i think it would by great a great for metal i mean look at the amount of gain metal players are useing it's rlly nt alot and i think this would be great and o ya good vid next time can u go straight to the computer though?
i heard about that you dont need a amp to record because there is an effect which simulated the recording with a amp (called speaker sim) is that true ? and the most important question have that good quality because i dont have a good amp because of the neighbors ....
A simple solution from TC to address all the concerns about the OD/Distortion circuit would have been to include an effects loop so that you could either use the 4 cable method to utilize the lead channel of a channel switching amp, or to incorporate your own favorite OD/Dist pedal in to the unit. I really cannot understand why they omitted an effects loop. It's a deal breaker for me.
You can get some amazing metal with the parametric eq in the nova system + the analog distortion. I hope TC comes out with a nova system 2 or something in between the nova system and their flagship g-system. it's the only thing i would buy now that i have a nova system. the g-system is a beast but it's just too expensive, for 1700$ i'd rather buy a guitar or an amp head
I like more agressive music and i own a 2 channel dual rec. Can you use the nova systems overdrive to push the tubes just like a maxon or ibanez tube screamer?
It's not designed for metal sounds, fucktards. If you want metal, buy a Diezel or Mesa amp (for example) or something like a metal zone pedal.
You can't criticise the nova for something it's not trying to do. You sound like the twats on harmony central - 'my fender hot rod's distortion is awful for metal therefore i think this amp is shit!' - buy a fucking metal amp then you spazz, something designed for that!
The nova system is shit hot at what it's designed to do and sounds fantastic.
Based on what I've heard. I actually reckon the distortion tones from this unit sound pretty good. People keep saying things like they are 'ok at best' but I am yet to hear them sound bad in any videos.
I know you can get better but I've heard a lot worse from some standalone pedals by well known manufacturers.
Perhaps it is different if you are playing the thing yourself.
And there is something that a lot of people forget. You can use the eq to make your od or ds to sound whatever you like. You can make a scooped one or anything expept metal metal maybe. Its just need time and experimentation.
Line 6 ain't that great when you started seeing what else is out there!!! people shouldn't get hung up on amp sims!!! just get a good amp that you like! not some unit that gives you 30 fake/bad sounding virtual amps
couldnt have said it better. but ill go one further. Distortion pedals are a joke. Its better to spend your money on a goood amp with a good heavy tone or whatever you look for rather than have a pedal simulate that. I have this pedal but i only use the effects such as chorus delay and reverb.
Nova system bypasses the drive section (designed by T Rex, btw) when you are using it with the loop (+4 dbu) input, as it should - you don't want preamp drive that close to your power amp.
Joe, I just received my Nova System today. I am using the drive guitar input and a stereo power amp. I sounds like I can hear my clean/straight guitar sound mixed in with the Nova System, even when using a high gain setting. Do you have the same issue? Is there a mixture setting to completely remove the unprocessed guitar signal, so you get 100 percent Nova distortion/overdrive? Are my ears playing tricks on me?
Just FYI - Mine does that too but only on the Overdrive... The Distortion setting does not do this and sounds fine... I have not messed around too much with it to figure out how to "fix" it or if it's supposed to be that way...?
Can I use a midi controller and hookup my POD Xt pro to one of these? I want to use the BOSS FC 300 midi controller and have 2 different rigs..one clean (with this TC) and the rock on with xt pro...can this be done? is it possible? That midi controller has 2 amp inputs..I want to use that to do what I said ...hhaha...any thoughts?
there is an other mode on the nova system... in that mode you can store the effect that you want where ever you want so you can do e flanger on one switch and e tremolo on an otther switch and a phaser on an other switch....
i recently bought a nova system and im having trouble with the levels, ill be clean through my amp and ill turn the drive and i can never get the level equal also when i add more gain the level jumps, HELP?
well sorta....... the deal is. the effect is not activated when you step on the pedal its activated when you release your foot from it. so if you step on say...the drive....and then release your foot when you need the effect then it will be spot on.
Very good sound! please tell us the amp that you used and the type of connection. Is it straight into the amp's input? or in the return circuit (the amplification without the preamplifier)
hey thanks a lot, the drive sounds good. if you could, could you please post a video on the delay/reverb settings, that would be really helpful for me because i'm strongly considering getting the nova system for the drive, delay/reverb the eq, and the modulations. how do you like it, or would you recommend something else? and btw, nice playing.
Dude. If only the Nova System took on the Line 6 M13 Stompbox design. That would make instant money overnight.

On the control panel of nova u can change the gain level for each preset / whole nova.

no not really. you can only run one modulation at a time. you can however make a very convicing mild chorus using the detune mode of the pitch bank.
