I really would not want to be on the receiving end of those kicks. Watching this, helps be see how TKD can be practicle, not just fancy kicks that look good.
No hands and feet combination. This doesn't look practicle, it looks like sport. Granted he is fast but if you put him in match with punches and kicks he will drop his hands with every kick and he will eat a punch. When you practice with your hands down, it will come nature to fight with your hands down. Taekwondo is practicle or was but now it has lost orginiality and become a sport.
Die Kicks sehen für Dumme/Unwissende, die keine Ahnung haben nicht hart aus, ausknocken würden sie einen aber trotzdem wenn der Kick am Kopf trifft.
Was soll man bei Kicks, Schläge usw.? Ausatmen oder? Richtiger als mit einem Kampfschrei kann man es gar nicht mehr machen. Noch dazu steckt man dann automatisch mehr Energie in den Schlag. Außerdem schauts dann auch besser aus.

It's not true that WTF thinks that the only thing to do in fighting is kicking. Sometimes they like to spin around and fall on their ass.

if hes trying to demonstrate his moves then his turning kicks are aweful. you do not kick with the instep when demonstrating, only in sparring.
