@blindthief Michael Jackson LOVED his tributes. Chris was the only one paying tribute to Michael when he was ALIVE! Chris did his own version of his idol's dances. This is from someone who loved MJ since 1968 when I first saw the J5 on the Miss Black America pagaent. I love anyone who respects Michael & keeps his legacy alive.

This isn't about respect. I know Brown has great intentions when he does his impersonation of MJ. That's besides the point. MJ does not need to be reminded or promoted. He is a legend; nobody will ever forget him. When Brown is throwing a concert he should stick to his own music. His fans are there to see him, not MJ. Also, we don't know if MJ changed his views about Brown after the debacle involving Rihanna.

You're right, he is talented, which is why he should be focusing on original creations. Save the impersonation for TRIBUTE CONCERTS. His fans paid good money to see him perform; if they wanted to hear MJ's music they have the luxury to sit and watch his dvds at home. What Brown is doing isn't wrong. I just think it takes something away from him as an artist/musician when he does his impersonations. If I'm an artist, would it make sense to put up a copy of a master's piece at my gallery show?

But regardless, I am a Chris Brown fan & I can tell you (as you can see from the video) the crowd gets into it since almost everybody loves Michael. It's always been a tribute and not an impersonation. It's why Michael REQUESTED that Chris do the World Video Awards tribute to Michael. I'm 49 so I'd hadn't really heard of Chris until then. As I said before, we just have to agree to disagree.

If this video was taken from a tribute concert then I have no problem with it. I have seen other videos in which he performs MJ songs/dances on different occasions. Brown should be gaining fame from his original works, not using MJ's name as a way to boost his career. Once again, if it's done once a year as a tribute concert - perfectly fine. Let's just say it's about quality not quantity. If you think his constant tributes help his legacy, fine, I'm cool with that. I see it different.
