  • What kind of yarn would you reccomend? I am making for new born to 6 months

  • I LOVE the look of this hat, BUT When I try to make the puff stitch, my yarn snags! Any suggestions? Is my tension too tight?

  • @jqv10 Tension is a possibility or it could be the yarn you are using. Either way, try working looser to see if it will not snag anymore.

  • It's Gorgeous!!!!!!! I love it!!!!

  • @yulyasha20 Thank you.

  • any idea why I can't see your tutorial? The picture comes on then darkens and remains there while I can only HEAR your instructions, the darkened pic stays there. some of your videos work but many don't.

  • I LOVE UR TUTORIALS TERESA! U R GREAT! I have learn crochet from ur tutorials, by watching ur videos

i never thought i would crochet so many things i want to crochet a simple baby boy sweater for 3-6 month old, i am confused about the sizes.

can u pls post a tutorial of a baby sweater...

    thank u

  • I'm not sure how often you check this, but I'll ask just in case. I'm wanting to make it larger, but I don't know how large I need to make it. I'm making for a friend who lives across the country so I can't exactly size it on the baby's head. Her head measures 18.5 in. My son's head is about 1/4 in larger so I have a guidline. I'm using worsted weight yarn... what hook should I use? Am I better off trying to make this one larger or should I make the adult sized crochet hat smaller?

  • BTW, I absolutely love your tutorials! I was about to give up on learning to crochet until I found this tutorial. You go slow and you're clear enough for me to actually figure it out!

  • mrs. theresa, thanks for writing back. got a big grin on my face. greetings from australia.

I have only been crotcheting for a little over two months and I have already crotched so much! I made. Scarf, blanket, beanie a ball a hat with the bill, and now I'm working on the Kingston hat! • so cuteeeeeeeeee .

I am going to make one for my baby sister

    I love u ♥

  • I made the hat with two colors, turned out good. Thanks so much for making it so easy.

  • I have a question. I want to make the hat a little bigger how would I do that.

  • @crochetprincess06 The easiest way to make the cap larger is to use a larger crochet hook. You can also use larger yarn and a larger crochet hook. If that is not enough, you will work in more increase stitches and increase rounds.

  • Theresa,

my family is expecting 3 babies in January and I wanted to make them this hat since it's so cute! Is there a way you could tell me what size hat corresponds to hook size? Since I want to make them for newborns, I just want to make sure the size of them. =]

Also, what size would the hook have to be for a 2 year old? Sorry for so many questions. <333

  • @converselove17 i used a j hook with 4 ply red heart yarn and followed this pattern with puffy puff stiches and it fit my 2 year old

  • hey theresa,

  • @mizzroxie84 Thank you! Doll clothes is a great idea.

  • @tjw1963 she think it's great, and i think so to, now i'm making the babydress of solomons knot for her doll, I use a smaller size cochet hook so it falls smaller :P

  • Hello dear,

i need to make a hat for a 12 year old girl. how many initial puff stitches and on each until 6th row should i make? Thank you

  • hola Teresa!!!!!!!!!!! me ha gustado mucho el gorro puff. podrias pasarlo en español, no se ingles y me cuesta vastante de entender. gracias. Saludos desde España.

  • I've got to say that I've watched tons of other tutorials on YouTube on how to crochet things, and yours are always by far my favorite! Thank you for sharing.

  • @JoyRenee86 You are welcome! I appreciate the comment.

  • Hi Teresa, Love you tutorials! I cant read a pattern to save my life, so these are great. I've made 2 of these and wanted to make one for a 2 yr old. Any suggestions on how to alter the pattern? Thanks!

  • @jdw831 The easiest way is to use a larger crochet hook. If that is not enough, you may want to use extra increase stitches and rounds to make the cap larger.

  • Have you done a jester hat for a child with pom poms? Not sure if it would be a similar pattern or different with the poms on both sides or not.

  • Hi Teresa,

Thank you for your detailed videos. It's like you are sitting right next to me and I appreciate you so much! Do you have a doggie sweater video you can share with us? You're awesome! Happy New Year!

  • @mslindy1 No tutorials for dog sweaters. Sorry!

  • Hi Teresa,

I love your videos, you are so patient and kind and take time explaining what you are doing. You have opened up a new world for me as I don't read patterns well. I was just wondering if you have a dog sweater pattern you would share with us. You are awesome. Happy New Year!

  • I love and do not speak English

  • @luoses1985 Thank you!

  • Hello Ms. Teresa, I'm in the process of finishin up this hat and now working on the pom ball, but you didn't say if we tie a knot in the yarn or not once we've gotten to the end of wrapping the yarn around the circle of cardboard?

    Thanks so much

    Big Hugs,

    - Sherrell

  • @1love2008falife You can tie several knots around the pom pom so it stays in place.

  • My friend Teresa'm from Brazil Rio de Janeiro did not know English I'm using a translator, I crochet a few years ago just do for fun more like you did in your jobs are even more beautiful a hug at the bottom of his heart. Mary Joseph (Mazé)

  • @mazecscr I appreciate the comment, thank you.

  • Hi Teresa. i watch this video as well as the one you made with the ear flaps but that one was for adults. How many PS would you recommend to make the flaps for this baby one? thank you so much in advance.

  • @dharris2005 I would estimate 3 or 4 puff stitches.

  • do you have any patterns for beginner hat

  • THANK YOU!!!!! If I can do this then anybody can, clear instructions and slow motion was an added bonus :). The only thing is that mine isn't the size for a baby, so what do I need to do to keep it small. Yarn, crochet hook, please help me there. I'm a person that needs someone to hold my hand in learning.

  • This will be my next project :)

  • I saw something about a beginners playlist can I have this please? I've never attempted anything outside washcloths but been croceting for years I have a little girl now and am looking to make unique pieces that no one else has!

  • Oh this is marvelous!!!! My sister-in-law is having her first baby on December. I'm not a skillful crocheter but I'll try doing my best to do this cute little hat. Thanks Teresa you are a very talented and wonderful teacher. God bless you.

  • @TheKateybug You are coming right along!

  • how do you increase to make it bigger for 2yr old?? when u say working additional increases do you mean do another round of 1ps next to2ps in each stitch???

    thanks

  • Your tutorials are so easy to follow. Thanks so much for taking the time to post these videos. I tried this hate and it turned out so sweet. Thanks so much.

  • @twalker713 You are welcome! :)

  • Hello. does more increase mean the hat will curve more? Thanks

  • @zzsnaponzz Working additional increases means that the hat will be larger.

  • What age is this hat for? I want to make one for a 1 year old.

  • @aliatony 14 inches

  • @tjw1963 is 14 inshes suitable for a one year old? Thanks

  • I love your tutorials.

  • i will always love videos... :-)

  • adorable! ^_^ I love your work!

  • Teresa this hat is absolutely precious!!

Any suggestions if I wanted to convert the first 6rows of the " imagination baby sweater"(the bodice) pattern to the puff stitch? I'm thinking 3dc of the pattern should convert to = 1 puff stitch. I'll do a test swatch to see if I can figure it out If i cant, I think just the bottom of the sweater in puff stitch would be easy to do and would look ok too.

I'm really excited to see if I can make the whole sweater to match that cute hat!!

  • thanks! i'm gonna try to make this since i'm having a baby.

  • Nice hat!

  • Awesome
