  • but he is talking about his tour with porcupine tree or not??

  • Wesley's "solo" work is amazing...

Pretty Live's is a fav of mine.

  • Check out Sun Domingo. He is featured on their new EP, and hopefully will be touring with them this fall in the northeast.

  • i thought welsley was british too!

  • He's the touring guitarist for Porcupine Tree not the recording. He's also toured with Fish.

I'm sitting right next to him right now haha. He's an incredible song writing and guitarist... but even a better producer.

  • @RussellPhillips88 He recently has recorded with PT, but yeahhe's great on his own right...

  • I wish Porcupine Tree would invite me to their recording sessions. You guys are so lucky.

  • Yeah and it's really a shame. I love Steven's writing but he's definitely a better guitar player.

  • This is the first time i've ever seen an interview with him. Funny, I always though he was British.

  • John Wesley is a great musician in his own right, and Babicz guitars are amazing. I wish I had money to buy a Spider.

  • I took a couple of lessons from this guy at Musicians institute

  • He is talented too! wow,

  • are these guitars sold in any retail stores?

(I can't buy a guitar before playing it)

  • steven wilson and joey eppard from 3 use the same guitar :D

  • I'm ordering one ASAP!

  • He isn't John wesley of porcupine tree. he is john wesley. he has toured on his own, and has 2 albums. He isn't counted a member of porcupine tree yet seeing as he only tours with them, he doesn't do anything for the albums.

  • He has way more than 2 albums.

  • Seriously? I have checked a lot of places and the only things they had were "shiver", "ten", and the LIVE album. if you can, Send me a message with a link to some more albums please!

  • Check out his myspace page - he's offering free album downloads from there.

  • sorry ! Wes (john wesley) is a guitarist, songwriter, singer from USA (Florida, tampa I think). as solo artist he recorded more than 2albums (exactly 5 :

Under the Red and White Sky 1994,

The Closing of the Pale Blue Eyes 1995,

The Emperor Falls 1998,Chasing Monsters 2002,

Shiver 2005) and many live recordings.

He joined Porcupine Tree for the In Absentia tour, Then became 5th man of the band !

on Deadwing and Fear of a blank planet he plays guitar, sing vocals

    he's complementary to SW

  • Whoa he's from Tampa? I live an hour away from there! lol. sweet.

  • He played lead guitar and sang harmony vocals on the "In Absentia" record . . .

  • He only played guitar on Blackest Eyes on In Absentia.....and he only sang backing vocals on Blackest Eyes, Sounds of Muzak and Prodigal....

  • He's on every album these days, though. Wilson even called him ''our American guitar player'' in an interview.

  • He's a touring member not a recording member.

  • He records on their records, so how can he not be a recording member?

The only difference is that he's not present on every single song, and isn't listed under ''Porcupine Tree is:".

  • Incorrect, he was not featured ANYWHERE on The Incident or Deadwing and only did backing vocals on Fear of a Blank Planet. You really should check your facts before you post. : /

  • His wikipedia article says that he IS on The Incident, and I remember seeing an interview with Wilson also confirming this.

  • @tylercjbradshaw you guys dont know shit, just shut up please

  • @Peavy262 He isn't John wesley of porcupine tree. he is john wesley. he has toured on his own, and has 2 albums. He isn't counted a member of porcupine tree yet seeing as he only tours with them, he doesn't do anything for the albums.

Just to show you what you wrote.

He does play solos on their albums sometimes.

  • He actually has more than 2 albums.

  • @Peavy262 He actually helps produce the guitars on the albums. And on the song Blackest Eyes Steven had him play guitar the help thicken up the sound a bit.

  • @Peavy262 he does alot for the PT albums...

  • @Peavy262

So I suppose de didn't play extra guitars on Blackest Eyes and sung backing vocals on Blackest Eyes, Prodigal, Sound Of Muzak and the whole of Fear Of A Blank Planet album, even though it's clearly stated in the credits?

  • @CarryingNoCross So I suppose you're not a fucking retard for responding to a comment that was from 3 years ago?

  • @Peavy262

Well, it's the first time I've seen this comment and the fact that it's been made 3 years ago doesn't change a thing. True, Wes is not a full member but he is featured on some albums and I don't see how the time of making the comment changes anything. It was still made after FoaBP anyway. And btw, kudos for using the 'f' word, it makes your arguments so much stronger. I wish I could be as eloquent as you, I'm honestly impressed. Huggs and kisses, CNC.

  • Just bought a Babicz guitar today...haven't put it down for six hours!

  • I met john wesley at a porcupine tree show in nottingham!

  • ...a transducer is a device that changes one form of energy into another. hence, a piezo is a transducer. why do people misuse that word all the time?

  • John Wesley is my favourite artist of all time

  • More so than Steven Wilson?

  • John Wesleys solo stuff is just amazing, so yeah

  • Did you download it off his myspace?

  • Some of it, but I've bought 3 other albums too.

  • interesting!

  • An evolution of the Acoustic Guitar - such a very timid instrument, and sometimes impossible to tame.

I'm interested haha. John Wesley is truly admirable aswell.
