@Rapide0910 well if their tastes are gay ass european thats their problem not mine and ignoramus really? Thats the best insult you got haha assface virgin puto!!!
needing a government bail out. How about this for a commercial GM, " Dear America, sorry for building crap cars for the passed 3 decades or so and branding said crap cars as 80 different brands. Thanks for the bail out and we promise to do better." Crawl before you walk etc etc.
Not really anything worth spending money on a commercial to brag about anyway. Firstly, you're comparing apples to oranges as far as cars go. Secondly, bragging in commercials is a real turn off to me anyway. GM has made an art of it with their Corvette commercials, my favorite being how they had to turn the HP down by about 150 on the Corvette engine to compete in the ALMS. BTW, who won that series championship this year? Oh yeah, BMW. And you don't see them bragging, or going bankrupt and nee
And? The Cadillac still looks ugly as hell compared to the ferrari. I don't see anyone getting excited about seeing one in person except rednecks. lol
They make it sound like ferrari used all of cadillac's technology to build their supercar. Typical, they make on contribution to the automotive world and they think it's a best thing since sliced bread. But i'm not too concerned once you get past the suspension, the choice is obvious. The 458 has 6 more hp without forced induction and 1.7 liters less, a more sophisticated 7 speed dual clutch gearbox, weighs about 500 pounds less, and it has carbon-ceramic brakes. tough decision....
@FoxGTR34Nismo1 I agree with you, but they do that for a reason. No person can shift as fast as a dual clutch Gearbox. And allowing the transmission to shift itself in a matter of mili-seconds, the car can cut several tenths of a second off of its quarter mile.
@Sueds90 Its also over double the price, but I get where you are going with this. There's no denying the Italia is a LOVELY and great car... just good to see that Cadillac makes some parts that go into cars WORLD RENOWED for their performance.
i'm pretty sure it was chevy that bought a ferrari to do reverse engineering for their corvette, not a cadillac cts. i'm female and i'm just laughing at this commercial though. i wonder what ferrari's gonna say...

Wow... Haha you people aren't horrendously biased or anything... This is actually true. But you are all to stuck up to realize that. Ferrari took the system and made it there own. They got the idea from Cadillac. No one said because its from American that it is the best. The CTS is a great daily driver and performance car for the money. So how about you all stop making opinions about 2 cars you've never even sat in...
@twztd28 Technically, here's how it went: The Real Time Damping system was designed originally by GM for use in the '97 Corvette. In 2002, the system was overhauled for the '03 50th Anniversary Corvette, when the Magnetic Selective Ride Control (ie, magnetic shocks) were installed and teamed up with the RTD computer.
Later, GM spread the system around in a couple of the Caddies as well as including it in the new-at-the-time C6 Corvette in 2004 (2005 model year). GM licensed the first generation of the system out to Ferrari, but they realized Gen1 couldn't handle the abuse at the track. Originally, the MSRC wasn't designed to deal with the heat loads the dampers are put through at the track, and Ferrari (and automotive journalists) noted damper failures.
During the development of the '09 CTS-V and the '09 Corvette ZR1, GM introduced Gen 2 of the MSRC which could, in fact, deal with the abuse at the track. Ferrari, Audi, and a few other manufacturers were quick to license the system for use in their new cars as well.
The ad is funny but a hair misleading. The system wasn't "pioneered" by Cadillac, it was "pioneered" by Corvette.
@jasonmvanpatten I knew most of that, but I'm unsure as to whether the 09' CTS-V or the 09' ZR1 was the first to actually incorporate this at launch date. Most people don't even regard the fact that the ZR1 has this system, the CTS-V is actually more known for it. Which could be why they decided to use that as a template for the commercial instead of the Vette.
@twztd28 Actually, the ZR1 was available a tad bit earlier than the CTS-V in 2008, but again, the system was always the Corvette's to begin with ('02 and beyond). The reason they didn't use the ZR1 in the ad is because using the V (in Coupe format... it would have been a *worse* slap in the face had they used the Wagon version...) sort of slaps Ferrari in the face. Using the ZR1 wouldn't have, really, since in every way, shape, and form, the ZR1 is the better car than the 458. :-)
@jasonmvanpatten While I agree somewhat, the real reason they chose to use the cadillac and not a ZR1 is because its a Cadillac ad (and its the highest performance caddy at that). It seems lately GM has been trying to separate caddy away from the "american" stigmata and GM bad-rep. Which I think is a plus...
Haha, Bullshit, Ferrari wouldn't need to go to some stupid company like this for ideas, They have 100 works just to pick the best spot to place the buttons on the steering wheel.
