To me...a lot more believable as a couple, she and Sherman Hemsley, than the unrealistically successful lawyer-doctor couple, Claire and Cliff Huxtables. She made you know, in her character, and her manner, on The Jeffersons, and in life, she never forgot where she came from. She had poise, and grace, dignity, and gusto.. a rare combination we rarely see today. ~ ♥ you Isabel!

Feast your eyes on Black History. This woman was a Legend and her background even before she starred in the Jeffersons is amazing. This is Black History at its finest. And she was the most beautiful 84 year old I have ever seen.

I just noticed she said her given first name is Isabel, but on IMDB it lists it as "Eloise"...and for the record, her middle name was Gwendolyn. :)

She never looked her age. She was 84 here. During "The Jeffersons" run she was ages 57-67. RIP.

Yes...So true! She looked great. Some may not know that she was 20 years younger than "George" in real life yet she looked as young as he was. One of the many great legends of television.

No, justb421, I am not 3. Unlike SOME PEOPLE, I just HAPPEN to be a believer in the good Lord and Heaven, and I know Isabel was a believer like I am and I happen to have something you clearly don't, and that's FAITH -- not to mention WAY better manners!
