  • one of the best male female duets ever done in rock, another is Stevie with Don Henley doing Leather and Lace. Common thread? Stevie Nicks, amazing songstress

  • Some people are calling stevie the goat lady. That is pretty funny. She really didn't have a very good voice. As they sometimes say, laughing out loud. What is SDMHA?

  • @johnnystaccata If she didn't have a very good voice, her career wouldn't have lasted 35 years...and counting.

  • @JoyousMusicLover Well success does not equate talent. Her voice has been shot for years. She should hang it up.

  • @johnnystaccata Why do you watch and listen videos with Stevie if you can't stand her ?

  • COULD YOU IMAGINE IF STEVIE NICK AND TOM PETTY HAD OFFSPRING - JUSTIN WHATS HIS NAME WOULD BE PLAYING IN A SAND BOX IN ALABAMA SOMEWHERE Ô¿Ô

  • Tom Petty and THE GOAT!

  • @buhkatski people like you have very weak minds.so easily influence by a very dumb show like South park...written by mindless ass holes.Go crawl back under the rock you came from

  • gmartinz01 or whatever. It's "yeah you buckle with the weight of the WORD" They're talking about LOVE. That's the word that makes him buckle.

  • He was so sexy back then. That's my fantasy man right there.

  • such a good songg! and tom petty was kinda sexy, hahah.

  • We went from talented musicians like Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty to talentless ones like Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber. WHY?!?!!!?! That's not progress.

  • @xsnrgman

This is real music, no matter how many times i listen i never get bored of it! I wasnt born til 89 & i reeally missed out on all the best stuff! The new music lately is just getting worse & worse!

    xx

  • I can't believe music critics actually criticized Stevie's voice back in the day. I LOVE her voice! Those critics should be flogged!

  • @jposh707 haha, they didnt hear the crap mtv mass produces nowdays

  • Is is just me or does Tom Petty look like Jon Heder in this video?

  • Tom Petty has as incredible style. Whether that is the result of his father, mother, sister or brother he stands as a consumate gentlemen, fine musician and superb songwriter.

  • I would have stopped recording once she looked right in my eyes... She is so Beautiful.

  • She is so fuckin' sexy! Love that voice.

  • Why doesn't it show Ron Blair? on Tom's Website it shows Ron in the video.

  • They need to tour together again!

  • one of the best songs ever made!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is the 80s simply as the best decade for rock. proven by tom and stevie. godbless.

  • Stevie is so yummy :P

  • tom petty is th legend!

  • This is such a great song. My understanding is that it was not intended to be a duet initially. "Yeah, you buckle with the weight of the world" is such a cool line.

  • 19 people don't know what the hell real music is.

  • what is this gay ass 80s bull shit soujds like something off of miami vise grrrr

  • @sugahface man you're a fuckin' idiot! FYO, this was a hit 4 years before Miami Vice(I personally thought the show was faggy and just plain shit too) 2nd Stevie is hot and yes I'm gay and I wanna be her twin sis and she I and pop female stars don't care what a peabrain male like you thinks(because you're probably a high school dropout living in mommy's basement doing pot all day long and not even paying her) and 3) Tom has been married to 2 different women. I don't think the man is gay...

  • @entertainme3000 hi i got 2nd singer after tom and stevei think she meant him ??? good luck =)

  • @sugahface Tom Petty is like the WORST person to diss. People who are even YOUNGER then you(20-60) knows he's king of cool(like Dylan) but his good stuff was all in the 90's. I bet he'd just laugh you off and flick his ashes in your eye! HA! You got OWNED! SLAMMER! NOW STFU 4ever and get a good edu!

  • @sugahface and see you just made yourself look retarded all over again because Nicks wrote the song(she does not "Sample") but you don't know anything about these ppl(my cassette will even say who wrote arranged produce. It was off her Bella Donna from 1981 not that you'd care, you just want poop on all our bday cakes(as gross as that sounds) Do yourself a favor and keep your lip zipped because you're only digging yourself in deeper by making yourself look more undeducated this every timeu write

  • @sugahface: What?? This is one of Rock & Roll's greats! U must be like a teenager right? This was before Miami Vice..... U don't like Tom Petty or Stevie Nicks...... ha ha ha ha ha? I bet you don't listen to rock and roll. U must like stuff like: "Katie Perry, Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Hanna Montana & Lady Ga Ga."

  • @Chrliesangelsman exactly Charlie. and that's what I explained to this punk. Miami Vice I mean(Phew!) Let me state for the record, I'm as 80's as can BE but even when I was 5 years old, I had the oppurtunity to watch, but that was something I was just not interested in, and really even if ppl dug it, it didn't stay around(I think Don Johnson hated it himself! An even bigger insult is you had ppl like Glenn Frey and Phil Collins, real cool artists before and after ridiculous crap) t 1

  • @Chrliesangelsman pt 2 I never watched but through their videos on MTV they were heavily marketing those two because of their appearances and soundtracks on the show(I remember as a kid when a video for Miami Vice came on, I walked in another room, I was swift for then!) and exactly this was 4 years before that. I really think that even if Stephanie Lynn Nicks or Thomas Petty approached to do something like that, I think their logical response to do is silently laugh(pt 2)

  • @Chrliesangelsman pt 3 silently laugh flick out their ashes and say sarcastically "whatever" like i said before, can't even believe people like Frey and Collins(other artists I liked before that time would've done something so hideous, they both were already stars in their own rights) yeah their were things about the 80's even I found cheesy, MV just went to far(by the way I bet you he don't know that Tom is a Florida native too just in a countryside town, where a couple Eagles are from

  • OMG listen to that,I mean my goodnes she's a dream!

  • Tom Petty wrote this song and gave it to Stevie from her sokto album cause she needed a duet. He admitted, she sang it way better than him. She then sang a duet with him the Insider on his album which was not nearly as big a hit. He also claimed Stop Draggin my Heart Around hurt the sale of Women in Love which is a great Petty song.

  • Poor Stevie thought was finally going to get to join the Heartbreakers.

  • @mikecosgrove hell would it have been more a dream for her...or THEM? And nobody can break hearts better than pretty Stevie. And the macster's were already treating them pretty shabbily, but for those who know, her and Chris always had a mother-daughter like relationship there was no "Damn Stevie"while Chris grinded her teeth or from Stevie "Chris music is hot but I'm gonna take my own to the top, make them forget" I honestly believe that Chris is to think for keeping Stevie in the band

  • @entertainme3000 Stevie is quoted as saying Christine was "...my only friend in the band..."

  • @mikecosgrove pt 2 because as Stevie said "I've been wanting to leave FM since 1974 when I was invited as "Part of Lindsey's and mick's package deal but Chrissy always got me to stick it out "One more time"

  • @mikecosgrove: What does that mean??? "poor Stevie"?? She was already a member of an even GREATER band in my opinion..... FLEETWOOD MAC..... ha ha ha ha. Plus a very accomplished solo artist in her OWN right..... I don't think she ever had any desire to join the Heartbreakers..... why would she want to go from a band that sold MORE records, to a band that didn't have the sales that Fleetwood Mac did?

  • @Chrliesangelsman If you watch the Tom Petty interview Runnin' Down A Dream, Stevie is on there saying she would have left Fleetwood Mac in minute if Tom Petty asked her to join the Heartbreakers. I was shocked myself to hear that. Fleetwood Mac is one of my favorites especially with Stevie Nicks and why would she leave in the middle of a success like that. I don't know if she was kidding but she seemed serious. Fortunately Tom Petty told her there were no girls in the band!

  • @mikecosgrove: I tend to agree with you..... She was probably saying it in "jest." It was taken as a compliment I am sure by Tom Petty...... I really do like Tom Petty, but I find the statement: "no GIRLS in the band" to be somewhat bigoted. A more appropriate response would have been "we aren't looking for any new members." But it was his loss anyway...... Thanks for your reply..... take care Mike. :-)

  • @mikecosgrove - where can I find the Running Dowan a Dream interview?

  • @Stocky607 Amazon has the four dvd set for 33.95 and the two dvd set for 19.99. The four disc set has the interview (two discs) a concert and a music disc. The two dvd set looks like just the interview. You must have it!

  • they look so young

  • I wouldn't mind giving Stevie Nicks my Chaqueta Banana.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes! :)

  • @styxfankc15 thanks :)

its wierd that i know that im only 15

  • @jusbow567 you're neat! all i have to do is watch any video and my 9 year old sister is drawn in, she knew the powerful impact of this video: "Stevie's pretty ain't she Haley?" "Yeah Bubu" and "Tom's really cool" Yeah. "wouldn't it be neat if they were married" Yeah! she answers thrilled. Though Lori Petty-Nicks or Lori Nicks-Petty, could Stevie's sister have been married to Tom at one point?(one of Stevie's girls that sang backup) hey everything was relative in rock and roll

  • @entertainme3000 Hi! Lori Perry (not Petty) married Stevie's brother, and she became Lori Perry Nicks.

  • @jusbow567 Yes.

  • @jusbow567 Their lead singer most of the time, and the songwriter who penned a handful of their biggest hits.

  • @jusbow567 no einstein. she was never in a group called "Fleetwood Mac" let me ask you a question even more totally fucked up then what you just did

    Does McDonald's have golden arches?

  • @jusbow567 no, actually, she got her start from dancing in the background of sir mix-a-lot videos. also, you're a complete retard.

  • @damnitabelincoln dont be like that i was just making sure

  • @damnitabelincoln Dude, you are really cool. You responded like an asshole to a simple question that was already answered 4 months ago. You just made yourself look like a cocky, arrogant, moron. And knowing what band Stevie Nicks was in doesn't make you a badass in any form.

  • @jusbow567 You think? No way! Lmao!

  • @loriannedc im 16 so the fact i know that is outstanding (for me anyways)

  • well stevie owns it on this song....im nnot sure why petty even bothered showing up

she didnt neeed his sorry ass...if you insist on having the guy part, at least get a equal voice...wich in stevies case is almost impossible,

  • @arlichar11 -

I dont know why Petty showed up...MMMM??? Probably because he wrote the freakn song

  • @twhite696969 well theres lots of people who write songs and let a better singer do it... this should have been one of those times...without her this song would never made the radio...

  • @arlichar11 she stole the song from Don Henley too on another track off "Bella Donna" her solo debut also with "Stop" I think it was all agreement but still it was all agreed upon and she keeps in touch with both(on a music/friendship level how ironic the men are married and she only dates voluntarily, but she's very satisfied, her songs are her "babies.)

  • I always liked how Stevie Nicks looks at Petty in this video, as if trying to figure out who, or WHAT he is!

  • I am a die hard heavy metal fan and when i hear this, its one of my ultmost favorite duets of all time. Sorry Keith and Carrie,,, go back to your country shit and sing more sad songs.

  • STEVIE.. what a sight for sore eyes!

  • Rock today is liberal synth hippy nerd crap. Bubblegum crap still around, but modern rock pales in comparison to the late 60's thru the end of the 80's

  • @n2muzyk hello killjoy. Here's my business card to the shrink's couch. Call me. I feel for those who live in anger. Smile!

  • Best duet of all time. The chemistry is so original and felt . If that makes any sense

  • Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood couldn't lick the floor that Nicks and Petty stood on, they should be arrested for what they did to this song ... and, for the record, I hope Tom was giving Stevie as much of his Southern Rocker Man Meat as she could handle.

  • @hammerogod bravo i hate What Carrie "Carebear" underwear does & Urban is not much better, Lucky he has Nicole , better not screw that shit up.. If they do get arrested let me know....

  • this is a great song like no other, i never got tired of it... it's great to see these two in their primes. awesome talent...

  • They dont make shit like this anymore

  • not just a great voice, the most beautiful ever.

  • PURE CLASSIC!!!

  • Stevie Nicks is a goddess

  • i should of known better than to of gotin exicited for a 7:24 long version but regardles this is a good one

  • Great song...shame Stevie and Tom don't seem to "hit it off"...they barely look at each other.

  • is it me or is it at 3:05 Stevie forgot the lyrics for a second?

  • @dustinloving It's just you.

  • Two of the all time best and most under rated singers of all time. Love them together and love them alone. Tom Petty was a sexy rocker of that time...and Stevie is and always will be stunningly beautiful :-)

  • @LyricalVamp They were and are national treasures

  • Tom Petty was so hot...

  • Hirt #2 rock, #3 pop in Billboard. God bless!

  • certainly dont make them like they used to, thanks for the throwback

  • stevie was made to fit perfectly on the pillion seat of my ducati 900 ss.............. amazing how god things of every little detail when making the female form !........ only problem he put her on the wrong side of the pond. come to england stevie , the ride is awesome .

  • As we used to say back in Southern Calif. back in the day....." This song is Bitchin" Love Stvie and Tom together!

  • Keith Uban is a good artist but him and Cerrie Underwood butchered that song =/ the hole point is for it to be soft and smooth

  • Great Stevie Nicks&Tom Petty&The Heartbreakers.Great Music,this is a killer-song

  • when music was actually music and videos were cool, ppl. who could really sing and perform!what a concept no longer used!!????

  • classic, love the guitar, an the song itself is so fuckin catchy

  • Stewboss "No One"

  • these 2 played together in my small hometown of manchester tn at bonarroo it was amazing

  • Stevie was pretty amazing in her day

  • still is in my eyes

  • @RomaRi914 fawk my husband loves this women. so i guess i love her too...fawk shes kool love the voice stevie. i will make your clothes i know where you are coming from. black i know

  • what a good song. broken wings is a good mr. mister song

  • damn whats with mister mister, totally bad, superbad

  • Stevie Nicks & Tom Petty - "Stop Draggin My Heart Around", sin duda la mejor cancion que hizo este dueto, son mexicano y nunca voy a dejar de gozar esta rola, es lo mejor que se ha escuchado en muchos años

  • A few year's ago before a big Fleetwood Mac Reunion Tour, Stevie wanted to lose weight - friend Tom Petty said something like, you can do it - youve done it before - neat having friends who stand by you like Tom.
