More than a year on and even more difficulties in the application of these rules have come to light - no one has explained why any of them were introduced in the first place - complicated and completely unnecessary - anything that takes a ten minute video to explain (in part) is not simple.
Are these exact rules internationally held? I have just restarted hockey in England after 2 years and I know you can self start but wasn't sure about the 5m ruling...excellent video though, really clear thank you.
i have to play mid field on saturday when i am normally defence which is confusing enough! And we are playing the our hardest opposition!! Eurghhhhh soooo annoying!! :S
Interesting explanation of the new rules, not just stating what the rules are, but showing scenarios where the rules are kept or broken. Very helpful to watch before the new season begins.
Much better clarification of rules now that FIH have clarified the 5mts ball travelling distance inside the 23mtr zone. A must see for all players and umpires.
