It's not the 2nd gen... The 2nd gen would be the iPhone 3G. Your phone is the 1st gen iPhone which is only capable of 2G networks. Don't mix things up.

Categories use network resources not system resources . so basiclly it depends if you are on a fast 3g , wifi, or edge network.

You cant just yet , The firmware is not public yet, I am pretty sure three weeks after it goes live redsnow or quickpwn will have a jailbreak for it.

it's 3.1 cant jailbreak it yet , but the speed is the fastest I have seen it's pretty good.

No not jailbroken , I installed and there is still glitches , I cannot open my videos :(
