I think it's too slow. but then again, I also think it needs drum machines and a didgeridoo, and aaron coplands ghost playing a banjo, so what the heck do I know?

while playing is left up to individual interpretation, the tempo is meant to be used as a guide. back during Haydn's day, we didn't have time examples for marking like we do today i.e. quarter = 120. However, I can tell you that Allegro con brio is not a slow pace by any means. beethoven's sonata no 3 is marked that in the first movement and you'll probably find people playing it at the same pace she is playing this piece.

I have to say, I think that she is playing it a bit too fast. Indeed, people should be allowed artistic freedom, but it seems a bit too fast. Allegro Con Brio, but this seems more like Presto. But it's beautiful, nonetheless. Bravo, keep on playing. What can I say. After all, I can barely play the first two measures.

This is definitely how fast it should be.

With the sound quality, I can't comment on how "clean" (between notes) this was, but definitely this is the right speed.

good tempo. i am sick of people coming on Youtube and saying everything is too fast, and whenever someone plays something super slow they say "perfect tempo".. like several others have said, this is marked allegro con brio. It should be fast, and there is no set exact tempo that is right, for any piece of music, every person has the freedom to interpret and make it their own.

Pity the sound quality isn't better. Good style - con brio is missing from so many of the other performances posted here. It needs to go that fast, even if the wheels fall off.

It was a bit fast you should slow down because the last movement is the fastest, and at this speed you cant speed up anymore. Also you mess up more w. speeding up. but otherwise good. =)
