No he didn't... this song came from a very popular composer known as Nobuo Uematsu who did every Final Fantasy game soundtrack ever made.. He is brilliant.. and this is an excellent rendition of the song... brilliant lad..

Actually (sadly?), Uematsu started getting away from the FF serie after the 9th episode. Now, he just composes the main theme of each new episode, and that's it.
