With Magic healthy that entire '83-84 season, the Lakers might have had homecourt throughout the playoffs and into the world championship series vs Boston, but L.A. couldn't beat out the Celtics for the best record and ended up coming up short in Game 7 at Boston Garden in the Finals that year...

LA was the better team, better athletes, perhaps just slightly, but nonetheless. Tough how that series panned out, the critical mistakes by Magic and Worthy that were the difference between title or anger. Smelts were good at pulling out close ones, Philly knew that lesson even better than LA.
