  • This Driver knows what Railfns like ;-)))

  • An RS3L? On a WARBONET?!?!?! YES!!!!!!!

  • Awesome!

  • what trains ran on that railroad track you are standing on?

  • @MrSuperRileymoore Thats not a track. its an old lay as you can see when he turns the camera.

  • The joys of foamers...lol

  • Love it!

  • one of the best

  • that sounds good laying on the horn for a long time at high speed

  • Wonderful catch with the Warbonnet and the beautiful RS3L!

  • I wish i lived in the US :'(

  • sounds like mister train driver has been hitting the bottle

  • Thumbs Up!

    Thanks for sharing. :-)

  • That's perfect for what I want.....Just wish there'd have been some steam.

  • what the hell...why did he do that?

  • Nice sounding horns!

  • Love the "Santa Fe" decal.

  • What the hell is so special about the horn???!!

  • @NsTrainMan07 its a leslie rs3l. it sounds nice, my question is are u a railfan? cuz a railfan would know this is a special horn

  • @NsTrainMan07 everything

  • @NsTrainMan07 ok great!!!

  • i cant hear no more thumbs up!

  • xD Hahaha nice! :)

  • It's nice to see an unpatched Sante Fe.

  • Actually , he lays on horn and flashes lights to say "MOVE"

it looks like you were either very close to other track or on it.

Not saying you did anything wrong- Its an awsome shot but

in his opinion, you were close

  • @BigLug716 If a train on the track he is standing on hit him, that train would be very quickly be having another HUGE problem. The track ends!

  • That makes no sense. Then why did the conductor wave to him? That's out of service track he's standing on, and he's on public property on the street. Flashing the lights like that is actually a way of saying hello, it's happened to me on occasions

  • He's giving us a Morse code at :38 ( I wonder what it is )

  • I love the doppler effect. its what I miss most from the old train days

  • @truckereleven dopplar effect still exists. its a part of sound science. key still changes sound still drifts out. so whats wrong with u?

  • @BNSF9250 I suppose its the sign of the times that you couldn't just be polite with your question. There is nothing wrong with me. I know what the dopplar effect is and I am sure you damn well knew that since I am the one that used the term. I was referring to missing the old trains and their whistles as they steamed by me as a kid when I grew up near the railyards in Maine.

  • i want that on my car

  • Geez what a guy! I want to meet him!

  • The Santa Fe horn sounded like a EJ&E SD38-2

  • holy balls! that was an incredible horn show. you could say it made me "horny" (pun intended)

  • That is such a cool horn!

  • notice the flash of the headlights as well. what an engineer

  • I love this video.....great horn, great scenary, great train, the train itself reminds me of CSX Q464 minus the steel coil cars, is dat a GE Dash 8-40BW in the lead????

  • kick ass vid nice job 5 stars for sure

  • that guy is sitting on that horn lol : )

  • if i was the driver i would blow that horn all day =]

  • Yep you can even see the driver's angry face pressed against the window, mouthing the words, GET OFF THE ******** TRACK!!!

  • that's real cool!! I like that, wan't here it day and night. I'am from germany and miss it.. Thank you Ic6071 5*

  • This dude saw ya's there, and he was tryin' to send a message, Plain and Simple. I don't know what it was, but no engineer I have ever met would blow like that at a small country crossing... It would happen once, before the entire town refused that train from passing by again I can tell you that much :)

  • Geeze, maybe because he was ON the crossing itself. Might have something to do with it! Folks, get off the tracks and behind the gates. Engineers get scared when people are that close, in the event something happens like a derail.

  • Not likely. Watch the other videos. Same crossing same stuff lots of horn (awesome horn btw) even when the camera is no where near the crossing.

    Somebody knows somebody. :)

  • What was the number on the second locomotive?

  • Nice Warbonnet with a beatiful ATSF Horn!

  • YEAH!!

that would of been awesome to see in person.

    outstanding catch man.

lover how he flashed the lights for yall lol

  • AWESOME horn action

  • WTF was on that thing? I don't think I've heard a horn like this before.

  • DeltaPhi79: The horn in question is a Leslie RS-3L. This used to be the most common horn found on a locomotive many years ago.

  • That was a real Santa Fe horn.

  • I like how the lights flash on for a couple seconds, and off for a couple seconds.

  • Now that's a horn -- LOL

  • LOL i can walk faster than that train!

Might try it one day, walk with that horn in one hand blaring it at people on the street

  • no real mécan

i not mécan job in de train

  • My word, you weren't standing on that other track, were you?

  • Now that was a good horn show.

  • Great ! I'd like to think that the engineer had a heavy hand on the horn because of rail fans, but Krause12689 makes a good point.

  • Isn't that lead a B40-8W? Nice video!

  • theres a fine line between being a fan and just scaring the shit out of us engineers, and majority of rail nuts cross that line....

  • Now thats a shave, haircut and a Blow Dry! lol.....Awsome Engineer, I model CN on my HO layout so i definitely love watching this! Nice Catch!

  • Driver loves that horn!!!

  • he really appreiates train fans

  • is that an old cast P5?

  • I think it's an RS3L ,but I'm not sure.

  • That track used to be a double track, because there is remnance of it over the crossing...And the cam turns as the train is heading away, it goes to a bend as though the main track merges into where the abandonded track used to be. Whats up with that?

  • epic

  • he wanted you to get away from the train

  • Great horn show, congratulations, check out mine and my new videos, including some shave and haircuts, greetings.

  • thats hella sweet man!

  • He slowed down because you were standing there.. Actually I think he was scared to death that you were a suicidal man.. If you only knew how many train suicides there is. And how the media never puts it at us.. Its hiden because theres no solution to it.

  • i dont think he was scared to death. If he was, you'd hear brake sequels and no working locomotives. Farther more, if he was scared, why'd the Conductor wave?

  • FUCK ME if a driver did tjat in england hed get the sack!

  • thats what i was thinkin, we dont get that shit over here LOL.. its just a 'on - off - on'

  • hahah really? thats so gay why would he get fired for blowing his horn? :P

  • well if he did it that much"

  • 5* + Favourite !!

  • hell yea that was SWEET!!!

  • The two locomotives are really a Santa Fe & a BNSF.

  • Nice video.

Wanted to see that signal change.

Was he blowing to get people to move further away from the track?

Stay enough away because of anything loose (metal strapping) and sticking out or even derailment.

  • loud horn yeah ferromex soud horn

  • train is ALWAYS better

  • Wooww!!! Cool engineer LOL!!

  • you tell him to wake me up before the nightshift?

  • Oww those poor resudents :P

  • looks like the track is in a hump there are is that normal look from camera

  • That was awesome!

  • god i love the sound of a train horn..sends shivers down my spine!

  • Nice Leslie S-3T. You don't hear those hardly any more.

  • you know the train and engine number?

  • that engineer was awsome!

  • Well done. Wow. That is an amazing video!!

  • A very mournful sounding RS3L there...

  • Awesome horn! Great camera work as always!

  • That Took All Month Long, got sort of a Leslie tang

  • Cool engineer!

  • That was so cool. Nice railwatching Spot!

Nice engineer i must say also. :)

  • Thanks, Yeah, it is usually pretty good. I agree, he is a nice guy.

  • @ibuy4unow I agree awesome engineer

  • The last time I heard a horn like this was the beginning of 2007. The guy was blowing the horn for like 30 seconds.

  • hey can you get me a wav file of this horn?

  • hey, i don't have the computer that this file was on anymore, but there are ways to download audio/video from youtube, search google for the way.

  • If you go to vixy (dot) net and paste the youtube url, you can convert it to an audio file. I think it offers mp3 at this point, but then it's easy to convert to wav after that.

  • @AlexB359 Go to Zamzar .com and put the link and it convert to mp3 or wav i dont know if there is wav...

  • this horn blast my ears, this is a real horn!

  • hey awesome backround in ur page!!! im part German

  • @norfolkdash9

Hello, thank you for your comment.

I also have ancestors in Minneapolis.

I like also the trains in your country, great.

You see in my background the German High-Speed Train ICE (Intercity-Express)near my domicile. This train was build by KraussMaffei

, the same loco maker of many BNSF locos. :-)

    Bye.

  • Your Welcome, will you ever put videos on your account? I will gladly watch them!

  • @norfolkdash9

Thank you very much, you are nice. But sorry Sir, I have not the technical equipment (camera)and also no car at present. The photo was recorded in Northern-Hess, about 40 km (25 mls) from my hometown (domicile)Kassel. But I think, there are a lot of good videos of trains all around the world on youtube.

Be seeing you on youtube and greetings from Germany.

  • Thank you

  • What an AMAZING SALUTE! Great video, AWESOME VIDEO!!!

  • thanks!

  • waqs it numbered in the 900's?

  • I think so, i want to say the 953?

  • thank you!

  • Actually it's a B40-8W in the 500 series since it's four axles. 900 are C40-8W's and C41-8W propectively.

  • kinda freaky when the lights turn on and off

  • is he dimming his headlights or is that just your camera?

  • yep he dimmed them! he always does that

  • that horns like finally a breat!!

  • A ol' Warbonnet + her original leslie RD-3 horn + an engineer who knows how to lay on the horn = a great video.

  • was that lead loco an old warbonnet santa fe?

  • yep!

  • why did I hear someone say the word "asshole" at about 0:12, 0:13 seconds ?

  • I know???

  • he said "that sounds cool man"

  • awsome horn what kind you think it is?

  • Leslie RS-3L.

  • Hogger was being a smart ass,I`m a conductor and most guys or gals think it`s funny to blow foamers ear drums out and turn the lights on and off. Approaching th eraod like that will p`off the fra doing that.

  • ya,when you're taking photos too, turning on/off the lights, blowing a bit too early, and WHAM,oCH,My EARS!! lol It's funny, and it's funny to see thier reactions, when you say hello, wave, and see/hear them do it back! Hay,some even talk to you like a normal person or friend! They do it all the time here!

  • I work for BNSF and I`m a closet foamer, alot of my coworkers are non-foamer/antirailroad-crabass oldheads that just need to retire.

  • Nice Action of the Engineer of giving u the light signal!!!!! Great Video!! Loud Horn!!!! Awsome!!!!

  • WOW....Now that was AWSOME!!!!!!!

  • awesome horn and video thanks for shareing

  • your username is stupid, other people happen to like it!!!

  • maybe i picked the name because i hate high school freshman and the 17 is in honor of my uncle. and if you dont like it go to hell!!

  • Man do you get some good videos.I'm gona subscribe.

  • For a very faded unit it has a beutiful horn. We chased him to Freeport. Awsome vid.

  • thank the engineer for the rail fans that was awsome

  • I'm gonna buy my mother-in-law a house right beside those tracks.

  • Ha...hahaha...good one buddy!!!!! I know for a Fact a lot of guys will agree with u!!!! Trains Rule!!!!!

  • Thats a POWERFUL Leslie horn!!

  • Yeah---your buddy JIm seems like a cool guy. I've watched those other video clips of yours, and loved all of them. There's nothing like a man who knows how to blow a horn. I've been on trains and hit people on crossings, and the horn blowing does matter. Keep up the good work on these horns clips!

  • I love a engineer that knows how to blow a horn, and a good sounding one! I've seen a lot of big railroad engineers "sissy" blow the horn---this guy ought to give them lessons!

  • yea, jim is awesome. Check out some of my other vids, he has some other really good horn solutes.

  • Somebody got their brights on.

  • You've gotta love that horn!

  • woa some bright lights they got there

  • Its just the Un-Written Golden Rule of Drivers.Hes just a BIG showoff....LOL

  • i thought as the engine approaches, the bottom head lights are to suppose to flash off and on? any1 any1

  • well on some engines, the bottom lights osolate when the engineer applies the horn, but in this vid, the headlights are flashed and the horn is nailed as a hello to the railfans.

  • sorry i thought i saw 2 axles

  • yep, ya did

  • Really cool, that Dash-8 really layed it on you!

  • That is actually a Dash 9.

  • nope, its a 4 axle

  • Great filming! I sure would've liked to have seen that depot in it's day.

  • The tune is a C# E A#.

  • One of the best horns I ever heard!!!!

  • prolly tring to tell you to back away from the tracks... i do that too when proplr are too close.

  • Wow nice a headlight too powerful, awesome!

  • Nice. Its great when the engineer treats the railfans.

  • Very nice video. The horn its an S3L?

  • WOW!! EXCELLENT! Great video! loved the horn and when the engineer flashed the lights like that! Keep up the great work!

  • AHHHHHHHHHHH Bright Lights

  • If my engineer did that just to say hello to a group of railfans, I'd strangle him! o.o You guys don't know how quick that horn gets old from inside the cab.

  • They're at the beginning of their shift, so they might not have been sick of it yet.

  • Horns never get old!!! lol
