Yes I'm white, but I loved Amos 'n' Andy when I was a kid. They did not represent a stereotype of black people to me, since I lived in neighborhood that was mixed races and ethnic groups and I knew better. I loved it because it was FUNNY! They were not more stereotypical than the Jeffersons or Sanford&Son. Great performers who are not getting the recognition they deserve because of the short-sightedness of the NAACP. They never said "nigga" either.
Amos and Andy was one of if not the best show of all time in my opinion. I think the actors were some of the best ever. The NAACP needs to work to right a wrong that they did to these wonderful performers and get them the recognition they so richly deserve. By the way, I am white.
