  • Thanks for sharing, your tutorials are so helpful! I just started to crochet this year, I am always looking for help with different patterns. Good to know your out there to help! Peace and blessings my sista!

  • Amazing I am soooooo gonna get one!

  • Cre8ive!!!!

Do you have patterns 4 some of these hats?

  • how long does it usually take you to make one of these?

  • Depending on the hat I can put one out within about 3 to 4 hours now. That's with no distractions.

  • wow, it took me 2 and a half days to finish one! lol, well that was my first hat, I was following how you did it in your 2nd tutorial video, plus I have school D:

thank you btw for the great tutorial!! :)

and you're really good teaching newbies

  • great hats!

  • I LOVE these hats! Very unique :-)

How long does it take for you, to crochet a hat?

  • how do you get your hat to be so round like for example the pink hat that you "rock to death" lol it has a nice roundness to it i followed your rasta hat tutorial but my hat didnt come out like that with the big roundness

  • The pink hat is a totally different pattern and stitch. The uniqueness of each hat comes from either that particular pattern or stitches used. Also, you may want to experiment in adjusting how tight or loose you crochet, this also changes the dimensions of the finished product.

  • if i haven't said it before, i will say or type it now, THIS IS A NICE CROCHET HAT VIDEO!!! VERY NICE ART!

  • Thank you very much... Your work is the BOMB as well. Keep it going sista!

  • Gorgeous hats and outstanding video. Thanks for sharing!

  • you're really talented. i have to say my favorite is the pink one you did while freestylin'. that's hot. keep it up!!!

  • Hey Pinky was just wondering if you used a book to make some of the designs in your hats. I would love to find it if you did.

  • I do not use patterns as they are written anymore I adapt them to my needs and most often combine ideas from patterns instead of crocheting exactly from them. But a book I would recommend is Get Your Crochet On! Hip Hats & Cool Caps by Afya Ibomu. You will love the designs!!!

  • Thanks for the info, will have to go out and get this book.

  • pinky2d4. you are really, really good at your art.i am so impressed with your designs.i wanted all of them!you really know how to pull it all together.i like the colors you choose and every thing is in ballance. thanks

  • I just taught myself how to crochet again....my grandmother taught me a long time ago (r.i.p grandma) ..i was just going through some videos and i saw another lady that did a pretty good job but when i ran across your video i was like "yeah this is who i need to watch!!" So all i want to say is thanks for posting your videos for people like me who need a hobby...its a big stress reliever! AND YOUR WORK IS AWESOME!! All of my friends are starting to crochet now! Thanks Pinky!!!

  • I have been working off of the simple beret/tam pattern with the brown and pink beret

  • i love your rasta style hattttts :)

  • Thanks I am just wondering should I start over or just try to add extra stitches to compensate for the error?

  • Well, I'm not sure how far you have gotten, but if it looks ok visually the stitch count won't exactly throw this hat totally off. If you haven't gone too far yet and aren't happy then by all means start over. It happens to me all the time, lol.

  • im sorry if i am asking so many questions, but when you join and chain is that considered your first stitch and when you are doing your joining is the chain where you are doing the joining?

  • yes, your join and chain is considered the first stitch. When you join you are using the top (or last) stitch of the original chain. Which crochet tutorial video are you following so I can direct you to the correct number for the visual on this concept.

  • I am curious I have been on again off again crocheting for 5 years and i was wondering how did you get the snowflake at the top of the beret i like that but i wanted to do something different to make it my own? Also i have been following along with the video but i am missing stitches probaby because i don't know if the chain stitch counts as a stitch when you say crochet in same stitch when going to your next row.

  • The snoflake is freestyled. It took me a couple of months of playing with it, going back and forth until it looked correct visually. Sometimes just toying with stitch combinations and different looks brings forth a new creation. As far as the crochet tutorial, yes the chain in each round counts as the first stitch. The stitch you place in the same stitch is the 2nd stitch which makes the first increase in the hat. I do that so the seam won't start going sideways the more rows you add.

  • Also, if your stitch count is off, check to see if you are using the last stitch in the row which will be hard to see due to pulling the string tightly as you strand or go forward. If you look closely there is always another smaller stitch right next to the 1st chain. If you are lacking one stitch in the count, use that stitch as well.

  • hi . my name is kymahni u do really good work. your stitches are consistant, ilike that.i,ve been crocheting for over 30 years.

  • Truly Inspirational, love them all:-) Do you sell your patterns? Where can I get them from? as I've not had much luck finding stylish patterns like these.

  • I currently don't have any patterns for sale but I am working on a couple since more than a few people have asked. Also you can try finding "Get your Crochet On" by Afya Ibomu her patterns are nice and easy to adapt. Some of these are adaptations of her patterns.

  • Thank you so much, I have been reading some reviews on this book prior actually, but since you recommended it I ordered it. Cheers for that:-D Your video and talent has really inspired me. Stay blessed! :)

  • They're so beautiful. Great work of art. Keep up the good wok :D.

  • Very nice hats miss thing. We look similiar and it seems we like similar hobbies and styles, nice to meet you. I hope you have the time to keep on releasing your creativity! Take care

  • love these creations! now i want to learn to crochet!

  • wow pinky these are great

  • I LOVE the puffy newsboy type hats! Could you print the patterns for the ones located at 4:02 and 4:47 PLEASE!

I've checked crochetpatterncentral(dot)com but didn't find any that puffed. Are the hats in your photos stuffed or do they stand alone?

    Thanks!

  • The hat at 4:02 was freestyled, there is no pattern for it unfortunately. The hat at 4:47 is copyrighted and from a book called Get Your Crochet On! Hip Hats & Cool Caps by Afya Ibomu. The book is recently selling for as little as $6.02 on Amazon, the highest is like $11.66 currently. I paid full price at $15 which is excellent for all the patterns that she gives you. You will not be disappointed!!!! I won't post copyrighted patterns, in the crochet community it's an absolute no no.

  • Pinky the hats are gorgeous!!!!!!!!

Wow!! You do very good work!!!

  • wow, you're so good. those hats are very nice... love the jamaica one lolz

    jAMAiCA jAMAiCA!! ;D

  • all I can say is WOW !

  • You must go global, these are beautiful. You are an artist!

  • I love your tams!!! I am fairly new to crocheting hats I only do it for my brother and cousin. Where did you get the pattern for the tam? I really like that and would like to try it. Wow your good!!! HOPE TO SEE THE TUTORIAL AND THE NEW SEASON OF HATS SOON!!!!!

  • I am loving your hats!!! Are you going to sell any? Or sell the patterns to make them? Great job!!!

  • Well... I looked at a picture I found on google of one then I painstakenly tried to copy it until I got it right. There is no pattern for the star. It was crazy, lol. I think I tore the hat down over 20 times before I got it to look right.

  • I've been trying to figure out the star pattern too! It's driving me crazy. I'll figure it out eventually. I can't find a really good picture to look at and try to copy though.

  • I like the hat at 3:22. How much would you charge for something like that?

  • have you ever tried making crochet cloches? it's like a beanie but with a lopsided brimmish thing. chescaliegh has a good tutorial but I would like to see it in some other colors.

  • I haven't made any but there are many patterns out there for them. Crochetpatterncentral(dot)com has many patterns there to try.

  • love your hats, iv done a vid also of the hats i have made

  • Simply amazing to say the least!!!! How do I buy?

  • WOW ALL OF THESE ARE HOT 4REAL.

  • These hats are the bomb! The Bomb I tell ya!

They look like some of the hats I've seen in Afya Ibomu's crochet book, only better. Much better. Do you have patterns? I crochet hats, scarves and give them as gifts for family and friends. I would love to make one of your hats.

  • Wow i love these hat. Do you make them or is they yours? If you make them i will love to purchase on from you.

  • I haven't yet began to sell hats for this winter season. When I do I will make an announcement about it. Thanks for asking.

  • I'm going to have to practice making brims again...I love your hats.

What kind of yarn do you use for your hats?

  • Sorry I'm just seeing your question. I use mostly regular worsted weight yarn. I use more cotton for the lighter summer hats and may use some wool in the winter.

  • Pinky!

Girl! You are the bomb! I love when you freestyle. I'm new at crocheting, maybe you can post videos and show some of us newbies how to crochet as beautiful as you.

  • I'll try to do that real soon. Thanks for watching!!!

  • Wow, you have some great stuff here! I am super impressed. You are an inspiration for sure!

  • i have got to purchase some of these hats. Do let me know when you'll be gettin back in the swing of things...preferrably by the fall/winter season (lol). That's probably pushing it.

  • You ARE a "jack of all trades". Great work.

  • I just checked out your Fotki page..girl you did your thang! on your hats. I have to try my hand at hat making..I love crafting.

  • I will check out your other link!

  • Your hats are very nice...my grandmother use to make and sale all kinds of hats. I'm going to try making some myself. I use to crochet baby blankets.

  • Thank you, I resurrected my crochet after a long pause of about 15 years, lol. I was in a car accident in 2004 and had to find something to do or I would have went crazy. I'm glad I did, I use it now for relaxation. I wish I could do more but I have carpel tunnel so I have to chill back a bit. Thank you for watching and commenting.

  • love then hats what are they going for i gots to get me some for fall*smile*
