The only point I was trying to make (get a grip...I wasn't saying that Michelle was a harlot for God's sake(....is that she like he are big news one day and bad news the next. I love to watch her performances, she really moves gracefully, but I like also other skaters, personally I like Irina Slutskaya's pirouettes the best :) But Michelle really skates beautifully :)
You're right! Aside from Michelle Kwan, my other favorite skater is Irina Slutskaya. I love the positions she gets on her spins and she gets such great spring on her jumps!

A choker? Come on. 9 National and 5 world titles. Now look at her major competitors - Cohen and Slutskaya. They didn't win Olympic gold either and don't even come close to her titles. Making such a comment doesn't make sense if you look at her 10 year career. As for retiring, that's up to her isn't it? Are you a world class figure skater and can make such a judgment? She has over 40 perfect 6.0 scores. No one even comes close. So what if she didn't win the OGM.

This is a beautiful video and Michelle is a beautiful girl. in no way is she a choker. the 1998 olympics-she had a perfect routine. but at that time tara lipinski had a more technically superior routine. the 2002 olympics, sarah hughes defied all the rules and took home the gold. she never choked, it was just to her luck that someone did better then her both times around. but 9 nationals and 5 worlds certainly shows her composure under pressure
As much as I love Michelle Kwan, and I do LOVE her, she needs to retire and stop amatuer compition. Her body cannot keep up with the strain and stress of maintaining an olympic level competitor.
I understand what you are saying, but that has to be Michelle's decision and not ours. Right now, I think that if she continues to skate it will not be for medals anymore, but simply because it gives her joy.
