The calculation of the vital capacity is in error. It should not be equal to the volume of water in the bottle, but equal to the total volume of the bottle minus the volume of remaining water. Also, for greater accuracy, the volume should be expressed at body temperature (BTPS) which can be roughly calculated by multiplying by 1.08 to account for the expansion of gas at the warmer body temperature.
