I, on the other hand have a blue guitar which, as any guitarist will tell you, makes playing much harder, so my playing sounds a bit crap. As soon as I get round to painting some green bits on my guitar, I'll be playing just like Glenn. I'd love to see HIM playing a blue guitar, I bet he's crap too :)

I have no idea where this "It's the same as Satriani" idea come from. It sounds fuck all like any Satriani song I've ever heard. I suspect there are a lot of people here who are trying desperately to find something which sounds remotely, kind of similar to this and use it as a criticism. A great guitar player, no doubt, BUT, not only your tone, but your phrasing, everything sounds exactly like Satch and Vai. You have the ability, now you need to change EVERYTHING!!! EVERYTHING!!! Sound, phrasing (play the opposite of what you normally would) whatever it takes, strip down everything from guitar, amp, phrasing, and simplistic BS to just play over. I have listened to epic amounts of both guitar players mentioned and I can say without a doubt that I dont think Glenn is copying in the least, seems to go out of his way to hit phrases that are different, and new, while still playing rock guitar.

I hope he keeps playing.

I don't know how to describe it, but his music doesn't breathe. It sounds like he is noodling in his garage. Great instrumental music has spaces in between the runs and his just doesn't. He certainly can showcase his playing, but his composition is lacking. Learn to play AND compose from the masters, not just how to play like/from them.
