what if i told you that she DOES HAVE a hjc string? but nobody uses it anyway because she has 66a and 5a. Despite her good for nothing midscreen game she's hard to shake off. So when meiling's in she really is in because of her infinite blockstring. She really is a good character if you'd know how to use her and it still makes me wonder why you'd call her the weakest character. Maybe we should play iamp together.

"best character, worst character" pssssh the most important things are the skill levels between two players. Just practise more often and you can even beat sakuya with meiling

Meiling's absolute biggest downfall is her pathetic damage output, and that doesn't matter if you have a more thorough knowledge of IaMP than your opponent.

She's bad, but she's not that bad.

Well, perhaps I was stretching it slightly. chinonononozu's comment was just really pissing me off for some weird reason.

But really, Meiling doesn't play at all like other characters from IAMP. She doesn't have any HJC rush strings or projectile blockstrings. I mean, she plays more like Chun-Li than Reimu. (That might be off; never actually played Street Fighter before...)

pffffft meiling doeznt need any hic strings becuase she has frameadvantages with only her normals. i suggest you to watch more vids of comptetitive meiling plaeyrs.

Read the line more carefully.

HJC _RUSH_ strings. This is part of what sets her out from other characters. No character needs 'em.

And I came to this conclusion BY watching oxide and other meiling vids. Because, though Meiling might be the weakest character, it's really awesome when she wins.

She also has really sucky projectiles and damage, but that's another matter.

And by frameadvantages, do you mean just for stuffing or block-advantage?

Don't really get this "worst character" thing, I think the players play their characters well, especially your "idol", who seems more than just a Patchouli player.

The "best" and "worst" characters are based on statistics gathered from a tournament. Meirin and Yukari players did very badly across the board, while other characters did extremely well across the board.

Yup, I've been more aware of that now (posted around the time I didn't even play, watch or know much about IaMP yet), but thanks for replying.

Meirin's considered lowest Tier anyway, so I understand why some Meirin players did horribly.

The Yukari player ran out of bombs in the 3rd round, so she couldn't get out of Meiling's corner pin.

I think the yukari player did well in the first round, but was shocked in the 2nd and 3rd round: the Meriling was too evasive, projectiles just doesn't seem to work on him.

Just seeing Meiling wins a match is awesome enough, but seeing her winning without using her Spell Card is jaw-dropping OMG.

That was as close to perfect pressure Mei I've ever seen in that third round. The other guy didn't know what to do it seemed.
