It looks fantastic Jenni! Good job to everyone who came out and helped to spread the word. Students ARE voting, and we all have a voice! Its time we are heard!
@corey57723 I understand democracy perfectly and I also respect it...thanks. I was simply asking the students to vote for a PM who will also understand and respect democracy.
@EagleLooking78 You should take a second to contemplate your posts before offending other voters regarding their political decisions. You are not aware of my political beliefs and yet challenge my future decisions as either "stupid" or "not stupid". I am well aware of the website to which you refer, and will not engage in a quarrel regarding political issues here. Rather, I encourage you to support the intentions of this video: getting politicians to care about students, and voting!
@corey57723 I do support this video...which is why I said "Good job SFU" -> I also have every right to express my opinion though. You're right...I don't know you, but your attempt to silence my dissent is pretty Harper-esque. So you have made your suggestion, I have considered it, and now I am going to tell you to fuck off. I will express my political opinion anywhere I want. Harper offends me every single day. I don't care if I offend a few of his supporters with my comments.
@EagleLooking78 Watch news coming from Syria if you want to know what having no right to dissent looks like before you spout your big mouth off, ya whiner.
@darion333 So because other parts of the world have it worse off we should ignore the erosion of democratic processes in our own country? That's rational. Reminds me of the time the federal government told the Indians "Hey, at least we weren't as bad to you as the US was to their Indians." -> Not really comforting and neither is your comparison.
@EagleLooking78 Sorry, what erosion? It seems to me that Canada has had more federal elections than any other nation I can think of in the last 15 years. Your hyperbole is ridiculous. You don't like that the ability exists to prorogue parliament? Then you've got a problem with the fact we're still a monarchy. Whereas, every party complaining about this intends to fully expand the powers and authority of Government.
@asleepwithsheep You're right, mob rule is the perfect form of government. Majority rules for everything! Doesn't matter what's right. If you wanted representation to be more meaningful in a coalition government, I wouldn't worry, that's probably what you're about to get. :)
@darion333 I don't have an issue with the parliamentary procedure of prorogation, I do, however, have a serious problem with the way Harper implements that mechanism to avoid scrutiny and silence his critics.
What erosion? Are you kidding me!? There is clearly no point trying to have an intelligent debate with you, you are willfully blind to what is going on in this country.
Go ahead...vote conservative. You deserve what you get.
@EagleLooking78 haha, its actually pretty hard to have a convo with you...analyze your arguments first..thennn it will be easier for all of us to have a good convo. cheers!
@corey57723 Corey, I have spent the last 3 years studying politics and contemplating my position in relation to about 30 years worth of life experience. So far you haven't even attempted to make a point, other than to try to silence my opinion. I am open to a debate with anyone at any time. Go ahead and make your case...
@EagleLooking78 Harper implements mechanisms to avoid scrutiny and silence his critics? Are you kidding me!? There is clearly no point trying to have an intelligent debate with you, you are willfully blind to what is going on in this country. ... See what I did there? Fairly lame retort, no? .. Anyways, the idea that a government has confidential material and classified material isn't very uncommon. There are very good reasons why they do, also. Your leftwing party of choice will do the same.
@darion333 Yes, I see what you did and it is really lame...when you say it. The difference is that when I said it, it was frighteningly true. When you say it, it is a mild mockery. Do you seriously believe that parliament was prorogued to protect classified information? It was prorogued to cover up conservative involvement in the illegal transfer of detainees...someone was going to get charged with war crimes and Harper shit-canned the inquisition.

How about holding our politicians accountable for their election "promises"? Until then, we still have a dictatorship.

In the year of 2011, they're still using paper ballots, great way to stopping young people from voting...sigh...

@EagleLooking78 at that will be an individual decision of each individual voter. Your opinion may not be shared by all.

@corey57723 Feel free to prorogue this conversation whenever you get uncomfortable with a democratic process that includes the right to dissent.

@darion333 you really shouldn't be confusing real democracy with a multiple choice election ballot. think deeper.
