  • my favorite concertS.I have seen them twice in the eighties.Jumped onstage both times (had a crush on Nancy, still do.Bouncers beat my ass but it was worth it.

  • Ann and Nancy sounds great! ...But the drummer didn't hold up his part all that well.... especially at 2:36

  • feedback noise at 3:51??? They are better than that. The Alive in Seattle concert is much better. They are both so good.

  • @badhorsee LOL, no, it definitely isn't. They do play it way slower now though.

  • where is mark andes and denny carmasi

  • why oh why are they not in the rock n roll hall of fame????

    \

  • LISTEN TO IT LIVE NOW, ITS AN OCTAVE DOWN AT LEAST, FROM THE 78 LIVE

  • so rad never even knew this existed til tonight wow

  • this aint just music to me......the sisters outdid themselves.....OMG

  • Just the way that she sings and pronounces her words just makes you fall into and believe every damn word. Raw talent that can never be measured up to by anyone else. Ann Wilson is my dream woman! :)

  • TYwaaat !!!

  • THIS IS REAL ROCK AND ROLL MY GOD IT IS AWESOME!!! Heart ROCKS!

  • Ann & Nancy will always be number 1. We as fans know where they are and they know the fan following they have. Ann & Nancy are the best and will stay the best. Do they still play at the Moore Theater in Seattle?

With All My Love to Ann, and Nancy. Sir David

  • Incredible. No other word for it.

  • Beautiful Beautiful Mystical and Transcendental song . Talk about singing from the Heart. :)

  • Ann is all on a class of her own, can't compared nobody else to her.

  • i love this band and i think they are cool, they are great in concert great song.

  • Dont know where Ann and Nancy went wrong. They should be up there with Led Zep et all. Anne is best female vocalist since.....................

  • skyball001 since when did they go "wrong"? They are still touring at this moment and have a NEW cd out in 2 weeks....I would say it's all politics for everything in life. So that is what went wrong. People who spread lies and decive others like critics too.

  • @lookherechump true

  • @skyball001 I wouldn't say that they went "wrong," they are rated as one of the best rock bands ever, but I do think that being women they automatically get less recognition. Which is complete bullcrap, if I could only have one artists catalog to listen to it would be Heart without a second thought.

  • This new version is good but I love the raw emotion of the original and the unpolished explosiveness of the tempo change, its all good though.

  • I ♥ HEART!

  • ONe of my most fav Heart songs! Probably fav but then when hear others, it's like damn that's my fav too! Acoustics mixed with electric...effin aye...zep style for sure!

  • That was incredible. I have this DVD and I've watched this clip many times and only just realized how effin amazing it was. You learn somethin' new every day I guess :)

  • This is STILL the greatest version EVER of MISTRAL WIND ( one of my top 20 songs of all time). Originally, it was broadcast on the Disney channel. I bought the official tape when it first came out . They had problems with that release & I returned it because of bad sound quality. I still have My recording from the original broadcast.

  • I just don't understand why you have to yell...lol

I read the original band is playing in WA in a couple weeks!!!!

  • @sbrave well when you ask a stupid question....

  • I love how this song builds - and nobody rocked it better than Heart!

  • I never like this one.

    That being said.

No matter whether it's 1975 or 2010 Ann has always been amazing at singing the music.

The voice has changed but she still is special when it comes to singing live. I think it's why Heart has lasted all these years.

They were then and still are great live. It's Ann's voice which always singing the music and not the notes.

For a lack of a better word she always sings with Heart:P

  • Think its horrible that Ann WIlson(heart) isnt in the Rock n Roll hall of fame!!!! IF agreed thumbs up and lets start a petition and get heart in!!!!!

    LETS DO THIS!!!!!

  • I am 53 years old and am convinced that never has there been, nor, will there ever be a female that can sing like this!...Thanks lookherechump for this!!

  • Annie is Beautiful, I was 16, when Heart did their first album. Man I lost my mind.

I lost my mind, i still do.

  • @MKHellBilly55 I totally agree !!! I was 15 when they came out with Dreamboat Annie and have been a big fan ever since!!! The Wilson sisters are magical !! Ann has one AMAZING voice...Ive been lovin Ann and Nancy since then. Ann makes me lose my mind also!!!!!!! What Rock Godesses!!!!

  • ANN IS THE BEST SINGER EVER! WOW!

  • must check out this : Seattle 2002

  • YES a masterpeice. so much talent.

  • I have to agree with mediacritic...Mistral Wind is Heart's masterpiece, and this unplugged version doesn't really fly. When the drums kick in & Ann starts wailing, there need to be LOUD ELECTRIC GUITARS. And with all due respect to Jonesy, the "string arrangements" were about as milquetoast (and ultimately unnecessary) as they come. Watch their Seattle 2002 performance of this if you want to get your shit totally blown away.

  • oliasdoug----saw the seattle 2002 version----then i saw the 1978 version compliments of " lovesheart" ---her voice back then was a force of nature--young, raw, sexy-----a sight and sound to behold ---although as a drummer i have to say the percussion in the 2002 video was flawless

  • @alsticks1 you mean alive in seattle ? that was ben smithon drums

  • Best female rock singer of all time.

  • yup....no one compares...and saw her two nites ago...still as good as ever

  • oh my Goddesses, still sends shivers up my spine, one of the most powerful songs in the history of rock.

  • How old is this, with Howard Leese still in there?

He should come back so they can ditch the new guy...

  • @sbrave ARE YOU THAT OUT OF IT??? OR DO YOU NOT KNOW HOW TO READ??????? READ THE INFO AND PLEASE GET THE ANSWER IN THE FIRST SENTENCE!!! I ♥ PEOPLE WHO DON'T READ !

  • ann, she's the best vocalist in rock..it used to be lydia pense was the 'headcutter' of bar band singers, she she gave it up to age a couple of years ago, ann is strong as ever

  • Love this song, but not crazy about this unplugged version. This tune cries out for amps, decibels & power chords, imo.

  • Good Mix , Drums are perfect

  • Amazing. Horrible editing tho on this show. Could they cut any more from before, during and after Ann hits the big note? One or two shots would have been fine.

  • How I LOVE the Wilson sisters!!!!!! Thats TALENT and Beauty......Anns voice is Cream of the Crop !! Love her Flute playing and Nancys Guitar playing!!!! Im indebted to these sweet ladys for a lifetime for givin me/us the EXTREME pleasure of their music all these years!!!!

  • lmao @ 'my generation got screwed!'

  • therapeutic singing, for sure.

  • What an astonishing set of pipes Anne has. The sheer art/heart attack of it all!! Robert Plant be damned. Strike that last comment, the Wilsons wouldn't approve of me slating their beloved LedZep, & I kinda like em meself. Gorblimey, strewth. flamin' galah an all that.

  • This song reminds me why I think my generation has the best music ever. Thanks for the teen memories Heart...Sigh..

  • Yeah you guys in the late sixties and seventies really got some great music. My generation got screwed.

  • Hows that? This is performed in th 90's. It's never too late to check out anything that you think is great music.Past or present.

  • Yup. We got screwed bad.

  • Boo Hoo There are so many talented bands and musicians that I got screwed. I never got to see anything in the 1920's or 1930's some of the BEST music ever and you missed the 70's. Just listen to the radio cause they still play all the music that was played. You just have to listen better yet get sirius/xm and hear anything you ever wanted too !!!

  • I never meant cause i missed the 70's... I meant cause the 90's was a shit decade for music.

  • No no, the 90s were bliss compared to the 2000s. 60s 70s were golden, the music was "so good" it needed a long rest from quality music, hense everything since. Especially now.

  • God I forgot how much I love this song

  • Thanks Canada! :-)

  • u said it all, dog

  • HEART IS NOT FROM CANADA !!!! They are U.S. citizens. They only went there to avoid the vietnam war draft so no band members would be taken. Nothing more. period !

  • @lookherechump

Wow....all these years I thought they were Canadian, but after reading your comment I Googled them...something I couldn't do in the 80's. They are, in fact, from Seattle. We learn something new every day! Thanks for informing us.

  • Fraid it's true Ken. Heart are from Seattle. They spent a brief period in Vancouver to avoid the draft. Fortunate for some of us. My step-brother got to see them play at a house party. The did record at Mushroom Studios on 5th ave though.

  • This is such a loverly song. 8}

    Really infuses the soul.

When ever you're feeling a little blue,

    it gives strength.

  • Awesome. I forgot all about this song. Great song. This is off of Dog and Butterfly right?

    I miss that LP.

  • If people like this check out the cal jam2 little queen.

I don't harbor wild celebrity fantasies but if I could go back in time meet someone famous to possibly change the course of their life I think it would be ann wilson 1978.

  • ann excelent voice and nancie magnifice guitar heart is marvel

  • My god. What I would give to see them live.. or MEET them.

It's my DREAM. A lot of people can't believe it because I'm 17. lol...

  • i hear ya christieeya. im 14 so there isnt much chance of me goin to a concert or meeting them but it is totally my DREAM too

  • They are touring now. Saw them last night in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They played this, and I was stunned. Heavy Zeppelin influence, and Anne's voice one of the best in rock. Filled every nook and cranny of the hall. 'Heart' is one of America's greatest rock bands. I grew up with them in the 70's, and never considered them a 'chick band. but rather a band that rocked, that had chicks in it.

  • Yea, they're not coming to Jacksonville though. Trust me..ALWAYS on the look out!lol. Thanks for the reply! And you're so lucky to have grown up with them! I also knew that they were influenced by Zepplin. I've watched interviews. =] That makes it even cooler that they were known as the "female version" of Zepp! They are WITHOUT A DOUBT one of the best rock bands ever! And Ann's voice is the BEST in my opinion. I mean, no one covers anything other than Barracuda or crazy on you. (continued)

  • And I think that's because they can't! The song.. "Break" or this one for instance no one else can sing, and sound ROCKIN! Ann is one of a kind. I admire her so very very much! =]

    I'll stop typing now. haha.

  • One more thing Christieeya: See if you can find an interview in "Guitar Player" magazine with A&N from about '79 or '80. I remember reading it hot off the press. Tells a lot about their young lives, I'm sure you would enjoy it!

  • Sorry, one more thing: Just listening to electric version of Mistral, reminded of how Heart made excellent use of one cool instrument: Moog synthesizer(archaic). I noticed they still use it in their electric shows. Love the Moog!

  • Thanks a lot for replying with all of this cool info! I enjoyed reading all of them! lol. =]

  • Ya know.. I've ALWAYS wanted to write to them. But I haven't a clue as to how to do it! Do you have the address I should mail it to? Do I go to a fan club or something?

  • Go to their website they have a fanclub.

  • I believe you. I'm 47. When I was 17 and 18 I saw Heart in Austin and Houston. Used to write letters to Nancy. Tried to sync up two turntables to play "Mistral" in my dorm. Very spooky. I still love Heart. I'd love to meet them, too. After all these years. Write to them, maybe they'll send you a poster. They sent me one (from their current album at the time: bebe le strange).

  • Holyyyyyyyyy fkin shit that was awesome with the orchestra playing in the background. Reminds me why HEART is my favourite band, love always to Ann and Nancy...

  • Wow !! Was that a great performance or what ?! I hope you fans enjoy this rare one !!

  • An amazing force in Rock and Roll! Stunning! THANK YOU FOR POSTING!

  • damn! this is great!

  • Proof once again that Heart Rocks - Always has & always will! <3

  • That kicked plenty ass

  • Great song. I've loved it for years. Heart is always good live.

  • A total MASTERPIECE of all times.

    REAL ROCK AND ROLL.

HEART ruled in the 70's and 80's

  • Ditto my friend! Well said!

  • On their greatist hits album, The version of this song was recorded live at the madhouse on McDowell, (Memorial colesium) Phoenix, AZ. at the state fair. the concert was free. It is the baddest live recording I have ever heard. and I was there.

  • This and Dream of the Archer ranks up there with 2 of their most outstanding song they made! Also Im lookin for their song Rockin Heaven Down on you tube and have yet to find it.

  • perfection
