  • If you don't workout your chest first, then you can lift more when exercising triceps only.. so.. I will get a better workout if i split these muscle workout over different days?

But there is also biceps which you use in back/lats/shoulder workouts..

What is best to maximize ability to lift max and give it 100 % for each muscle? i can't possibe workout like 8 days a week!

  • Hey! :) Thanks a lot for you videos! Helps a lot!

I have a question that i really need answer for:

If you one day workout hmm lets say chest and triceps.

When working out chest you also use triceps in many exercises: thereby u exercise ur triceps, and later on when done with chest you start on your tricep workout..

When you start on your tricep workout you will already be a litte tired and you are unable to get maximum out of your triceps training?

  • I can definitely relate to the sheer terror. I told all my friends about when I started to work out, and I knew if I didn't stick to it they'd think I was a quitter. After a couple of weeks, I didn't need that terror anymore because I could see results that motivated me :)

  • You talk just like an engineer. After checking out your page i find out you are!!!! Thats awesome, as an engineering student i take pride in people like you. You know what your talking about and how to make sense of things.

Keep up the great videos....oh btw are you an electrial engineer?

  • You're the man!

  • You are excellent love your videos thank you so much for the words and teaching of wisdom

  • here is what it comes down to. how badly do you want it? if you want to get into shape motivation really should not be the issue. I love going to the gym and lifting. and days I skip working out I don't feel as good overall. you need a goal and you work for it. for whatever it Is you want to get ripped or strong or thin or whatever you are going to need to work for it. people really think they can gain unrealistic amounts of muscle or lose unrealistic amounts of fat in a short time.

  • hey man just wanted to say you‘re a great motivation for me, thanks for your great vids, greetings from Guatemala city!!!

  • you mentioned patience, thank you. thats the key

  • hahaha this video is SOOO ME last year.. but thanks to the scoob im ALIVVEEEEE!!! XD .. no really ...thanks !

  • Hey Scoob

I found my motivation. I'm currently private in the Norwegian Air Force. I want to become a Sergeant. I'm training every day. But i eat alot of sweets. I'm addicted to Coca Cola. Any tips on how to quit?

    thx

  • @Mortycakes

Just put that you are going to quit on FaceBook xD

  • Hey scooby, Im 14, 5ft and quite skinny, for the past 2 weeks ive been taking whey protein powder for bulking up to cover my small chest deformity called pectus carinatum however im a bit worried that this powder won't help me at all or even harm me or stunt my growth, please help - thanks.

  • what are some everyday foods you eat. i have a condition that requires me to eat healthy. if man made it i dont eat it. i eat a lot of fruits vegetables but i need tips for protein. i swim 5000-12000 yards a day for the past eight years. competitive swimmer and i still hate cold water :P

  • what are some everyday foods you eat. i have a condition that requires me to eat healthy. if man made it i dont eat it. i eat a lot of fruits vegetables but i need tips for protein

  • i was waiting for the dog on the green screen to take a dump lol

  • Those 25 people who disliked this video can suck it. Deg-X style.

  • @kabashis1 If I recall right, his left shoulder has been injured, so I guess its pretty normal

  • Dear Facepalm/book peoples, I'm going to try and get fit starting monday. I know I said that 6 months ago, but this time I mean it, totally, seriously, yeah.

    Alright, I'm in. -_-' (pee's pants)

  • what is it he says at the end of all his videos??

  • i’m gonna have too say you motivate me to wanna get back in shape, i wanna play rugby in the next 3 months, so i’m getting myself a new gym membership, and i’m going to be doing a lot of home work outs, that i have learned from you

  • hey scooby, thanks alot for all the videos, you helps us a lot.

also your hat is very cool, keep training.

    long live for scooby (:

  • @JuanRockRick long life for scooby, sorry

  • That workout planner is mint.

  • u see the costom workout plan it said to do brisk walking, how fast is brisk?

  • @aRandomPimp Check his website ''6-pack abs > Cardio'' you need to measure your heart rate after walking and youll know.

  • YOU ARE THE MAN!

  • Dear YouTube,

The Like/Dislike system, I can live with. I've gotten used to it now.

The new comment layout, fine with me.

But THIS, is just too much too take! The front page has completely lost it's organised, simple layout!

I don't know where you get your ideas, but I think I speak for a big part of the community when I say "YouTube, go F*ck yourself."

I hate people who ask for thumbs up, but this is not meant to be funny. This is serious! Give this a thumbs up

  • low body fat can get you that v cut at the hips right?

  • @ArmourExe Darn right it can.

  • Dude everything he says is true, specially the gym thing I've been going to my gym for almost a year now & I know people only go like 1 or 2 times a week useless

  • thanks for the video :)

  • Scooby Thank you very much for this information! I really was looking forward for it. Also, thanks for all your dedication and time to help others. JOCT

  • Thumbs up if u were staring at the dog in the background

  • Studies actually show that NOT telling people about your goals helps you achieve them. I'm not saying you're wrong when you say people shouldn't announce their goals, it might work as well. Just wanted to share another way to find motivation.

Anyway, here's more about a New York University study: bit(dot)ly/gUjYdu. And here's a guy talking about the subject on YouTube: NHopJHSlVo4.

  • Nice greenscreen

  • fantastic physique for your age..im sure these comments motivate you!

  • Just got back to working out after a two months' break (due to health issues and massive amounts of work that left me drained in every way possible). The mood boost was amazing. And I just like DOMS, ya know? In a way, it's a sign that I did well.

  • great video, great inspiration man! thanks

  • @Scooby1961: Which exercises I should do for limb stretching and height increase..

  • Sheer Terror only works if you care what other people think of you

  • Scooby because of you, 2011 will be a hardcore healthy year for me and for the many many years to come :)

  • Scooby you are my idol.

  • I KNOW, IM ACTUALLY RECOVERING FROM BEING REALLY SICK, I ALL OF A SUDDN STARTED HAVING A FEVER, HEADACHE, VOMITING, DIZZINESS, I THINK ITS CUZ I WAS HITTING THE GYM EVERYDAY 7 DAYS A WEEK NO REST, PLUS, IM TAKING T-13(OVER THE COUNTER STEROIDS) BUT IMA STOP TAKING THEM.... THANKS FOR THE TIP AND I WILL FOLLOW YOUR ADVICE GUYS, THANKS.

  • @scooby1961

Hmmm... I must admit that getting started is the biggest problem I have with training. You know, like beating your inner couch potatoe from cattle to predator. I see people like you, then back at me and I think: Man! I must get into better shape! So I just tried that cardio-thing you recommended on the bike and went around 30mph for full 20 minutes. Is Cardio something you can do every day or should it be limited to every 2 days?

Greetings from Germany and keep up the videos!

  • I WANT TO BE LIKE SCOOBY SCOOBY DOBBIEE DOOOO

  • "In the last 10 years, I've made no progress - not an ounce of muscle gained or an ounce of fat lost" - it could be because you have already reached the best possible body a man can do in a natural way.. So you are on the Everest, there is no way up :D

  • i think the most difficult part of working out is starting. i remember when i first started 2 years ago it was difficult since i was not seeing the gains i wanted but the more i did, the more gains i saw. and the more i wanted! aha

  • Hi scooby. Should I do these exercises with rest between every exercise or do all the exercises straight and then rest and repeat?

  • this is just brilliant. TY so much!

  • thanks, Scooby. i needed that.

  • I notice that you wear that hat on almost all of your video, reminds me of people under going chemotherapy treatment.. Are you..?

  • @win771 how inappropriate.

  • @win771 Do you normally make a habit of calling attention to people who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy? Have some compassion and feelings dude!

  • @scooby1961 I really think it's time to turn things around for me man. 5.52am Dublin, Ireland.

  • @scooby1961 well said! you're a real role model ;)

  • @scooby1961 lol that guy was noob

  • @scooby1961 Hey scooby, I made a comment about you not having hair a while back... I'm also a baldy so I thought it was funny. I had no idea until I read this comment and I'm sorry. You are an inspiration to a lot of people including myself.

  • @win771 you'r a dump fuck man get a life!

  • @win771

what a dick you are fool

    Scooby's da man !!!

  • @win771

what a dick you are fool

    Scooby's da man !!!

  • @win771 Watch out, beneath this soft spoken fitness enthusiast, and I mean that in all sincerity, he might take off that killer hat to reveal magnum sized biceps on its brim to pummel you with. Scooby, rock on.

  • @win771 chemotherapy destroys body tissues mahn. so it must obviously make him thin if he's undergoing chemotherapy. I undergo chemo before, and I lose 20pounds because of that shit. age really do matter, I'm 17 and my hairline is fucking going up my shit. kudos!

  • 23 people has got neither any idea nor any interest on bodybuilding & fitness...we luv ya scooby!!!...thank you really really much for the motivation you've given us through out these years & for your great work & selfless dedication to this field...you rock sooby!!!

  • Hi Scooby,I was asking if i'm skinny and thin.Should i eat more and exercise more?Is playing badminton for 1hour a day a Good cardio?

  • I'm kind of noticing that a bit also. My brother started me up at the gym on Jan 5 and basically all I want to do now is go and workout for an hour or so at least 3 or 4 times a week. It was only him and his friend who really got me motivated. This is good for me as a 16 year old, seeing as all I did was play games like 2 or 3 weeks ago all day. I have a feeling the gym will get veeerryy quiet around end of Feb or March.

  • There is no one, absolutely no one in this world, who could say this is a body of a 50 years old, if they don't know your age. Your body is enough proof to trust you in the fitness world!

  • @YoungKrieger Thanks Krieger!

  • I am 5 foot 7 inches, and I was wondering if I can weight 200lbs or a little bit more with mostly muscle mass. I want to be a pro wrestler(I don't care about insults). Of course my height isn't very impressive for this kind of industry unless you are very acrobatic, which I'm not. Only thing I can rely on is looking and being strong and powerful to make it there. If so, what are some good protein powders I can use. Right now I weight 142 and have an average strong upper and lower body.

  • @humbert0acevedo franco colombo was your height and he was a legend

  • Looks like 56 people having the same problem like me..! xDD

  • HEY!im srry i was looking at the dog in the backround the whole time.

  • I really appreciate you having a free workout website program. Most sites charge money, which I can't do as I'm only fifteen. So thanks so much, I'm gonna go check it out right now!

  • you vids rly helped me ! cleared up alot of things i wasn't sure about :) thank you ;)

  • Hey Scoob, what's your thoughts on cold water?

  • @mistermatsuda Please allow me to chime in. Cold water has been shown to increase protein synthesis by 350% and it is scientifically proven to quench thirst.

  • @mistermatsuda LOL! Cold water has no place in my life!

  • Your website strength indicators are flawed. Strength should not be measured in the amount of calisthenics you can achieve, but how much your 1 rep maximum of a barbell back squat, conventional deadlift, flat bench press, and strict overhead presses.

  • @canitasteyou321 My measure of athletic ability is much safer and faster to do than yours. Half the people watching this video would get seriously injured doing your strength test involving 1RM of squats and bench. Its just an "entrance exam" to get a general idea of their ability.

  • @scooby1961

A proper way to measure one's ability of a 1RM is NOT by going all out and doing it immediately. You start at a comfortable weight and progressively add a comfortable load each workout until you no longer can add weight within your working set volume. For example, if my volume was 3x5, that's what I would continue to do until I cannot add anymore weight within those boundaries. To actually find the 1RM, it's safer to use a calculator, however, it may be a little in accurate.

  • @scooby1961

Part 2 from my other post....

It takes quite an un-educated person to hurt themself doing a compound exercise. It would benefit a person much more by doing research on their goals and proper technique, and comparing fitness schemes before chosing a "one size fits all" type routine.

  • Comment removed

  • @canitasteyou321 are you attempting to contribute to this fourm by any chance by suggesting to the experienced people here that squatting, "king of exercises", a nice compound exercise, is a simple and very safe exercise? perhaps deadlifting?

  • @TriathleteP90

Absolutely. When they are done correctly, they are simple and safe. Perfecting them however can sometimes be tricky which is why you build up a load slowly, as you perfect technique.

  • @canitasteyou321 of course. when done correctly. hope nobody inexperienced here bends their back slightly the wrong way... easy mistakes...aweful consequences, like all work outs

  • is that VIETNAM in the background?

  • @10711851 You are indeed correct! I filmed that background in Vietnam last year.

  • @scooby1961 u went to vietnam? and @10711851 ,how did u even know that it was vietnam? lol

  • hey check out my lat pulldown let me know what you think

  • scooby I am 49 years old work out 5 per week I stay active (still racing motorcycles!) i listen to a lot of what you say and I cant seem to find a thing to disagree on you with your awesome and you look great! Thanks for the vids! BUT I weigh in at 179# 5' 9" kinda ripped but cant seem to get rid of this hand full of belly fat around my belly button it just wont go away!!??? what do I need to do? live on salt water and seaweed!!??

  • @BIGTONY2132001 YOUR NUTRITION SUCKS! Type nutrition in scooby's video search box.

  • Since the gym is packed with people this time of year it's going to be very difficult for people to do 4 exercises with one set on each and repeat 3 times like you recommend. I know sometimes I have to work in with someone just to do one exercise.

  • Scooby, I saw on your home page that you removed the section about your upcoming videos :( Why?

Because I was little wondering when you make a video about "How to run for heavy people and people with knee injuries". Are you going to make that video in the future?

  • @HollanderT12345 I removed my "upcoming videos" section because people were getting upset when I mixed up the order as I often do. Some videos had been on that list for over 3 years and I still havent had time to film them. I just have evenings and weekends, I can only do one video a week.

  • This is the best video I've seen all week. Great motivational tips..Thanks Scooby!

  • @Dave19061

You need a low bodyfat % if you want to see the veins more.

  • Hey Scooby, just wondering what are your thoughts or opinion on creatine?

  • @sonyadelaney1970 HE HATES IT! He was against this due to toxicology. But a friend talked him into it, and after some time scooby got a blood test to check. Something to due with his liver NOTHING life threatening! But it was a sign that he was filling himself with junk. I'm rushing this comment so it's very halfass xD

  • @fake9o I DONT MEAN TO HAVE A ROUGH CONVERSATION WITH YOU, BUT IF YOU DONT LIKE THE HELP SCOOBY OFFERS, THEN LOG OUT AND GO TO OTHERS, IVE BEEN FOLLOWING HES ADVISE FOR 2 MONTHS NOW, AND FROM 16% BODY FAT I CUT DOWN TO 13% IN A MONTH AND A HALF. HARD TO BELIEVE BUT TRUE, FOLLOW HES ADVISE BRO', EVENTUALLY YOULL MEET YOUR GOALS. :-)

  • Scooby I feel what you're saying!! I'm so addicted to fitness! Thanks for your videos!

  • HEY SCOOBY, I HAVE PRACTICALLY LEFT A MESSAGE ON EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR VIDS... ONE QUESTION, IS DOING DEADLIFT LIKE 4 TIMES A WEEK GOOD, I TEND TO DO IT CUZ I FEEL STRONGER(SPECIALLY AFTER MY HERNIA SURGERY), BUT IS IT OKAY AFTER MY DAILY WORKOUT TO END IT DEADLIFTING????? PLEASE GET BACK AT ME. AFVIDA-ZAY... I DONT KNOW HOW TO SAY IT, ITS YOUR GOOD BYE AFTER EVERY VIDEO..HAHA

  • @JUANITO5338 You are powerlifting, a subject I am not qualified to answer. Please find a powerlifting coach. IHMO doing deadlift 4 times a week is just asking for injury and overtraining.

  • @scooby1961 I HAVE FOLLOWED YOUR ADVISE AND CONSULTED WITH A LIFTING COACH.. I GOT INTROUBLE FOR LIFTING MUCH SO OFTEN.. THANKS SCOOBY. YOUR THE BEST!

  • @JUANITO5338 Holy cow, doing deadlifts 4 times a week is dangerous and counter productive. You're not giving your muscles enough time to heal and repair after doing deadlifts. You should only do them once maybe twice a week.

  • @JUANITO5338 Auf wiedersehen...

  • @JUANITO5338 its called "auf wiedersehn" its german ;)

  • @1lefthander6 LOL.. THANKS.. "AUF WIEDERSEHN TO YOU ALL".. I APPRECIATE EVERYONES ADVISE AND HELP. THANK YOU!

  • Good advice for the majority but unfortunately im a shift worker so routine is not easy to obtain. I can get motivated for a few weeks and then loose interest when i'm working alot of hours and just take the easy option of eating junk. I suppose Yo-yo is term I could best describe my motivation. Ill take on board what you said and let you know in a few months how it went!

  • Already put my fitness resolution on my channel... lol... time to workout.

  • Wise words, Mr. Scooby! Enjoying your workout and taking it one day at a time is in fact the key.

  • i found that hell motivating thx bro ...thats it im going out 2 my weight bench and getting massive lol

  • Scooby can you speak German fluently? I'm just wondering :-)

  • I thought the background is fake but then saw the dog running....

  • I see motivation in the videos you make. :) Im making videos of my workouts so i can track my results.

  • I really really need your help with advise. What do I do when I have certain muscles bigger than others and some smaller than others some stronger than others and some weaker than others?Do I neglect the stronger bigger muscles and do the weaker smaller muscles untill they become the same size and sterngth or do I do both equally or do I do the weaker smaller muscles more?

  • Your the best man! your my idol:)

  • You're almost too awesome of a guy. haha Built like a tank and nice. Way to be Scooby.

  • love the background scooby! you're amazing, we can do it! :)

  • Hey scoobs I just wanted to tell you I really appreciate all the hard work you put in helping us weak little tubers. I've got two questions:

    1. Does it matter at all that with the fourth set I do for my biceps I can't seem to lift half of the weight as I could in the first set?

    2. Do you own any shirts?

    Greets

  • Dude looks like you lost some fat over the holidays.

  • wow u rlly lost much weight scooby! and by the way thank you for this video!

  • Scooby, I have a bone to pick with you : p You say fatter just makes you fatter, not stronger. Well, I took a mass supplement which made me put on 15 kgs, and it looked mostly like fat, but i was lifting 20 kgs heavier in a short amount of time, with proper form. (About 3 months.) And, haha, i was eating McDonalds often, KFC and a lot of other junk food and no fruit. Here's the kicker.. I'm eating healthier now with the right food, and i've lost muscle and i'm MUCH weaker.

  • @ProphetofGod What is your point here? The more crap you eat the stronger you'll get? It's not about the kilograms you can lift my friend. Your body needs to get used to the healthy food so it's quite normal that you feel like that.

  • @fake9o Care to elaborate on *why* you dont like my personalized workout program software or should I guess? My guess is that it told you that what you wanted was unrealistic. Many people have been brainwashed by the media and advertisers to believe that getting a ripped, muscular physique is easy and quick and they get really angry when I break the truth to them - building a muscular physique with washboard abs is HARD and TIME CONSUMING, period.

  • @scooby1961 i also tried the workout program on your page...as an avid 'home' gym user, i found that if you dont attend a gym, have a partner, or even expensive equipment, the page said your goals were unrealistic. i am very comfortable working out at home with a bench, a variety of free weights and my own body to come up with great exercises within my means until i move on...i can run or walk outside for cardio as well...i eat great and look and feel great...thats my motivation..it takes time!

  • @scooby1961 How do you make your veins pop out?

  • your website isn't working, whenever i try to get the workout plan and enter all my info it doesn't show anything all it says is You must agree to consult your physician. You can do this by checking the box above step one. do you think you could help?

  • @1smax16 why dont you try checking the box with your mouse? lol its the biggest thing on the page

  • @brendan637 hey man dont answer the question if you have no clue what the hell your talking about. and dont be a little smart ass either im pretty sure i know alot more about computers then you,

  • @1smax16 i honestly thought you didnt see it, and dont call me a smart-ass, because i was trying to help you asshole. you may know more about computers than me but i bet u need a fuckin fitness resolution more than me too dickwad

  • @brendan637 yea thats why your watching this video too.....makes perfect sense right. well i wouldnt call you a smart ass if you weren't being one...i was looking for help not a douche bag telling me to click the button......

  • scooby you are awesome you are a genius to. you said this so well.!!!

  • scooby you are awesome

  • You dislike the cold and yet you never wear a shirt? lol ;p soz had to say it

  • Nice speech scoob, really helps to keep going

  • @Frahiam Its a pep-talk, not a speech. "Speech" sounds so NEGATIVE, its one way. What I do is much more interactive, my videos are a way of answering the questions I have been asked. The "how do I stay motivated" question is one I have been asked more than any other so this was my answer :)

  • @scooby1961 didn't meant to say anything negative about the vid at all, but nice pep-talk then :)

  • @scooby1961 Pep-answer ;)

  • I've been away from the dieting and exercise in the last few months, and now I am definitely going back to it.

The biggest gain is not big muscles(although I wouldn't mind them!), but other things like a positive outlook, no horrible trouble from down below(oo-er!) and better reaction times.

  • u r a great person scooby

  • SO GOOD!

  • scoobie i cant believe i am finding your stuff now. all your videos are great. keep up the good work!

  • Scooby one Question why do you use german words at the end of each video? Have you got any german backgrounds?^^

  • Scooby for president!!! :)

  • Scooby please help me..my nipples are big and isn't hard or erecting..im working out for 3 years.. i am 17 years old..HOW TO MAKE MY NIPPLES ERECT FOREVER ??

  • @Shanthen999 Its probly Gynecomastia which should go on there own unless your overweight or been abusing Steroids.

  • @Shanthen999 maybe you have gynecomastia in which case youre fucked because you'll probably have to have surgery. I am not kidding at all, look it up.

  • @Shanthen999 what kind of question is that?

  • @Shanthen999 try ducktaping ice cubes on to them

  • @Shanthen999

    get nipple implants

  • @BiteThis xDD

  • @Shanthen999 thts kinda fucked up to ask a other dude

  • @20rattlers12 xD yea

  • @Shanthen999 looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • @Shanthen999 same prob xd

  • @Shanthen999 you have failed to mention your gender which makes it hard for scooby to give you a solution. Another thing is you are not yet 18 which makes it hard for others to help you out ;) hope that helps :P

  • gotta love your hat

  • hi scooby, only recently started watching your video's and i believe every word you say for one simple reason... you dont want money and you advise that people can do everything without spending cash on useless things.

i wanted to ask you a question without hopefully getting a pillow screem lol, my question is simple, can i do cardio without risking losing muscle and will cardio slow down any progress i am making by lifting weights? thanks, it may sound a silly question but i just aint sure

  • Thanks aot for spending so much time helping others, I have pretty muched watched all your videos and have found myself using alot of your techniques!

  • scooby, i think ur custom workout plan in ur website is kinda not right, and gives people wrong advices.

For example im a skinny guy trying to gain weight and on the "how much body fat u have section" i had to select "4 - 6 packs" coz thats the only thing that will proov imj skinny, choosing any of the other two options (small belly, big belly) will mean i have body fat which i dont.

And now in the results it tells me to do cardio 45 mins per day

  • But imo i dont think i should do cardio more than twice/week or i will become invisible, my goal is to gain weight a lil fat wouldnt harm coz im really skinny.

  • hey scooby need some advise here, ummmm kays, i have just started out gyming for a few months like i think 3months and wanna grow big... shld i start eating or drinking protein shakes/bars after and before i workout or just stick to eating alots of food that contain protein like meat??? btw i am 18 years old so yea.... HELP!

  • @leoblader

u also need to state ur height, weight and objective weight for anyone to be able to give u tips.

  • @florianfan2008 i am abt 175cm and weight abt 65-67kg and what is objective weight?? you mean the weight i wanna achieved??
