My wife wants to take Aikido with our new baby boy when he gets old enough. I wouldn't mind to take it as well if I can make the time for it (I work nights). This was a very informative video. I'll be sending it to my wife. :)
This is a great video. Makes me really miss training. I've had a few opportunities to attend seminars with Takeda sensei and have found it to be very special. He is simply amazing. If you ever happen to take ukemi from him, you not only learn a lot about technique and practice, but you'll also learn a lot about yourself!
In anycase, I might be going too far with this to try and show our very aiki similarites but in all due respect. You taught me the core meaning of Aikido and so I returned the favor and hopefully we both shall develop, grow and become more wholesome in our humanity and our inner self-worth. Thank you for teaching these people that agression is not always a good thing, but it's not at all that bad when done passively. :)

- Systema is about Mind, Body and Soul to be respected as one entity even though they are 3 aspects of humanity. We teach breath-work before before any physical movements and teach our students on how to rotate internally in the form of joints and energy so create a subtle flow inside us similar to Aikido's external flow in their usual tenkan steps. We teach 3 different distances to engagement that is always there in any situation: mind, body and soul. They are the First Distance-
I really appreciate this incredible insight that finally an open mind has given the world what most of us who find out that "strength isn't everything" have known and given up trying to explain. That the human body is capable of being and understanding every situation if you understand how to simply see that it starts firs tin the mind then translates into the body. I am a Russian Martial Arts Group leader here in the Philippines promoting Systema and we share many principles to the aiki way. -

It's really insightful to hear someone of such experience telling their story and expressing their thoughts in this straightforward manner.
