@DickieAnginson The film wasn't that big at the box office. The title role of the male was offered to John Travolta who started filming but then left, it was offered to Christopher Reeves next who also turned it down. The woman's role was offered to Julie Christie Then Meryl Streep who both turning it down finally Lauren Hutton excepted the role. The song Call Me was No1 in USA, UK. Canada. and mainly top 3 in many other countries around the world. The film is No 25 of 1980 rotten tomatoes award
@DickieAnginson The song stands alone as a classic I don't remember even hearing about the film when the song was No1. It is a great pop song, it was voted in the UK the No1 song of the 1980s which says a lot for the song. After the song success lots of adverts appeared in the back of certain news papers and magazine with adverts with pictures of glamorous blonde girls with the slogan CALL ME, DEBBIE SAID CALL ME ETC. it went on for years I think it started phone sex empires, I'm sure of it LOL
@zzzhuh-I must of missed the big synth section among other elements in the middle of Children of the Grave, which incidentally is just a copy of the Dr. No theme. It's a vaguely similar progression for a few seconds. Look up Child In Time and Bombay Calling or Some Kinda Hate and Teenage Kicks and you may figure something out.
@ihasch Dr.Who has a totally different beat but those other songs sound similar where as this sounds the exact same, I looked at the tabs and they are almost identical.
@zzzhuh-The Dr. Who theme has always been associated with Children of the Grave and also One of These Days by Pink Floyd, although there were a number of variations on the theme over the years depending on which season. I looked at the tabs and they didn't seem similar. They both have that double beat in the intros which in this song is played on the drums, although the notes are different. Then they go their separate ways.
That song brings back so many memories at the beginning of high school, girls and my attempt to go see adult films and succeed even though I was underage.
What I find here, are simply "images." Images of Ronald Reagan, and of an artistic and glamorous woman who once was, along with images of timeless music. I also find here, images of elder generations that saved America from the relentless "dumbing down" from progressives, marxists, communists, and socialist factions determined to destroy America's constitution by any means, and create new doctrines in their own likeness.
But hidden within this video, are the darker images of today's America.

Lyla skitty baby: This video is meant to showcase 2 things: the song being sung "Call Me" and highlights of her life. You missed the point. Good post big mouth woman.
@HFLanciaStratos I did grow up in the 80's and it was everything that you think it was. It was the last decade before everything became illegal, immoral or deadly. In short, it was fun, alot of fun.
@vancvrman604 Vancouver, Canada, area code 604, was fun for about 2 years 1979-80, then the mass public hype-hysteria of the culture made the psychology of the masses go so far as to make the absurd triumph over the sensible, the insane triumph over the rational, and even the gay triumph over the straight, not to mention drugs & booze flowing freely like water; and "Winning Through Intimidation" (remember that book?) becoming the new social standard.
Part of this video is not her singing call me. where she is standing on stage in a blue strapless is her another one of her songs. Dream something. I can't remember the name but it aint call me

And some real violence too.
