Has anyone considered the logistics of an enemy nation using pre-1982 computing power to record, digitize, parse, store and analyze all of the phone calls in Washington? You know, small details like like purchasing and installing ROOMS full of the hardware required, electricity usage, building codes, the human resources required (People's Help Desk?), etc. Unless you assume Soviets were WAY ahead of Silicon Valley (not!), all of this is highly doubtful.

The KGB, which is what this doc is about, not necessarily about USSR, is only ONE aspect of the Soviet Union and surely, even in a declining nation, there are still some strong points in it. KGB, at this time, was just as good, if not better, as the CIA.

You don't have to take the doc as fact. Just enjoy it and keep your black and white political slants out of it.

This was made by Republicans, who are vastly different from today's neo-cons. The film isn't hyping anything because it was the truth to an extent.  The USSR was spreading Communism the same way America spreads Democracy - through violence.
