I listen to death metal, do not care for most deathcore, and liked the Reign...back to deathcore or not, at least the Reign album will be worth listening to for some time. Death metal fans aren't judging, just discerning... the better it is the more we like to tune in to what is going on with the riffage rather than bouncing around like people who would not know the difference between quality and quantity. Long live AOAA, whatever direction the guys take next.

They changed back to Deathcore cos they thought Death Metal shows were boring and most of the people there just stood and watched them with their arms crossed judging them (being cunts basically). They also said they didn't feel like themselves playing that album, so they've started playing stuff they're happy with again. I have plenty of respect for them for changing back and forth, proves they have talent to write more technical stuff, but the slower and groove based stuff is much better!

@MattKondrath Well as they were touring with other bands, and sharing drumkit to a certain degree, two bassdrums were set up as some of the others used it. The AOAA drummer just plays with a double pedal instead :)
