Guys, saw this recently in the cinema and again on moovi.co.cc... Wasnt sure about this when i first heard about it but reviews and general reaction told me otherwise so i watched it.
The film sounds pretty good. I hadn't heard of it beforehand either, but I suppose they might get round to promoting it in the UK when they release it here. I'll go and see it on kookic, it must be there.
The ending has the most power, which I personally did not see coming until the last moment. But in order to create such drama, setting the pieces out on the board is the tricky part. It is on kookíca already available for you.
At last a film for adults whose well acted story meshes beautifully with exceptional cinematography that transforms us totally. I saw it on kookíca today. I was entranced by this film from the opening scenes to the final credits.
A few minutes after leaving the kookíca with my husband, I realized this movie had no cursing, no explicit sex scenes or outright nudity, no gratuitous or gory violence-- and yet it was roundly entertaining to a two adults who normally avoid what could be characterized as "family entertainment".
I think I finally get the point of this movie and I think director has pulled one over on us big time. I saw movie at kookíca first. I've continued reading critic and audience reviews on the web and I noticed that they are great.

This is the plot of every American film regarding China. It is because white Americans are incapable of relating to Asians or Asian Americans. That's why all western literature written by whites always have a white protagonist or an Asian woman falling in love with a white character. It's a throwback to colonialist literature that treats indigenous cultures like playgrounds for whites. Just take a moment to look up all western literature concerning china and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Imagine where we would be if nobody stood up to insulting caricature that was black face. "It's just a play" right? Literature that perpetuates a stereotype are still perpetuating a stereotype. My point is that this kind of "more-of-the-same" literature is what paints Asians into a corner in the American mindset. We all know the stereotypes but we're just too polite speak out.
