This song is great, just beautiful. His voice cries out all the frustration, the angryness the people must have felt just right after Katrina. All their houses were destroyed, nothing was left to live in.
I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Ellis a few weeks ago, other performers should take lessons from him on how to thank his fans for their support, not only is he the greatest singer/songwriter but appreciates his audience and the folks that buy his music, a fan forever.....
Ellis is an amazing singer and songwriter, the best there is. Never miss a chance to see him live. If you're just discovering his music, don't keep it to yourself.
You are amazing. i found you through Kenn fox like a year a go and i have your cd and i always listen to it. you are such a good roll model for young artists like me. check out my videos!
I saw him play this in Boothbay Harbor in Maine...last October. One of the best concerts I've ever seen! He played in this very run down opera house...and blew us all away!
So many of Ellis's songs are so good that's it's unfare to call only one my favorite but, this song touches me more than any other. Beautiful lyrics and sung with so much feeling.
